  1. if you can build a car, you can work on a banshee, they are simple, 1 bolt for the swingarm, 1 bolt for the linkage connected to the frame, 1 bolt for the top of shock and your whole rear end drops right off, rear sprocket you can chnage by just takin your left wheel off, and slide the sprocet off right over the axle, u dont even need to remove the axle
  2. ok, now that im done crying.. im sorry if i hurt your feelings, but YOU STARTED IT!! na na na na naa naaa
  3. new jersey sucks, ive lived here almost 24 years, and thats the only thing ive come to a conclusion about, ive been in chases with cops on quads, had guns pulled and pointed in my face by cops, all for riding a fuckin 4 wheeler, there are trails everywhere off the train tracks by my house, but if you even ride down the tracks someone calls the cops on you, or they see you out patroling, there is NO freedom in new jersey, or new germany as most of us call it, it sucks my balls, but our next door neighbor ,PA, on the other hand, THEY have some AWESOME riding.. so im glad i live near it, endless trails as far as you would wana go, they got em, but fuck new jersey, you cant do shit here, too many cops, not enough space
  4. you could have burned the packing out in one, ive seen a friends banshee silencer catch fire inside after he overpacked them , he stoped and shut it off and it was smoking like a mofo and poppin hahah, either way, dont hold the bike WOT for a minute, thats not good for any quad
  5. bunch of lucky west coast bastards
  6. no offense, but dont listen to this guy.. +4 swingarm? why?? and why elka shocks and lonestar a arms.. because they look 'way" good? haha sorry that was funny though...elka must be puttin something in our water, cause everyone recemonds them, even without riding them or any other companies shocks
  7. there you go, someone who has rode a few big name brands out there and gave his opinion based on experience, not what others told him, but i guess hes lying because he doesnt agree with you blueduece?... not all works are the $350 non rezzy, dual rate at steelers you see on ebay with the white and blue springs....
  8. if clearance is a big issue, get some 22's, they will be heavy and hurt your handling a bit, but its trail riding , so oh well, big deal, but like you said, a 13t will make up for some of that,
  9. untill someone chimes in who has owned the top of the line works and the top of the line elkas.. theres no reason to argue really, and even so, its still an opinion ,, in the end its your money, buy what you want, but do not buy something because of the price tag, theres plenty of things out there that cost alot of money and arnt worth it, the average guy riding the trrails with jumps here and there doesnt need $1600 shocks and by the way, works arnt all "cheap"... go price some black widows or some of their other top of the line models..., they are just smart and offer "cheap" at steelers for weekend warriors who dont have an arm and leg to give away for some shocks
  10. yea on the subject of yamaha dealers,, i orderd a goddam front sprocket nut from the one down the road from me, last monday, said it would be in thursday, well it neevr got there, fucked up my chances of riding last weekend, and they have told me since last thusday "it will be here tomarow"... today is wednesday, still dont have it...a fuckin $4 little axle nut from the most populuar quad in the world.. and they cant even get it.. looks like they might have fucked my weekend riding this weekend too.. dealerships are useless and i learned my lesson now, never again will i call them for anything
  11. just bring em to an STS or somethin like that in the future, they will mount em that day, or even while you wait, and charge you penuts
  12. another thing to keep in mind, might help, might not, is on the base of the steering stem , i dont know what its called, maybe like a "stop" or a "bumper", there is a little metal tab welded in there that stops your steering stem from over rotating, ive flipped my banshee a few times and been through a few sets of bars, and i had the same problem when i put a new front end on, my friend told me to check the bottom of the steering stem, and sure enough that ltitle stop, or bumper, whatever, was bent out a bit, allowing the bars to turn a litle farther than normal, i just hit it with a hammer a couple times and got it bent back where it was straight and now my wheels stop like 1/2" away from the a arms like they should
  13. dam zach, ill send you hooked on fonix for christmas good buy though,,lets see some pics
  14. whatever you do, DO NOT get 23 inch tires on a sport quad, haha, even 22's are huge on the back... my razr 2's hooked up pretty dam good, and lasted awesome, very tough, had liek 2-3 plugs total after 2 years of hard riding... there are tires out there that will hook up better, but the razr 2's are an aweesome trail tire, they last long, slide well, and hook up good, i have never rode the knarleys myself p ersonaly, but ive seen a friend get so many holes in them within 5 rides or so, he had to buy a new back one it was so full of holes, so after buying 3, he endedup throwin them away anyway, just kept poppin holes in them
  15. that being said.. i will let you know i spent around $600 on works and couldnt be happier for what i do, they are triple rate, remote rez's, and perform AWESOME, soak up all the small bumps and ruts so smooth, and then when you wana fly across some whoops or hit some jumps or drop offs, they handle it fine, ive never bottomed them out yet, and they did a hell of ajob valving them right from the factory, i was thinkin of sending them back at first cause they seemed a little soft, i just didnt get the whole idea behind the triple rate springs, they are real soft to begin with, but then i can jump up and down on my front end with both feet on it and they get really hard at the end of the stroke, i love em, and they cost about 1/2 of what a pair of triple rate elkas with rez's would cost
  16. ouch, easy there little guy...someone took that a little personal huh? hahah... and i wouldnt sit here and make up opinions if i had never rode a banshee with a 450 front end.. i have, and they SUCK,, BAD, sorry man..but to answer your question, no i have no clue what 5 inches is... why dont you whip out your cock and show us..? again... i dont know why you start with the personal attacks telling me to "learn how to ride and come back and post my results"...someone needs to take a happy pill, sorry i bashed your 450 front end, but they suck
  17. i think he got that number by taking his top speed he cocked next to a friends car, then adding 20
  18. it does 98 mph right now? is that with or without the boost bottle? ps: you could always toss on one of them new rainbow powerbands, heard they are good for the top end power
  19. you thought they were the best based on what... price? unfortunatley you cant go out and 'test' them first, so really you have to go on what other people say, pretty much everyone and anyone runs elkas now a days, but ive heard alot of shit about them doing horrible valving jobs from thedir factory in canada, and that to perform alot better people have had them sent out to guys they know to revalve them right away... no matter what you pick, your gona be 20 miles ahead of stock.. but DO NOT buy things based on high prices meaning the best product, or else everyone would be driving 3 series bmw's... but thats another story.. haha
  20. 130psi is stock.. yes you can run pump gas, 91 is fine
  21. www.kbb.com
  22. i saw one in walmart for $8.99 that looked the exact same...
  23. no im not "nose diving" my landings.. i dont even own a 450 front end,nor would i ever.,not on a banshee.. put it this way.. if you had shocks with any actual plushness, you WOULD be bottoming out your frame definatley.. you must have the preload cranked down so tight they hardley move... if you ride trails, and have that low 450 front end, i dont see any way you wouldnt be botoming out, unless you slow down to 10 mph over all the ruts/rocks/whoops, and even using it in MX, which would be nuts, you wouldnt have any travel, because your frame is 5-6 inches off the ground,, so if your suspension travels any farther than that, your frame is gona hit the ground, how you gona land a big jump on 5-6 inches of suspension travel? and a very harsh 5-6 inches at that..
  24. you guys are so damn mean... whos to say he doesnt have a dual flux capacitor or something you guys dont even know about...? i run 18/30 gearing on my stock blaster, and with the right amount of flux capacitor boost,it runs 145mph easy, all day
  25. 450 shocks are longer than banshee shocks, so if you use them with standard +2 a arms it will make the quad sit higher up, and for the money people spend on these 450 shocks, then they pay to have them shipped , and revalved, dual rate spring coonversion maybe, by that time, your better off just buying new shocks that are built for you and your bike
