ive only driven a few diesels, 6.0 and 7.3 fords and a 5.9 24v cummins, dont know shit about any of them... but i have to say banging gears in the 6speed cummins was just awesome.. my buddies 7.3 ford was quite a tank too.. full oak trees, up hill, in the snow, no problem, the thing was like a tractor one time i got my f150 stuck with 5k trailer behind it in the snow and he had to pull all of us out, the old 7.3 didnt even break a sweat... he had his trailer loaded(5-6k) hooked to his truck + my truck + my trailer loaded (~5k), not counting the weight of his 250, would be 15,000 pounds easy + weight of his truck, he hooked chain from the backof his trailer to the front of my 150 and pulled the whole lot out of the feild through snow, slightly uphill, no problem, f250+6k trailer+f150+5ktrailer... those diesels are amazing

260 def sounds too lean, especially for this time of the year, needs to be richer in the winter than in the fall, i would order some 280 and 300's , just to be safe, like the other guy said start rich and work down, always better to be a bit on the rich side than the lean side

put a 13 tooth on the front and give it a try, you will love it on the trails, lots of times id want more than 1st gear on a nasty technical hill, but 2nd gear was too much/fast or would fall out of the power , so now ill run the same hill that i used to do in 1st, in 2nd with a 13t front, going much faster, and wont fall out of the power as easy as it would with the 14 or 15 the rear is the opposite as the front, say you went down 1 tooth in front, the same difference could be made by going UP 3 in the rear sprocket, not sure if a 44tooth rear sprocket would even work with a skidplate though i would grab a 13t front , put it on, and try it out, big difference

no way to have one tire thats good for hard trails, clay hills, loose coal hills, and road riding, sorry just not possible, you will have to sacrifice any tire thats good in loose coal climbs will suck on trails , and of course road (all tires suck on the road) and any tire thats good on hard pack trails and clay climbs will suck on loose coal climbs, its really one or the other paddles/mud tires for the loose hills razr2/holeshot gnccc/kendas for everything else
