  1. Did you pick it up and if so how is it?
  2. TORS must have been removed already cause its not there.. Wires are all still there but box is gone. I did a little more messing around with it today and it still will only stay running if the choke is out on its first notch. Even like that it has terrible bottom end in the 0-1/4 throttle range. Runs like a champ in the mid and up top. Would that mean my pilots are too big? As of today pilots are 27.5, mains 340 and needle set at middle of 5 notches.
  3. Follow the number sequence that is on the original head.. Its numbered next to each studd hole.
  4. I installed the TORS removal kit which included the tops, idle screws, tap and drill. The previous owner removed the parking brake stuff but the box is still there and will remove it today. I'm at 115ft above sea level, temps 55-70 and live in MA. Using K&N pods with no air box.
  5. Actually I didnt.... I removed the tops of carbs and switch in the thumb throttle, tapped for the idle screws thats it! should I have removed something else? The previous owner had the parking brake disabled so I figured he had the electrical part of the tors removed! I'll check for the box under the radiator in the morning.
  6. The shee started out with only T5's and had a rebore .30 when I bought it. Within the last few weeks I installed everything in my sig including a magnum jet kit which included 300 mains and 30 pilots. I could not get it to idle correct and was told my pilots were too big and mains were way to small for my altitude and mods. Was said to go with a 27.5 pilots and 340 mains. Without the choke I have to rev it to keep it running.. Today I cleaned out the carbs really good, adjusted the floats and rejetted with 27.5 pilots and 340 mains.. It doesnt want to idle unless I keep the choke out on the first notch. What does that mean? I have the needle set in the middle of the 5 grooves and air screw at 1.5. When it idles better with the choke partially out doesnt it mean its lean? Help me out guys I'm ready to go crazy!! It ran great with just the T5's with 270 mains and 25 pilots.. What could be wrong? Tors is removed btw..

  9. Same here.. I had a T-maxx 2.5 but sold that motor quick cause it was a bitch to tune. I put a Sirio 3.0 and pipe in it with a inline filter. Did the forward only conversion (removed the reverse) and a bunch of other things to it. Truck was a MONSTER!! Only thing was I kept breaking things and dumping waaayy too much money into it.. Had to let it go but it was fun when it was working. Good luck!

  11. The needle is from a magnum jet kit.. Originally it had the needle from a Toomey kit but replaced it with the magnum RED one. That would be 4th clip from the blunt end! Too rich on the needle? So as for now with the mods mentioned I should start with a 340 main, 27.5 pilot and what needle setting for 115ft above sea with temps 50-60 degrees?

  13. You might be right.. I'll see how the pods fit tomorrow, thanks for the advice! I really try to stay away from mud even with the box. Tomorrow will be the day I find out. Hows your rebuild comming? Is everything running good?
  14. Thanks for the pics, I'll be sure to cut those off tomorrow. As for the Mains I'll grab some 330's and 40's as soon as my local shop opens in the morn. I bought the bike a month ago with T5's as the only upgrade and as far as jets they had 270 mains and 25 pilots.. The last two weeks I been installing all the other upgrades which is the Noss heads with 21cc domes, boss intake, v-force 3 reeds, timing advanced +4 and the pods. Tomorrow I'll be finishing it up and starting her for the first time will the upgrades. I guess I should have realized since it ran great in the upper RPM's before but was really rich in the lower RPM's that I should have jumped way higher on the mains with these upgrades. Will the 30's for pilots be ok or should I change? Thanks for all the help guys!
  15. Earthtools says I'm 115ft above sea level.. Jeff at fast asked where I was located and suggested 300 mains 30 pilots and needle on the 4th clip.. Should I go buy larger mains?
  16. Thanks.. I'll cut those hooks off to save the outterwears like you said. I was just worried the pods which are 6" would put too much force on the carbs and cause them to fall off. Now lets just hope the 300's I'll be putting in are big enuff!
  17. I'll be installing my K&N pods with outterwears tomorrow but noticed when removing the air box that it helped support the carbs! The air box hooked into these hooks on the frame to put pressure on the carbs to keep them from falling I'm guessing. What do yous use or will I even need anything? TIA

  20. What are you doing as far as filter.. Stock airbox, no lid or pods? Your jetting also depends on your port work and would ask the person that ported it what he thinks.
