I think blasters come with a 230 for a main stock. Well thats what my sons blaster had in it when we pulled the carb. We installed an LRD adjustable exhaust with K&N no lid, jetted with a 290 and left the pilot the same which I think is a 35  . Bike runs great!

I've read somewhere that you could use the pink panther insulation to pack the silencers with. I tried it out on my sons blaster equiped with LRD's and it worked great!

Hey guys isnt the gear oil overfill hose routed to the top of the steering stem? I overfilled my gear oil on my banshee and my sons blaster once and it leaked onto my pipes. Look above your pipes in the steering stem area and you will see a hose with nothing on the end of it... I'm new to these bikes but pretty sure thats where it routes too but correct me if I'm wrong!

Mmm.. Powerband!!

Got a bunch of Banshee parts

Do you have a chain adjuster for a blaster, only need one? Swingarm skid for a banshee? Tie rods and ends for banshee? Shoot me a pm with pricing if you have it. -
Switch the plug wires and see if that side runs.

Did they bore out the cylinders and were the pistons/rings installed the correct size to match the bore? If your gauge isnt broke and your getting the same compression as you did before the top end work than it sounds like you needed to go up a size! I really hope its just your gauge or something minor. When you ran the compression test did you keep the throttle open? I hear your supposed to as you get a different reading.

The jet kit you mention from Jeff must be the magnum kit that comes with 300 mains, 30 pilots and red needles. I got the same kit from him but only used the needles cause the mains were too small and I was told the pilots were too big. Let me know how those 30's work out with that needle!

Are the slides in the right carbs? Are the bowls on the right carbs? Is the choke tube connected? If its idleing than im sure the choke tube is connected but I would check to make sure the slides are in the correct way with the half moon facing the pods and the bowls are on the correct carb. The bowls are different so make sure! If the bike ran fine before the upgrades than its got to be something not installed right with the carbs because your jetting sounds about right. Whats the gap set to when you did the timing plate?

thanks, because i live in mass. too and was wondering the same thing

I'm using Honda HP2 32:1 right now and like it alot with maxima in the gearbox. Think I'm gonna look into that ^ Amsoil, from what I heard sounds interesting!
-
Hmm... I'm not really familiar with those carbs but it does sound like your mains are way too small.. Your starving that bitch!
-
I concur.. The boss racing intake with the built in crossover is a very nice piece.
-
Hmm.. Interesting! Does anyone know the price on that? I'm looking to do my suspension next.

Yeah thats the same reason I removed the ones in there... Wasnt sure if they were stock or from the toomey kit when the previous owner installed the pipes, I heard different stories about the toomey needles. I'll take a pic later and maybe someone would know the difference when they see it. If they are stock I'll prolly just reinstall them if others say they are better. Thanks for that bit of info,
-
Yeah man you and a few others mentioned it as the first thing to check for, my dumb ass figured it was something more serious like bad reeds or my head being put on wrong. Its just that I upgraded soo many things at once I figured it one of them. As for the needle there's only 5 notches, do you really think I should go to the 4th from the 3rd of the blunt end? Might be untrue but I was told with the vforce 3 reeds I should be able to go a notch leaner! I'll do a plug chop this weekend and get all of your opinions again if even the needle setting will show up on the chop.

Fuckin choke tube!! Was performing an air leak test and touched the nipple where the hose should have been and felt vaccume/pressure comming from the carbs.. Duh!! Grabbed a hose and connected it and walla, didnt need the choke anymore and it started perfect! Idled perfect! I adjusted the air screws and all is well.. So right now its running 340 mains, 27.5 pilots, needle set to center of 5 notches and air screws at 1 turn out. I still need to adjust either the needle setting or more adjustment on the air screws because I'm getting a bog on launch and have to raise rpm's to not stall. Will do a plug chop this weekend and see whats up. My temps here are around 55-75 degrees and @ 115 above sea level. Thanks to all that helped me get through installing my mods and getting it all to run right! From broken cylinder studs to the damned choke tube, this site and you guys are GREAT! ~frank

Really? I had 30's in there before and it made no difference and was told that they were too big.. Actually fouled the fuck out of my plugs! I would have thought the same since using the choke and it running better to use a bigger pilot but for some reason it doesnt. Should I go back down to the 25?
