I have a 1986 TRX 250R. Needs Powdercoating. Needs left side case replaced. I bought another leftside to replace the damaged one. Im sure the damaged one can be repaired but I have another leftside case half that is included to fix it. Needs a bore and new piston which would make it .040 over. It has an aftermarket pipe I believe its a pro circuit or FMF its in rough shape so you cant see any writing. New Spider tracker rear tires, K&N airfilter. It has ItP rims but they are also in rough shape no dents just need PC also. All this bike needs is a good PC job, bore and piston and swap the case half and its good to go. No cracks, welds, tweaks or anything like that in the frame. I bought the bike from the second owner and planed on restoring it but I want a yamaha R6 and this needs to go. $1450 By the way I work at a yamaha dealership and I can get you a good deal on the piston. Wiseco, Pro X, whatever brand you prefer I can get.

Yea thats what I thought. I will probly just end up buying new cases. I need to get this bastard up and running so I can either sell the bitch or trade it for a shee. Either way 250r's are still nice bikes and the guy pretty much gave it to me so we will see what happens I might just have to buy a big bore kit for it who knows.

Picking up a Honda TRX 250r this weekend and it spit the chain and took out a decent chunk on the left case. I was wondering if these cases were matched like the banshee cases or can I just buy the left side and call it a day.

Havent been on in a while but saw this and thought I would leave some feedback for ya Dan... Kickass guy here fellas. Bought parts from him in person and he even helped me with a motor I was rebuilding at the time in his shop. Damn I miss my Banshees!!! ::

Yea that was around what I was willing to spend. If it is all rusted up than I might not even bother with it. I think I will call the guy to set up a time to look at it.

Yea I know that the cases split different than the banshee. I hope someone will chime in on this that has tore into one of these before. Someone throw me a ball park figure as to what I should offer for it.

Sold my banshees a while back and its about time to buy another bike but first I Have a few questions for the guys that own honda 250r's and have done motor work on them. My parents know some guy that is selling a 86 250r. I talked to the guy on the phone today and he said that it spit the chain and busted the case on the left side and it doesnt hold oil. It was welded up once before and it spit the chain again and now its not weldable. I was told it has been sitting in the guys back yard for a couple years. I was wondering how hard it would be to split the cases and replace the half that is broken. Do you have to buy cases in pairs like the banshee or could I just buy a left side? What am I getting myself into here I have rebuilt banshee motors how difficult will it be to fix this problem. What should I offer this guy for it, it is all stock no pipe or anything just stock parts, Needs new carrier bearings and it probly doesnt look the best because it has been outside for a few years. I was told that the motor was gone through before the chain damage but you know how that is, If there isnt recipts for the rebuild I dont believe it. I Know I should have posted this in the off topic section but its kinda slow over there.

Ebay price is going to be $3500 if someone on the west coast grabs them they are going to get a hell of a deal seeing how the 87's alone go for $2700+ for a piped and jetted banshee in oregon.

Toomey T5's with toomey silencers. Fast trekker rear tires 75% tread left. Front bandit tires 90% tread left shock covers. aluminum oil dipstick

Hey Dan It wouldnt be right for me to call people out and turn this in to a huge argurment im just letting future buyers that see this a heads up and not to waste my time unless you have the cash. I have posted my price a million times on what I want out of the pair and at the end it says FIRM!!! meaning not a penny less. Alot of people want things and dont have the money I think its these little 14yo kid thinking daddy will give them the money and when the parents tell them no it leaves me hanging. So its not directed to anyone particular just only to the people who read this and you know who you are and the fucture potential buyers that see this will already know what I want and not a penny less.
