thats goofy on the K&N's,I run them in the dunes and get zero sand in the carbs.Also have outerwears.

the blackheat shrink is for splices in the middle of the wire.The clear covers are for the metal pieces once you connect the wires on them.I put the stock harness on my trailtechs.

I'm sure the stock carbs will work fine.You may be surprised from unleashed power in bigger carbs.I'm not sure but I'll be able to tell you after my 1st trip to the dunes. :biggrin: You do have ported jugs!
