  1. is this guy dodgy? should i stay clear?
  2. well my engine already has a fresh top end it woul be a shame to waste it..also im in australia and the pistons with the off set gudgen will be a special order if and when i need to rebuild..
  3. [hey thanks guys.. quote name=blowit' date='Jul 25 2007, 12:51 PM' post='700378] Yes it can be done but with much difficulty. Reasoning is because of excessive port timing that will always be a problem. Just fitting the stroke in the hole is a small part of the equation. Basically, to make it right, the ports need to be relocated for the different stroke. I highly recommend aftermarket cylinders for that much stroke. Brandon
  4. first of all can it be done..im aware that the cases will have to be trenched..but by how much i also read some where that a spacer will be needed as well as port timings matched..also id be lookin to do this with a short rod crank if they r available in this stroke..thanks//
  5. hey dude still got the carbs?
  6. where can i buy one new or does any one have one second hand..thanks
  7. i was thinking today..i plan to run a 4mm or 7mm stroker crank..now im aware that the domes will need to be cut to match..which leave the problem of port timing..which the ports will have to be cut down to now match the lower piston height at bdc...can u just skim the bottom of the cylinder?? surely this would have the same effect..so for a 4mm stroker crank skim 2mm of the barrel and 4mm off the head??? or am i way off?
  8. if u r up grading to a bigger crank and want to sell ya 4mm holla at me......but not long rod...
  9. hi i just bought a set of barrels which have been sleaved with the vito 404cc sleaves... bore is currently fresh and at 69.5mm im also wanting to run a stroker crank prob just 4mm. can i run a 115mm long rod in these barrels?, if so whats needed?..i know particular pistons are need with off set gudgen holes are these compatible with the vitos stuff?...or is it better /easier to run a standard 4mm stroker crank .....or can i replace the long rod rods with standard rods?..to shorted the rod .will this still retain the 4mm stroke?..reason for all this is that i can get a very cheep 4mm 115mm crank thanks again..
  10. hey im in australia and im after a company in the states to order my 421cubkit set up..this will include crank and pistons and gaskets...who gives the best price and is trust worthy to make sure it gets here..any one have a price list comparison? thanks..
  11. hey mate .. a stock rz350 will make about 55hpr..depending on what yr modle u have..here in oz thats what a stock one makes...about a 12sec quarter mile..and good for about 200km phr no thats with a standard rz350 gear box and drive chain ratios..it should have prob about 10 hpr on a standard banshee but lots more bottom end and mid range due to the ypvs
  12. ok if i run a 4mm long rod..115mm i need those special pistions..is this also the case if i use the 420cc cub kit..? in other words ..i want to up grade my engine i will statr with the crank first im addvised to get long rod..then when i have more monny ill get the cub 68mm bore cylinders will this still all work..ps im still aware that the head will have to match the hights of the new crank..
  13. thanks guys thats all i needed to know..iv always loved this forum...so informative with out being the c**k show other forums seem to have going ..thanks alot..
  14. hey thanks guys... will in the risk of offending..this engine will not be going into a banshee.. i have a 2001 cagiva mito road bike..originally it came with a 125 single 2stroke engine..since i bought it i put a rz350 in it..(i have owned and ridden rz,tzr, rgv, etc for the past 12yrs..) these r all production race 2 strokes..the bike will be raced . the bike its self will have no problem handleing this much power ..even tho the original bike only put out 25 or so hpr..the chasis was built and designed for the up grades of bigger twins and singles..chambers are no worries either..so basically as the bike is at the moment at about 60hpr at 115kgs wet.. i just wanna spend the money in the right places..thanks guys for all your help...
  15. so let me get this straight...if im to opt for a 4mm cub..i can use stock cases,no mods and head..no mods, and this will bolt on? and in..to make 420cc an aproxx 80-90 rwhpr(understanding that carbs and chambers also have therir role..what size reed cages are in a cub..?
  16. ok ive been savin my pennies and am getting ready to make the big bore jump..just wondering ..whats the biggest cub available(non pv) and best if so biggest crank combo to run with it..id like at least 80-90hpr at the back wheel on regular pump fuel..i understand that 4mm is the biggest crank i can go standard with out moddin my cases..i guess im after 2 sinarios..1 biggest bolt on combo..2 biggest over all..case mods etc? thanks im planning on buying them from f.a.s.t they seem to have the best rep..
  17. ok..im still a little vague on this please slap me..lol.. im currently building a 3 cylinder rd/rz/banshee baced engine..i would like to use a 10mm stroke crank or what ever is easyest.....is this posible with stock jugs..if so how, im aware that i would have to gutter the cases to fit the crank but then would it simply be a matter of lifting the barrels and a pistion with a different pin location to acomodate port timing..thanks..
  18. can i get 68mm pistions available with same gudgen pin hight and everything..who makes them?
  19. im lookin to make a tripple id like to use some big bore cubs or something..but dont want to have to cut one set in half..r there any non momo block big bore barrels..?
  20. i have one i bought bit it doesnt fit my bike..(cagivamito with rd350lc enginr) the cross beam gets in the way..im not really sure what its worth..i paid $400au for it with alloy mainfold rubber intake and carb 32mm anyone interested..im in australia...but make me an offer..
  21. ok thanks...so if i cut the domes..what about all the other transfee and exaust ports,,will they need to be altered?
  22. if im to run a stroked crank of 4mm..will simply using a bace plate re aline all the ports and stuff..or will port timming still be an issue..? i know that pple are not a fan of the bace plate as it creates one more place to posibly leak..but if i did it i would seem weld it on to the barrels ..thanks..
  23. wow no one..thats suprising...
  24. yeah yamaha did make a bike with adjustable timing..the early rd350lc..not the pv modle...and guys actually retard their timing..not advance it..this is done when engine is tunned really high..its retarded to stop it reving too high and detonation giving more engine life...but im sure there would be more infor on these bikes about timming...and they r almiost identical to a banshee engine
