Ok guys, I'm building a 358 cub motor. I currently have FMF Fatties, I know these will not work that great on the cub. But I want to keep my CFM aluminum airbox, and I believe that neither the CPI or Shearer pipes will allow me to do this. Does anyone have suggestions?

They also make forced air propane heaters that are a little cheaper. But the propane gets expensive.
-
It does smell a little bit, but only on startup for like the first 30 seconds each time it starts. Kero is like $2.50 a gallon around here. You can also use fuel oil, diesel fuel, and jet fuel in these heaters....they are all very similar fuels.

pipe hitting against fuel (petcock)

Remember guys, he said FMF Rev pipes...they don't make them anymore and are fairly rare. Maybe they are quite a bit different compared to the fatties. -
I really prefer kerosene forced air heaters for heating a garage, they heat way faster than the radiant heaters. This is the one I have, it works great. The kerosene heaters use less fuel than propane. This heater will run continuosly for like 12hrs on 6gal of fuel....but you'll never run it continuosly. A full tank will probably last all week. This guy was good to deal with too. http://cgi.ebay.com/MR-HEATER-75K-FORCED-A...1QQcmdZViewItem

Sounds like water in the cable is freezing. Use a cable luber and lots, and I do mean lots of WD-40. WD stands for Water Displacer....that's what it was originally designed to do.
-
First, make sure your cable is in good shape and not kinked or routed wrong. Then I would lube it really well with WD-40 as it will displace water. Make sure the carb slides, springs, and main bodies where the slide contacts are not worn or coroded. Check for the same in the throttle housing.

You can pick used ones up on Ebay for like $25 shipped. You may have to grind a little on the throttle stop in the 400ex throttle to get the slides to open all the way. It is easy to do. I believe somebody posted that they tested the banshee vs 400ex throttle with a fish scale using the same carb and spring setup for both. The stock one was like 6lbs of pull and the 400ex was like 4. It does make a huge difference. And if you don't like the top saying HONDA figure in another $25 or so for a nice billet cover on ebay also.

Get the springs from Fast and get a 400ex throttle. It makes it waaaaayyyyy easier.

yeah, motion pro and Terry Cable. Fast has them. Motion pro # is 01-0813 I believe.

I like the idea, but the thought of hot coolant being blown back on me doesn't sound great. -
What brand of pistons? Is that price for 2 pistons or two sets of pistons?

Looks like a good price. Auction # http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Banshee-dra...074280464QQrdZ1

Most organizations have a max width of 50"

The individual class points are based on a score of 25pts per race. 1st place in that class gets 25pts, 2nd place gets 24pts, etc etc. The overall pts are based on a score of 100pts per race. 1st person to cross the finish line for the day out of the entire field gets 100pts, 2nd person gets 99pts, etc. But remember, the pro class starts first then class 1 then 2 etc. So for a class 2 guy to get say 100 pts it would mean he had to pass all the guys in class 1 and pro and remain the leader untill the race is over. So it's much harder for a great rider in a lower class to get lots of overall pts because he's starting on unfair ground. Also, some of the races had double pts so thats why you see 200 for some of them.

I have some more info about the tire balls for ya. They are found in Walmart toy section....hopefully they still have them. There are two different kinds, make sure you get the ones that you can stick an airpump needle in and deflate them. I guess one kind will deflate one kind will not. Then you want to deflate them stuff them in your tires nice and tight, then pump them all up. Phil told me the rears hold about twenty balls per tire and the fronts hold like 13.

Ok, you gotta think how these guys start. The pros go first, then QXC-1 and so on. The overall standing are figured out based on how the person finishes amongst all riders in all classes. Whereas the individual standings only use the riders from that class. I know it's a little confusing, but really the overall standings don't mean squat. I guarantee that Corbin Knox is one of the 2 or 3 fastest guys running in that series, but since he rode QXC-1 last year, he didn't do so great in the overall standings. Plus he had a few DNF's do to part failures. He will be running pro this yr. He has passed all the pro class guys and led a few races last yr even. Just mainly had bad luck.
-
I'm not sure exactly, I think they are like $2 a ball. I'll try to find out more info. I'm pretty sure they are in the toy section.
-
Oh, and it takes a lot of them by the way.
-
Yep, a lot of my friends are running the little walmart balls. They went and ordered a couple cases together, they seem to work really great....you can even get things like spongebob...lol. The idea is that if the tire gets damaged you won't lose much air. You can pop a few balls and still be fine. Some guys use just the balls, some put in the balls and add air to the tire. If you do much cross country racing, you'll need them. Flats are common and will end your day pretty much.
-
I've never ran a cross country race, just MX. Maybe this year I'll have to bring the cubby out...haha that should be fun.
-
About 15 mins from Cody's shop. I don't know him too well. I'm really good friends with some other guys that race that series, you probably know some of them if you do also. Corbin Knox, and Chad Baker mainly.

I think using some nice aftermarket 250r or 400ex shocks might be the best way. They can usually be found for a pretty decent price now that everyone wants 450's. They are 1/2" longer than the yfz450 shocks but a little shorter than 450r shocks.

Any thoughts on how these tires might work? Look a lot like holeshots or razrs but in 18x9.5x8 like turf tamers that lots of guys use. I might try a set for that price. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/18x9-5x8-AT...1QQcmdZViewItem
