  1. Check out a set of PIAA bulbs. Awesome!! You need the H6M bulbs. Night and day difference.
  2. This is what I set mine up to today. 5 + Caster, 4 - Camber, and 1/8" toe-in.
  3. It must be something in the air.... I was planning on heading out with 2 other groups but they both canceled today. Anyone got room for another RV at their site? I'm just heading out on my own...my girl has to work on Monday!! Not too rowdy, in my 40s, and I have a penchant for Miller Light  I'll be bringing the Wood though... Jay From SanD.
  4. Do you use the Yamaha stocker rubber/steel hanger bracket or an aftermarket billet one? I've wondered what the tab failure rate was with the solid hangers.....
  5. Thanks for the info. It doesn't seem like it really matters... I guess I'll just pick up which ever one is the best price. Let me know if you can hook up on a second one!! I'm not sure of the color I'd want though. Red would look good against the blue, but so would the chrome or blue.... Jay.
  6. I see that both PD and Noss use the same o ring design, does one manufacturer offer a better replacement o ring set? I think Noss has a couple of red ones while the PD's are all the same black color. Does it matter? Did anyone look at that Chariots Performance Head in the other thread? I like how small it is and the fact that it uses a lot less o rings. Don't a lot of aftermarket pipes hit the PD and Noss heads? It looks like it also has less coolant capacity in the dome area though. I wonder if that would matter. That just leaves more clearance for pipes!! Anyone on those o rings? Jay From Sandy...ego.
  7. Sitting at 80 bucks with a day to go.... Shipping is $15.00 http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/YAMAHA-BANS...1QQcmdZViewItem
  8. Nice looking head...I wonder what the liquid capacity is? It looks like a bit more than stock, but a lot less than Noss or PD. May not be an issue though...time will tell. If good feedback comes from it, I'll have one!! I like the minimalist look and the 1/3 amount of o rings. Not to hijack, ...here is the but... but since both PD and Noss use the same o ring design, is one manufacturer have better replacement o rings? I'm still liking that triple chromed head!! I wonder what I can get for my PD??
  9. 210H/P with "Minor Modifications".... RRRrriiiiighttttTTT!! (C'mon, say it like Dr. Evil!!) I'd like to ride a 105 H/P CR500. If there was one, I'd ride a HonDuh. Dream on.
  10. 1 ounce of oil to 1 quart of fuel is 32 to 1 ratio.
  11. If I were to throw in my 2 cent guess, this could be a design to pressurize the float bowls in a pressurized air box configuration. On street bikes that have ram air and carbs, you have to pressurize the bowls too.

    hubs

I don't know if this is accurate, but according to RMATV, your '89 and my '02 Banshee use the same axle. So the hubs should fit.
  13. I picked up a set of CPIs because some have told me they made MORE midrange than T5s on motors built very similarly to mine. Looking at your sig, is your motor ported? I'd imagine so, based on your accessories but you didn't list it. If not, porting will give you more top end!! That would be my next step!!
  14. I picked up a set of CPIs (thanks, Frogger) and am gonna install them when my RIS collars (thanks jbooker82 for the heads up) come in. I'm switching out my FMF Fattys and was wondering....do you think I'll have to go richer, leaner, or run the same jetting to sport my shiny, new CPIs? Thanks, Jay.
  15. Thanks a lot, Snop...you saved me 400 beers on reeds I was skeptical about in the first place!! I'm running the Boyesen 2-stage "Power Reeds" and was thinking of switching to the VF3s. I looked on the http://www.dynoport.com/index.html site and couldn't find anything on their porting. I wanted to check out the intended performance mod. Is this where yours was done? for the next beer binge!! Jay From San Diego.
  16. First, welcome to the HQ!! You only have a handful of posts so let me help you out by pointing out the search button on the top-right corner. This topic has been covered a gazillion times in a myriad of ways, but the short version is there is no one pipe that works best. Use it to help figure out the best setup for you by seeing what others are running with setups similar to yours---or what yours will be after your future mods within the same type of riding you do. Different setups work better with different pipes. A lot of people use T5, CPIs, Shearers, FMFs, Paul Turners, Trinitys, DMCs, etc. There really is no one best pipe. Pipe selection is a combination of what pipe works best with your mods in conjunction with desired power delivered at what RPM. It is easy to make a pipe that has the best top end only, but it will have horrid bottom end and mediocre mid. There is no free lunch and every aspect is a part of the combination. T5s are a good balance of those factors. Look at people's signatures and see what they run.... I just bought some CPIs and all I do is dune and hill shoot at Glamis!!
  17. I don't have any rear stock hangers so I need to acquire some... They should mount up fine to your OEM r/hanger.
  18. I'm looking for some excellent condition Small Bore CPI Collars and rear hangers. What'cha got?? Shipping to San Diego. Jay. On another note....what is a good brand choice for collars if I have to go retail??
  19. Hey man, I'm not really sure what you are asking. We use ounces here...and I can do the metric conversion, but don't you want the answer in liters? You would use 375ml or 12.67 ounces to get a 32/1 ratio to 12liters. How many tanks will your rides be? If it is just one, bring the amount of oil to mix a specific amount of fuel. If it was me, I'd just bring a pint bottle and use the measurement on the side of the bottle...Yamalube 2R you can see the oil level and read the graduation marks. If it's more than one tank, bring a quart. And to answer your question about dumping oil in the tank... I used to do what you are trying to do because I'd leave a quart of oil at a gas station and would fill up there. I would put 4 ounces of oil in a glass bottle and fill it with fuel. Swirl it around and mix it real well. Then I would pump a gallon of fuel into my tank as I dumped my mix. When the tank was nearly full, I'd mix up a quart with 1oz and top it off. Not a fan of just dumping oil in the tank, ya gotta mix it up!! The idea that riding will mix it up is not really true...unless you are racing MX... Hope that helps... Jay from SanD.
  20. Not in my neighborhood. We have 2 NRA Life Members and an ex Ranger/Special Forces guy on my street. Anyone that mistakenly tries to jack anything here will get caught in a crossfire!! Just gotta remember to put a knife in his hand....
  21. FMF website ballpark recommendation:http://fmfracing.com/techsupport/jettingcenter.aspx In fact, when the jetting is lean I think it usually runs the best it ever has....then seizes!!
  22. So I bought the T5s, then decided to go with CPI SB Inframes. I ordered them yesterday 1/29 from Frogger (thanks, man) and they should be here tomorrow, 1/31. So now I'm looking at a Brand New set of T5s in that brown box direct from Toomey... I may have to find a new home for them!! Not that my 'shee was a slug or anything, but these should wake it up!! Thanks for the photos, Josh. Because of you, I have 2 sets of brand new pipes!! j/k... :yelrotflmao: But really, thanks for your help in my choosing the CPIs. Will I have to get a set of rear hangers or are the usually included with the pipes? My fattys just bolt straight up to the bar. Anyone have a favorite pipe collar I should take a look at? I bet my Cascade collar for the Fattys won't fit.
  23. I have the PWK 33s...and I like them!!!
  24. I want to pick up a billet impeller and was wondering if they are all the same or if there is a brand I should stay away from. Seems like the Pro Design is a good one...is it the same one as the Vito's impeller? I found a company called Billet Torchworks that sells one for $40.00 + shipping... Thanks for your input, Jay from SanD.
  25. Angle Finder at Harbor Freight...on sale for $2.39. Regularly $5.99: http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/disp...temnumber=34214 Instructions on how to set up your front end from LSR: http://www.lsracing.com/img/Guide_21.pdf You don't have your mods listed, so I don't know if you have a stock front end or if you have fully adjustable aftermarket suspension. If it is stock, you only need a measuring tape because you can only set toe-in. Fully adjustable, you need the angle finder and a measuring tape to do camber, caster, and toe. Hope this helps. Jay From SanD.
