  1. first, delete the tors.
  2. You spent time making sure its done right. You should be proud of yourself.
  3. So the viper is junk, tto is great....
  4. I didnt doubt your claims. I just asked if you do this for a living or on the side which you did answer about 5 hours ago. I hated to see you post what/how you did in sheerider's thread. I dont even understand how dyno numbers effect what the rider feels or how fast the bike goes. I'm ignorant to all that stuff. I'm just another hq member that knows only what he reads.
  5. and yet we got people that come in here and other threads saying how their ports can do better etc. Crap like that assures me ill never give them business.
  6. You can download a copy of photoshop in that case. I really get tired of people asking what numbers my truck or bikes make or how fast they go. But whatever. It's conversation.
  7. Which is why I don't want that.
  8. I used to think the same way. I threw tons of money at power and always had stock suspension. Now i wish i could go back in time and tell myself to do suspension before anything else. I'm currently saving for full fox float suspension and good quality a-arms. I want to enjoy long rides without being punish by crap suspension. If ever i get another banshee it will be bolt ons with awesome suspension.
  9. which inline temp gauge are you guys running? I wouldnt mind having to get off my bike to see the temp.
  10. With how "easy pull" levers work is they make the pivot point different. Id be afraid my clutch wasn't fully disengaged. A good lubed cable, regular $5 lever, lock up clutch with a ton of weight with 6 light/stock clutch springs is my fav combo. I used white lithium grease to lube my cable. I wouldnt mind trying another product if something exist.
  11. If money wasnt an issue, then i would of bought a bike is way better condition. You can easily spend wany more doing a frame up build than buying one already done.
  12. Thats probably what im close to right now. I went with billet. I didnt feel comfortable going a cheaper route. After reading all these post, im glad i did
  13. do you(camatv) own bike shop that does port work and sell stuff like other vendors here or just does it on the side
  14. I wouldnt try to make anything a sleeper. One run and people will know what's up. Word gets around etc. Plus it's pretty lame trying to play mods off that are there.
  15. then my money is on the 450.
  16. here's a pic i just googled "clutch perch" http://images.motorcycle-superstore.com/productimages/300/0000_sunline_oem_clutch_perch.jpg It's the part that attaches to the handle bars. The clutch lever screws onto it. Maybe there's another term for it but that's what i call it.
  17. for the brake yes, lever only. clutch comes with the perch. Does anyone know if they still sell refub units? I got my old set for about $50 shipped for both off ebay many years ago.
  18. Great time to think about putting a teather kill switch on your next build.
  19. I havent yet. I only learned of it when 10milmike mentioned it a couple months ago in a thread. I figure if it works for his asphalt bike, then it will work for me for a long time. I looked it up on Autozone's website and it's only $17 a quart. So im going to give it a shot. I'm mostly interested in protecting my clutch since ill be slipping it a good bit experimenting with gearing a new bike/engine set up.
  20. I will stop using atf-f. Mine breaks down in less than 3 hours of riding.
  21. ^ Finally, someone who gets it
  22. Cameron, you gave me a HUGE break on labor sir. Let's not forget i sent you an old trans that had sat for years and a dirty blown motor i rushed to get sent off. He didnt have to do that and i was prepared to pay more. He went beyond for me. As for the time frame it took, that was agreed on before and i dont find it took too long. There were parts that had trouble getting in from his vendors out of his control. The super serval cylinders had to be custom made and that took the most time. Again, out of redline's control. There's also stuff life the custom cool head i wanted that took time. That's something i wanted that added time. This was a new build/combo never done so there can be set backs. It would of been wrong for me to rush the builder. Plus it didnt take too long. Every thing worked out great. The time was taken to explain me what parts it takes to properly build a 10mil and even step it up to a big bore since i knew nothing at all about it. My questions were always answered before during and after the build. That's exactly how a builder should do it. Also my custom pipes and other stuff i got with the engine to complete set up arrived in a timely fashion. It was my pleasure having this build done. Hopefully people who are looking for the next step over the 465 serval can use the info you learned from my build to build their own 521 or whatever they want. Also a special thanks to the owner of the 465 posted on sharing his build info to better help me select which engine i wanted to do.
  23. I havent added up the additional cost on paper yet from going from 10mil to 10mil super but i didnt want to say i shoulda went bigger. What made me decided the 521 was enough was i didnt want mattoon cases. I think if we could easily fit bigger than a 10mil crank in stock cases with just trenching, we would see more greater than 10mil stroked bikes.
  24. I agree but on the other hand, hq readers may be looking for the info. Just wanted to clear up a few things. Also to the OP, i cant comment on how my power is compared to others listed. My bike isnt finished and i havent ridden many other bikes especially with the ones you listen in the thread title. Previously i had a ~60-65hp stock cylinder 4mil so this will be quiet a difference im sure. Good luck with your choice.
  25. That 521 dyno'ed engine posted was designed(read as ported and set up) with things in mind of how the rider uses it and wanted power delivery. Not fancy peak numbers. You can call redline and discuss what you may be ae to do on higher octane and more compressiom which is what that 521 dynoed did not want. Pump gas was chosen due to the pita drive to get race fuel. If the heads have issues like mentioned, it will be sold. However since the builder didnt mention that potiential, then I have zero worries. I feel it will be a reliable 521 on pump gas.
