Wow, Thats kinda harsh... Of course riding a quad without a helmet is stupid but these people where just killed. Im kinda bumed about it not anry.... around here it is so uncommon to see someone riding without a helmet that it is totally frouned apon and virtually no one does it. but when I was out in maine me and my buddys went riding with some locals and when we where putting on our helmets they where like "what are you doing we never wear helmets out here" We rode with about 15 people and we where the only 3 with helmets but being from NY it seemed so weird without one on,so we just kept wearing them anyway. and it was a good idea. It sucks that his gives the anti atv queers another step up but is also sucks that these people just lost their lives... What a bummer!!!

NYUK Ill pm ya on that...

do they last longer backwards?? Ive heard that about other tires but never believed it... I run roads all the time. prolly 65% of my total ride time is spent on pavement. Maybe more. I run 15-30 miles on paved road some times. balls to the walls from one bar to another with a buch of friends . It rules!!! but its hard on tires.

thats the way to be... Hey you dont have a good aftermarket head for sale do ya????

piped banshee vs piped yfz vs piped quadzilla
nickxc replied to 2K1Banshee350's topic in General Banshee Discussion
oh ya and... on the "OTHER" sites the people are quick to answer and say their quads will win. not the truth. " my warrior smoked a piped banshee" "my wolverine ran side by side with a yfz 450" its all b.s. people on this site want the facts so they can answer the question truthfully... -
piped banshee vs piped yfz vs piped quadzilla
nickxc replied to 2K1Banshee350's topic in General Banshee Discussion
damn man... Ive done it and seen it done. when all variables are equal (I mean traction, do it on pavement, that way traction isnt a variable its just whos motor produces more power/who is a better rider on his respective quad). both quads have good pipes line em on pavement and run em as far as you want. The banshee will win. swithch riders and as long as the yfz rider knows how to get off the line he will beat you on your banshee. Ive been there a couple times... Thats my answer and im sticking to it... -
um... not really, not without taking the head off and/or the side covers...

I found a set of bandits in my size (20x10x10) I needed a set of tires that had a hard rubber compound and thick lugs cause I ride alot of roads... I have been calling all over the USA trying to find some cause, I guess, pure sports went out of business. and I finally found a set for $49.95 each. from carbides motor world.

could anything pressurize the cooling system?
nickxc replied to nickxc's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
I have a temp guage and its been runnin between 130 degrees and 170 degrees depending on how fast Im going and how hot it is out. I have flushed my rad. and it flows fine. also my rad is always warm and seems to be cooling the motor good. I thought the reason the coolant was cold (comming out of the over flow) was because the pressure was forcing the coolant back into the bottle and the cold coolant from the bottle was flowing from the bottle to the tube and out. With my rad cap off I can see movement in the coolant.... idk this is killing me... -
The most comfy quad I have ever ridden is a scrambler 500 Its also the last quad Id ever buy but its comfy. Thick seat and tons of soft suspension...

I have been putting head gaskets on all summer. I had my head checked and its perfectly straight. I checked my cylinder decks and everything appears fine. I have been torquing the nuts to 20ftlbs and lately to 22ftlbs just trying to stop this coolant pressurizeing problem I have been having and nothing is working. I was told to try putting yamabond on my headgasket and putting it back in and I think Im gunna try it. I will take an old head gasket and use carb cleaner to strip all the paint. then take yamabond and put it on my finger and put as thin a coat as possible all over both sides of the head gasket. Do you think this is a good idea or is it possible for something else to be pressurizeing the system and causing coolant to come out the overflow.... PLEASE HELP!!!!! The most I have noticed this is when the motor is good and hot (after running hard) and I let her idle for a couple seconds (long enough to open a gate and push the quad through and then close the gate behind me) Then I hit it WOT up the road hitting gears and I get antifreeze on my let from the overflow tube (its never been hot, always cool)... just fyi... any help please

I dont think it would be the gas. I would think you would have no trouble with 20cc domes running premium pump gas... I would slap a set of larger mains in and hit her again and see if it was starving for fuel... Idk though if it was running fine before you shouldn't have to jet up for a diff. head... idk try it...

That kicks ass... it looks like its gunna be a mixed baby. moms white and dads black... hahahahahahahahahahahahaha

Anyone else snap chains constantly?
nickxc replied to Maverick302's topic in General Banshee Discussion
my guess too. try to support your rear end and see if you can twist your axle at all... I know I do burnouts and doughnuts in the road all the time. I get her in the high R's on pavement and let off and immediatly hit it again (just for the head wrenching feeling of that 2 stroke twin) and this snaps the chain back and forth hard and Im still on my stock chain and sprokets and mines an 01 I do go throught head gaskets like its my job though so dont feal bad... anyway Id def. check those bearings out cause your chain wont bend back and forth with out breaking... good luck!! -
I have 3's in my sled and 2's in my dads with very similar mods other than that. I was shown a dyno graph this winter that showed the same exact sled making almost 1.5 more hp with 2's over the 3's. I heard that was why moto T took so long releasing 3's for other applications (other than sleds). The big sell on the 3's over the 2's is the ease of repairs. The 3's can be snapped right apart and new reed petals put in with out any tools at all. the 2's require a small phillups head. but I am ditching my 3's and getting a set of 2's since seeing that dyno chart. If they have been released for the shee your best bet is to wait till everyone starts buying them and buy a set of 2's from ebay for cheap...

cool guys thanks for the info. I am loosing like 1 tsp per 3 or 4 hour ride. not much at all just little drops that fling back on the frame. I think for now I'll just let it go and hope it dosn't get any worse before I take her in for the winter... Thanks again... -

I wish I could get one of the lt1 caprices I heard they walked all over the vic's from cops Ive talked to... -
Im just wondering if you have ridden a raptor yet?? cause they aren't anywhere near where a banshee is as far as power and there are alot better quads out there. However raptors are a good quad I dont mean to dis them but you are definately gunna take a power loss... anyway... back to your question. The shoot out dirtwheels did showed that the white bros E series put out the most hp out of any of the pipes they tested. (I believe Please correct me if Im wrong someone...) And if you dont end up getting a pipe take your snorkel off and cut a large hole in the top of the air box... Then change your jets from a 140/145 (stock) to a 160/165 combo. I did this on my buddys stock raptor and he gained nice HP. before he could just barely get a wheelie in 3rd now he is riding them out in 4th and he said he gained a lot of topend. He can almost beat me on top end if I dont use 6th gear

come on. no one has any ideas on this. There are over 3000 members on this site and no one has had this problem before????? This is why I usually post questions like this in general discussion. cause I get lots more replies there. but it usually gets moved anyway... if anyone can help me I would appreciate it... Thanks again!! -
