  1. im curious on how the four strokes will be this year. Every new season I always like to see how much closer they are getting to running down some banshees.
  2. Its true! Im using that night to tune for this upcoming season. Bringing out the new 4 mil. and a couple slow 4 strokes!
  3. I was planning on going up on the front to a 15. Riding it to see how it runs. Here is my issue, i believe that its overreving as i near the top with the current 14-46. With the 15 frontit should help out on top end a ton. If its a problem i can then always toss a bigger sprocket on the rear. Ideally on the ratio chart where do you want to be? The bike launchs great, however in 5th gear i feel like i could use some more grunt. Well see! i just figure changing the fronts are easier then the rear!
  4. Picked up a 45 front and 45 and 47 rear, that should cover me on both ends.
  5. im running 10 paddle extremes. i have 2-5 override, +8 swinger The gearing is where im struggling. Right now it has 14 46. We are going to glamis for the night drags and i plan to bring a 15 tooth front as well as 44, 45, rear. Its a hill bike so i think my combo will end up 15-45. well see.
  6. I figure it will be. this bike is my first drag only banshee so i wanted to get used to it on gas before the switch. I think it will be a nice gain with the drag pipes and alky.
  7. Just finished Dynoing my 4mil on the dyno jet. GAS. In frame shear pipes. My average of 10 runs with jetting changes was 86hp and 47.2 torque. Not bad for what i started with (48hp on the bike before dumping money into it!) For halloween it will be alky and small bore shear drag pipes (out frame) Im looking for as close to 100 as possible. im thinking it should hit mid to high 90's. Just curious on any of you guys who have made similar changes and the outcome.
  8. Im no expert but thats the plan. THey say the front equals 3 on the rear. Smaller rear is more top end Bigger front more top end. Both of these changes could affect the launch. Either way im tossing a 15 on the front and working from that point!
  9. been buying tires off him for years now. He gets them out fast!
  10. Nice! I think i will pick up a 15 tooth front and then 43,44,45 rear. That should cover me. When the alchol comes i can probably run the 16 front.
  11. The picture is useless. I have been to the superstition riding area. It is just through El centro. Its actually a fun place to ride, the dunes are pretty small, but with knobbies on you can go a bunch of places. There are tons of trails. We actually have camped at Superstition the last two thanksgivings, and it was awesome. They have a nice hill to race, and the kids can ride around the campsites without to much to worry about. I can look for a map if you like.
  12. its on gas now. It runs with the best of them on gas. But yes Alchol will be coming for Halloween. i was planning on a 44-45 on the rear. But you think change the front as well? How much you weigh? Front sprocket is easier to change, so you think if i put a 15-16 on the front i could leave the 46 on the rear?
  13. Your best bet is to buy a junker or a blown bike. use it for either parts or as a reference. i did a project banshee and it was fun none the less, but when time to put back together many bolts look the same. on top of that was the cost! Either way welcome to the money pit club! Enjoy.
  14. A couple of us were going to make it out on the 11th but switched to the 18th. It will be great! Only one of the summer.
  15. 4 mil cub. +8 swinger. Weight 205. any thoughts on gearing for olds? i ran a 14-46 this last time and i feel like i should be running a 44 or 45 in the rear to get some more top end up the hill. Looking to see what similar setups you guys are running. Dune season is almost upon us!
  16. Believe me i know all about the trash bags. I was at the last night drags when all the trash was left behind. I get a ton of flack from just about every website about wanting to have the night drags again and again. I know its an uphill battle but im bored out of my mind! The sad thing about it is that the trash left behind was from people that we all know. The night drags attract the same people each time, so you would think people would police each other. Oh well. I think we may go out on our own and test and tune a bit.
  17. I had heard the same about this saturday. I wasnt sure if it was going to be for sure. Im trying to get the lights still.
  18. Looking to see if anyone wants to head out and hit up olds for a night of Drag racing. I have some lights i plan to bring if we can get enough people. The only thing i would need is the grader if anyone has this. Any input ideas?
  19. Pretty good info. The plan is to run it how it sits now and put it on a dyno. This summer before next season my bike will be going to alchol in which i will dyno with stock cdi/wire etc and then with aftermarket. I was mainly curious if anyone had any dyno sheets in which they could show a difference. Thanks again guys.
  20. Be carefull when you start making your own setups. Not that you cannot do it but it is an exact science to get them ligned up. You dont want stress on the ball joints, or any other place that will snap when under stress. J-arm banshee are not as strong as the a-arm to begin with. If you have the ability i would convert yours to an a arm. good luck,
  21. Think about what kind of riding you do as well. The longer swingers are great, but not if you MX. I run a +8 on mine as well with my cub motor. I ran a +6 before, with a stock banshee ported, pipes , all the goodies.
  22. I did some searching for this on a couple of sights, but here we go. My 4 mill is complete. Its on Gas, your typical setup. The only thing stock i have left on the bike is the electrical, and the radiator. I'm looking for some real data on HP difference with Stock Coil, CDI, etc vs. Aftermarket. It runs great now, but as always i still want every bit of HP. Does anyone have any Dyno Graphs of stock vs any aftermarket electrical? The radiator keeps the bike cool, i have thought about getting an aftermarket radiator but still not sold on it. PWR claims more cooling, and i know that more cooling is always a good thing for HP
  23. I think we need to see a race between the New 500cc banshee , the kawasaki 700 , and a stock banshee with boost bottle. This race will be on a grass field, with all bikes having paddles. What do you guys think?
  24. Man I was going to kill this post. Never really even questioned it. I see so many of these. Good one though It would have been even funnier if you had found a way to work in the new 500cc Banshee!

No problem man i just enjoy giving people a hard time. I love some of the questions about racing, and while i dont claim to be a pro by any means i try and keep it smart. But seriously have you tried Mohawks on the rea with paddles in front?
