    me vs yfz450

a sled with the track maybe, but to me it does not relate. I could certainly be wrong. I just dont understand the method to his madness! I dont know how many threads that we all read on here about racing against this bike vs that bike etc. After reading them i cant believe that they are even questioning it. Who knows maybe im grumpy becuase im losing the office NCAA pool already! I will try out my haulers this weekend at the MX track, and see who i can beat!
  2. I've heard it comes stock with Nos and long travel. We are talking at least 150 hp! Im surprised nobody else has chimed in yet!
  3. True if you can wait. I can get you 3-4 banshees with various mods here in phoenix right now. Yes they are no longer making them, but there are so many out right now its insane. Id give it 10 years or so before i start seeing value go up. 250rs while not as many are out i still see plenty of them in the trader. Thats the whole thing about bikes, trucks, boats, etc. They are money pits, no way around that.

Paddles in grass? Why not try your front smoothies on the rear! Or some drag slicks in the sand? Come on man. This is a no brainer. Start in 2nd as well.
  5. I think 400ex as well. i picked up a brand new one off of the floor 4k cash. Safe, reliable, you cannot break it, as well not to fast! my 450 my girl can ride but i think for the weight of the bike vs weight of the girl can cause problems. Zero Maint!
  6. Tell me about it. My family is signed up as well. Good effort for those who have signed, especially becuase its something that we can all do from our homes for free!
  7. I know your pain. I was just posting some info on how to contribute to the fight with 10 seconds of your life. Glamis will always be under attack. I just figure if they get small victories along the way it will eventually become easier. Thats all. Did you sign?
  8. I signed up on this link through YFZTech website. It is a petition to keep the dunes open in Pismo. This is how they start, next thing you know they are coming for Glamis again! hope it works for you guys http://www.petitiononline.com/boxer/petition.html
  9. Those directions are perfect. You cannnot miss it. I feel like my gearing wasnt enough, almost like it was over reving. To add teeth in the rear should give me more top end so i dont ref out. It feels like it is going to blow up when pinned in 5th up olds. What was you jetting for Glamis. And what lenght swinger are you running?
  10. I'm running 14/46. I think it was over reving up the hill, i need to add some to the rear. I should know about heading out this weekend tommorow. Whats the gearing for you on your 4 mil? Also what is your timing set at? If it helps I'm 200lbs.
  11. Wow! Those kid tracks people build piss me off like no other. I seperated my shoulder on one of those a couple years back on thanksgiving. People who build those things are idiots. I had no idea on the deaths wow. I did however see pics of the train derailed. What a mess. For any of you Az folks i plan to go out to Hassayampa this sunday, i guess a ton of people will be out. Hopefully one more trip to glamis before its to hot! Then just the night drags, otherwise its time to get the wakeboard out of the closet!
  12. can anyone give me the skinny on little sahara? Im in phoenix, so a summer in the dunes where it is not 120 degrees sounds great! Directions? Drive Time? Things to bring? Permits needed? Etc.
  13. That was me. I will have the Cylinders off and apart this weekend. I lost all compression in mine. I have a pingel as well, running 39mm carbs. I never thought it would run out of fuel, but im almost certain that it did. I ran the bike flat drags for an entire weekend and it ran great. The folowing weekend it was hill racing and it would cut off in 5th gear pinned up olds in glamis. My only hope is that it is not to bad. Sound similar, but werent you on flat ground?
  14. 4 deaths? How? I didnt here of any. I was camped on wash 12, im glad the train didnt go off in my camp! I'd be curious to find out about the deaths. We were at the hill on both nights, it was nice and calm. Also at the drags on Sat. Nothing crazy that i saw.
  15. Any good methods for testing on twin cylinder banshee? Normally i would take out the plugs, turn the gas off, put the tester in the hole, full throttle and kick several times. Check and get a consistent reading. Is it the same way with both cylinders being done individualy? What kind of compression should i be looking at for a 4 mil cub motor, set up for gas? IF you read my thread below about this past weekend at glamis you know what I am getting at. Hopefully something simple, maybe needs new rings. I plan on pulling the head as well to take a look at the pistons.
  16. Anyone know of a cheap one that i can get? Pep Boys, Checker, Auto Zone, Walmart? Help!
  17. no the gas tank is an aluminum drag tank. Vented cap. Its all correct. Im leaning to the idea that it ran out of fuel one to many times. I think I'm going to pull the head tonight and take a look. ::
  18. True! Banshee = fun then = pissed off. Thats why i have my 450 as well. Race the banshee up the hill then run the 450 all weekend! Good times!
  19. With regards to power, it ran strong as hell each time. Flat out Halls ass. If i need to redo the entire top end im going to be pissed off like no other!
  20. Thanks for the help, My last question is if you put a hole in the piston, would it smoke out the pipe or give me any other easy sign? Or am i just wishing?
  21. Isnt this the 3rd thread about racing a banshee against a kawi 700? I raced my buddy on his raptor with a 686 kit, and never really that worried. Just my opinion.
  22. Thats what i figured on the compression. If i did smoke a piston or ring for that matter wouldnt it smoke like crazy out of the corresponding pipe? I figure i would smell it and see all of the smoke? VP 110 mixed with 91 pump gas. Running klotz.
  23. Here is the trick thing. Last week at Gordons well i was breaking it in on flat ground, As well as racing flat ground. This is why i thought about the bowls being ran dry. Up this hill it did have the problems. I guess you could say up the hill I had it in 5th gear a ton more then on the flat drags. The thing that scares me most is the lack of compression when you kick down on the kicker. I wonder if the bowls ran dry if i will have problems in the cylinder head. If so i will proceed to shoot myself in the head as this is a brand new build.
  24. Spark plugs were okay, No metal shavings or anything. Believe me that was what i was worried about. I never thought about running the bowls dry. The gas tank does have a pingel. I will check into that as well.
