Would a few dents in the sweep of an OOF pipe affect performance much at all? They aren't huge, but are definitely noticeable. The worst one is maybe an 1/8-1/4 inch "deep".
Anyone possibly have room for a truck and 20' trailer Saturday? We're coming for the day and figured day parking would be packed by the time we got there. PM me if you do. Thanks.
You should be fine. If the next crank you get has the pin on teh bearing just make sure it lays good in the groove. And on the bottom case, just make sure the crank rotates fine without hitting anywhere.
Sounds like a nice bike, who built the drag frame? You'd probably get more hits if you could post the pics up here.
Email me the pics at [email protected] and I'll post 'em up for ya if you want.
Whew that's some damage. I had a buddy hit a light pole in about the same spot. Was in hospital for over a month and had to have open heart surgery (not quite sure how a heart valve was hurt, must have been a hell of an impact).
You can just use spacers to fix the pipe fitment issue. I've had to do that with my Shearers, which the old ones are notorious for not fitting well on the stator side. Most of the CPI's I've seen have fit well, and would complement that motor nicely.
There's a sand track in Atoka, OK. I'm not sure of any other dirt/sand drags in TX. Used to be one in Texarkana, and used to be one around Paris, TX I believe.
It can. If the ball and rod just weld together, sometimes you can get it out by just taking the clutch basket/outer hub off. If it welds to the clutch arm, you gotta split the cases.
The kicker gear should be behind the idler gear if I remember correctly. So it pulls out away from the motor when you kick it. Not sure if that's what you meant in your explanation.
Yes the parts may come from the same place, but some shops test different rods and components to see which works best for what they want. They are NOT all the same.
