  1. Curious if anyone has switched to cable chokes on 35pwk's instead of the knob chokes? I'm getting tired of pulling off the seat to get at both chokes. If anyone has switched to a cable system can you include part#'s and where you got them.
  2. I might be interested. Depends on how well they fit a Trinity cheetah. As in clearing the cylinder head and carb tops. And if you are willing ship to canada.
  3. So which of these pipes fit the cheatah the best?
  4. Now with the sb shearers, i wouldn't have to rotate the carb to clear the pipe? and they will fit with little problems as compared to the pro curcuits? Does anyone have some pictures or links of this this setup? I would like to see some pics of the pipes clearing everything before i make a purchase.
  5. i read "trinity blows" which dam near everyone were complaining about their orings melting or blow by and detenation. i am not drag racing. i own my own lathe so if have to change the squish angle its no big deal. but no one was really complaining about fitment issues, but dam near everyone was running close to a drag pipe, ans the odd toomey. i have pro circuits and they wont fit on the mag side properly. so i am trying to find out which pipe will fit easier in the frame without any more mods.
  6. well camatv the boots are from upp and the boot side is closer to the center of the motor. i place the boot numbered 1 one the mag side and boot 2 on pto side, only made sense. and okbeast i've never heard of pipe spacers, can you give me a bit more detail?
  7. I had recently purchase a 421 cheetah "kit" and i have had some issues with assembling it. it first started with the stud extenders with incomplete treads. then the cylinder domes would not fit between the head studs, filed the recesses to fit. now i am trying to fit the pipes in, which are pro circuit (because i had them already), and one pipe is hitting the cylinder head and carburator (35pwk) on the mag side. has anyone else had this type of pipe problems and how did you correct it? its sad to say it but my stock pipes fit better. which pipes would fit better? no drag pipes! i run fire guard roads, hill climb/pits and attempt to ice race at times. what other fitment issues do i have to look forward to? i have the topic "trinity blows" and did not find it to useful. could be renamed "trinity blows o-rings" jmo. and to the mods, sorry if i had posted this in the wrong section. please move accordingly.
  8. hey 400sbc, i've got a simular setup to you that i am just putting together, only with the trinity head, pro circuit pipes and 35mm pwk's. did you have issue's putting your motor together like the cylinder head not going on easy or the pipes not fitting well? ex: pipe hitting cylinder head or carbs? i cant see much difference in shape between the t-5's and pc's.
  9. I have had the motor pressure checked. It held 6psi for 30 minutes. There are no holes or tears in the carb boots. With anything less than a 35 pilot it stubbles and starts to backfire. although with the dynojet needle and a 420 main, it had a smoother transition into the powerband with a hiccup, but still fall flat in higher gears. pugs are coming out black upto just before mid throttle and then in the high rpm's the plugs are faintly brown with a hint of grey. top of the pistons are mint, exhaust side of the piston is mint. even with the stock needle, i couldn't go below a 340 main for it would be backfiring and missing. and again good idle, poor midrange, and a top end that would fall flat in the higher gears.
  10. Just like the title says, I'm at 500 on the main jet with stock 26mm carbs. This is what I've done to the quad: HotRods 4mil long rod crank with base spacer ProCircuit platinum pipes with 304 silencers Boyesen reeds no porting but smoothing of the exhaust port bored .040 over with Wiseco 795 pistons K&N pods with prefilters now here is where my stock mikuni carbs are currently setup to: main: 500 pilot: 35 air screw: 1.5 turns jet needle: dynojets dno304 4th clip from the top (out of 6) needle jet:O-8 valve seat size: 2.8 my elevation is 800 feet currently it is 40F, but I'd like to have it setup for 80F-90F. So far it starts great and idles fine. I have acceleration through 1-4, 5th lags and 6th just slows down. What should I do??? At what point does the valve seat and fuel petcock act like a main jet? Will going to a larger carb really cure my problems? Does changing the spark plug heat range make that much difference? I have read the "Banshee jetting FAQ" from this site many times and have a copy of it in my toolbox. My riding style is mostly trails and gravel pits. Ask any questions if I have missed any details that you's need to recommend for jetting. I'd like to hear your thoughts on this one.
  11. hey guys. i got a leak down test done and passed. 6 psi for 30 minutes. id say thats good. here are the specs to where i've stopped tuning the stock carb to: 310 mains, 35 pilots, needle on 4th clip down from the top (rich), air screw 1.0 turn out. its still a little bubbly on the mid range but at least its not backfiring anymore. but thats as much as im gonna tune it this year unless i start setting it up for ice racing again. later.
  12. the carbs are synchronized. again, elevation is around 800 feet above sea level. I had started off at 320 mains after i removed the air box and added the stoker crank, and just went up in mains from there to where i am now and the porcelain on the plugs still looks grayish.
  13. i forgot to add that i have boyseen reeds installed also. i'm surprised to see that no one has replied that has similar setup machines to say which way I would have to go to jet my quad.
  14. hello people. i am looking for some help to properly setup machine. i've got an 03 banshee with pro curcuit pipes and silencers, 4mil long rod crankshaft, .040" over 795 wiseco pistons, a spacer plate, k&n pod air filters and stock 26mm carbs. no porting has been done. elevation is around 800 feet. current carb setup is as follows: 27.5 pilot jet, air screw 1.0 turn out, stock air jet, stock needle on 3rd position(center), and 440 mains. to me the midrange feels rich but the top end still seems lean. ive looked up other posts on this site for help, but my searches come up with posts where people have gone to other carbs or have done alot of porting. any help to get in the ballpark of where this should be jetted would be greatly appreciated.
  15. 1) What type of aftermarket exhaust do you have? pro circuit 2) What type of airfilter do you have? uni 3) Are you a)running a stock airbox with lid stock airbox with NO lid c) Stock airbox with vents d) no airbox at all stock with snorkle removed 4) What is your elevation? 800feet 5) What size pilot jets are you using? 27.5 6) What size main jets are you using? 280 7) What temperature is your Banshee jetted for? 32-95F
