  1. Wehn I ran the needle in the middle clip it was boggy in the mids. I pulled out the choke to see if it improved the mids and it just completely bogged out. 4th position made it runner alot better, cleaner. For the plug it does kind of look like a smear on half of a side. I cut them with a dremel cutting wheel. Here is another pic if it helps.
  2. Would definitely agree with dajogejr. Seems like someone got mill happy on that head. You could only take off so much on a stocker. Need more like a cool head. Wouldn't risk running that.
  3. Going to pick up some 30's tomorrow, thanks a lot. Give you a lot of props dajogejr. Not only have you helped me out this time but when I do searches for other stuff that I need or questions that I have, you are there with the answer. Good looking out.
  4. Thanks guys, On the 4th position I mean from the pointy end counting up. 2nd position from rounded area. If I can turn it on cold without using the choke, does that mean it is too fat, rich. It has 32.5 and air screw from seated is 0.5 (1/2) turn out. Is the air screw in make it leaner? Any suggestions on that?
  5. Here are some plug pics. Trying to jet the Passion dune ported cylinders. 32.5 pilots, 1/2 air screw out, 330 mains, 4th clip position on needles. It has T5's, 2n1 toomey foam filter, +4 timing. Running 40:1 927 mix. Any feedback will be helpful, Thanks Here is another pic
  6. very important to check the choke tube. just fixed a shee like that today and also too small of a pilot jet.
  7. When I bought my shee used it had T5's, 2-n-1 foam filter. It was running on 32.5 pilots and 280 mains. It was running rich. Got it ported so my mains have really changed. Definately get rid of the stock filter system. If a lot of mudding then just replace the the filter and make holes or something like stated here earlier. Let her breathe, shee behaves better with air.
  8. Run a plug chop. That will answer your question.
  9. Check the choke tube. The tube that is about 3" lond and it connects in between both carbs, it connects them together.
  10. I'm in, more compression works for me.
  11. k&n pods for like $60
  12. How many ponies you puchin in that shit. Yup, Trinity set-up, looks fine to me.
  13. Same here, first thougth what the hell is that. Till I read it was a cake. Still sounds kind of nasty
  14. Where the idle screws were drilled and tapped for, the bore is at an angle. You can mille or flatten it to be perfectly at a 90. For a start to set the idle, look down in the carb with the cap off and when the tip of the idle screw is just flush then do 2 full turns on the idle screw. I got that from tip from one the the hqer here. Always adjust evenly.
  15. Don't have the cool head yet. Definately that is next. Looking to get a Noss head also. Just got the Dune port and I can say the shee pulls hard. Porting is the shiznit. If you can afford it, just get both of them. good luck
  16. Running a stock crank. Early of next year I will be getting the Noss head. Spent a little change already and have to stack my chips up again. Will be going out to Dumont on the 19th of this month. Seems to be running pretty good up here in the hi-desert, lots of wheel spin, just have to play with the jetting this weekend. Maybe after a day in the dunes I might be happy with it for now. (Yeah right!) Only had the shee for 5 months. It's like crack, I can't stop, I just want more and more speed. I know a lot of you can relate to that, after reading some of your sigs on all your mods. I'll be there pretty soon, and then experienced enough were I won't have to ask the dumb :: questions. Just want to say that Jim is pretty helpful and patient. Awesome website  . Keep up the good work guys.
  17. I've been doing searches on here in have heard people talk about 150, 155, 160 is when to start using 100 octane. Jim reccommended to run 100. Right now I have been running 100. Would definately love to run pump if I could, ours is 91 around here. Still want to keep a reliable shee.
  18. After talking to Jim, he explained that my compression was expected to be around 120. Head didn't get milled, it was a misunderstanding. Everything's cool though. Shee is running hard just playing around with my jets, kind of sputtery. Thanks to everyone except for [email protected] :yelrotflmao:
  19. Just did another reading with a spoon of oil down the plug hole and got the PSI to 120. My readings are less with the engine warmed up. All my gaskets came from Jim. All were new OEM, except for the head gasket. He sent me a used one and said that I would be fine using some Ultra Grey silicone maker. Any instructions on how to check the squish clearance with solder? Thanks guys
  20. I did hold the throttle open all the way. Kicked until gauge stopped climbing. I am getting a good seall with the tester and I used the used as long as the plugs and just got a reading at 111PSI at each cylinder, they were both dead even. PSI stays at its reading without dropping. I did not check the ring gap. Jim ported, bored, and honed the cylinders. He also milled the head. My wiseco pistons were purchased from him (0.030 over). I will be calling him tomorrow.
  21. I'm in the break in process that Jim at Passion reccommended of 2 gal of GN2, 1/2 throttle. Before firing it up the first time(at 500ft. elevation), I got 120 PSi with the actron tester. Jim milled the head, I don't know how much but he said I would be good running 100 octane, with milled head, +4 timing, & agressive dune port. I took the actron tester back to sears and got the Craftsman tester. The test done today were done at 3,000ft. elevation (home). Cold engine 110PSI Warm engine 100PSI I definitely expected higher numebrs than this. :: Cylinders are only 1 or 2 PSI off. Is there something wrong here or am I OK to keep running? I know my jettting is very rich right now. I will be running the Castor 927 at 40:1 after the break-in. Another thing I noticed is that my pipes don't feel as hot as they use to be, but I have not hit the powerband yet. I normally use the Maxima coolant but this time I just put regular prestone. I have the toomey radiator. Any help is appreciated and thanks in advance.
  22. That really sucks bro. I just started my shee yesterday with the new port job also (Passion Dune), still breaking it in. I bought my shee with a boost bottle in it, shiznit has got to go. Have to go get a crossover tube at the stealership now, and wait for them to order it.
  23. Just needs a starting point. I have T5's and the toomey 2-1 air filter. 32.5 for pilot and 280 for the main. 3/4 air screw out. I have got the Passion dune port, +4 timing and milled head. Just wondering what some suggestions would be for jetting. I will be trying the 32.5 and 340-330 as requested by Jim. Just thought I would get some other opinions. Got to get it ready for Dumont.
  24. :shoothead: Oh yeah, whining like that you're going to get someone to call you right away! And if someone calls you, what are you going to ask for next? "Can someone just come by and fix my bike for free." Come on guy, a lot of good members do enough already trying to troubleshoot shees on here.
  25. Milling a stock head only runs about $50. Just a thought.
