Make sure that the pilot jets are the same size. Sounds kind of dumb but I got a used banshee and the guy I bought it from had a 27.5 and a 32.5 and air screws turned the same from seated.

Was the filter wet? Wondering if water got in throught the filter. Or if any air leaks somewhere like intake boots or crank.

Leaking a little out the breather hoses is ok. Your filter getting dirty is normal. I clean mine after a long ride. I even have a spare so it makes it easy. And I keep the filter oiled. As far as gas I have seen this when I stand my bike up and the gas flows back to it. Gas to the filter is not normal. Try cleaning your filter often.

Where is the bike located at?

Did you buy this brand new? If you did talk to the stealership you got it from. If not, then it is a good idea to go over the whole bike. Clean filter, carbs, chain, change tanny oil. Those are just some. While the carbs apart, check what size jets it has. New plugs might help. That's a good start, let us know. A plug chop is helpful to do and not expensive. Welcome to the banshee world, and being broke because of it. Many mods that can be done. Best web site for it. You can almost find everything by searching for it. Good luck.

I would get some pipes, filters, and some port work. That will take em out.

Just go ahead and leave the stock head in and send me the Noss head. I'll PM my info to you. Are you kidding, why would you spend the dime and not use. Better cooling than the stock head. I would have installed it the same day it came in, port job or no port job.

Simple green works good for cleaning and is cheap. I've been wanting to try the chainsaw oil. Is there any type in particular for that?

I can't believe how overpriced jet kits are too. Iagree with dajogejr. Or even list some mods and someone can definitely recommend a starting point.

Warm teh bike up. Play with the air screws at 1/2 a turn at a time evenly. Try seating them all the way in but don't torque them and unscrew them 1/2 turn at a time. See where you get a better low response at. What I found on mine was that the guy that sold me the bike had 2 different size pilots in there. This is a no no. If it runs better the with air screws in then that is a rciher circuit nad air screw out is a leaner circuit. You want to be in a 1.0- 3.0 turns out, anything out of that range would need a richer or leaner pilot. Hope that helps.

Make sure the jetting is correct. I just fixed that with needle adjust and pilots.

Trust me and get the port work. If you get it done from someone that knows what they're doing, it brings the banshee to life. I did it b4 the reeds and the head and very happy. A lot of people are happy with FAST ports. Go with the porting :woot:

I had the same problem and it was the shift shaft spring. Remove clutch cover, clutches with basket and have a look. Pretty simple, even easier if you get a clymer's repair manual.

I have heard of people doing this. I do it myself instead of running old fuel in the shee.

For the guys that have the shees shipped, who do you use for shipping?

I agree with people putting up where you live, or some kind of general idea. It would just make it a lot easier. I'm not trying to remember where all the members live it.

Some builders are going to say to go with a fresh top end when you have it apart. In this case I would definitely do the porting at this time. When mine was ported I slapped a fresh top end on.
