Lightening my own fly wheel (can it be done)
nunyabinness replied to RUDEDAWG's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
i think it could be done... but i wouldn't try it. if you have a spare flywheel i'd say give it a shot. every one i have seen done they take material off of the outside. i don't think it will run if you take material off of the inside. good luck man. -
i agree with SNOPCZYNSKI. i would either run the t-5's or the PC's. i am going to be running PC's on my shee just because i like the smoother power of the PC's. the t-5's have a more noticeable mid-range hit. for trails though i would suggest the PC's.

Removing spark arrestors from stock pipes.
nunyabinness replied to jaredvh's topic in Jetting & Exhaust Forum
yeah, if you look through the FOR SALE section you can probably find a good set of pipes for CHEAP!!! and you will get a hell of a lot better sound and performance than them stock pipes. -

Kiel, thanks for the offer man. but both of my baskets have good gears. i appreciate the offer though.
-
well shit, if it looks anything like that pic it would almost be worth it just to buy it and part it out.
-
thanks again 4stroker. yeah i think i am just going to do as you suggest and file down my basket until i can afford to buy one of those billet baskets from F.A.S.T.

Stock stroke crank wanted
nunyabinness replied to 2strokespirit's topic in For Sale - Parts & Accessories
i have one that the only thing i can see thet needs to be done is have the one side pressed back together just a little bit. you would want to make sure it is trued up though. the bearings seem to be good in it. i only took it out and replaced it because the one rod had too much side to side play for my liking (and i already had a crank that i had checked out by a shop). when i took it out you could see that on the one side it was out just a hair farther than on the other. i can get pics for you if you are interested. you can have it for $50 plus actual shipping (U.S. funds). -
cool i think i will try to file the grooves out and run it for now just to get it put together and then replace it when i have the money. 4 stroker, could i just take the gear off of the broken basket (the one that was originally in there) and put it on the other basket? or is it not worth it? and thank you both for the responses.

upload it to someplace like imageshack or photobucket then copy the img tag and paste it here. -
ok, i screwed up big time. i was trying to put my motor back together and ended up snapping 2 fingers off of my clutch basket. it was pure stupidity how i did it (grrrrrrrr, at myself). anyway, i thought no big deal i have a whole clutch sitting in a box. i go pull the clutch out of the box and pull it apart to get the clutch basket and find grooves in fingers in the basket. now that brings me to my questions. 1. can you fix a basket that has grooves (these are pretty deep)? 2. what causes the basket to get grooved (so i can avoid this happening in the future)? 3. is it normal for a clutch basket and gear to have play, like you can grab the basket in one hand and the gear in the other and turn the gear about 1/4 of an inch? i thought this was a bad thing, but then i thought maybe it was normal because both clutch baskets i had did this, but now i'm not sure again because after finding the massive grooves in the other basket... i do have a clymer manual but i didn't see anything about it in there. i just want to get this thing put together and running. i bought this thing in parts and have been piecing it together over the 9 months (total time spent actually working on it... maybe 4 hours). so any help would be greatly appreciated. also if somebody has a decent clutch basket they are willing to part with for way cheap let me know.

Banshee & Blaster Bar Mounts
nunyabinness replied to ClimbAnyHill's topic in General Banshee Discussion
NO. the stock bulb is only like 35 watts. i think the stator can only handle at most 1 55 watt bulb. by the way if you are interested in upgrading the rear shock on that blaster for pretty cheap check out this link. http://pbforums.mxadrenaline.com/index.php...c=17625&hl= i am running one of these shocks on the back of my blaster and it works great. way better than the stock blaster shock. the 400ex rear shock is the same as the z400, kfx400, and the dvx400. so if you go looking on ebay don't just look for a 400ex rear shock (they usually go for more expensive than the others). -
Banshee & Blaster Bar Mounts
nunyabinness replied to ClimbAnyHill's topic in General Banshee Discussion
yeah, i've got a bar clamp for some trail tech style lights that i am trying to decide if i want to put it on my blaster to replace the big ugly headlight or if i want to put it on the banshee so that i can have headlights up on the handle bars. that's one of the things i like about the older style blaster, if you ride at night, your light shines where you are going even when turning. -
yes the blaster hubs will fit on a banshee axle. as a matter of fact my blaster has a banshee axle with blaster hubs.
