  1. I have the beadlock T9's on Holeshot HD's and have no complaints; no dents, no bends, no air loss or lost beads. I only have 15 hours on them, and I don't hit big jumps, so they are far from being pushed to the limits. But, the terrain in many areas is very rocky and filled with downed trees and stumps. Black is a good choice too.
  2. This is what I have bookmarked so far: http://www.dcnr.state.pa.us/forestry/atv/atvindex.aspx http://www.paragonap.com/ http://www.atv-riding.com/scripts/three.as...;OVMTC=standard http://www.rauschcreekracing.com/rcmp/index.php http://www.njorvp.org/ (supposedly closing in '08)
  3. You won't have to worry anymore about Chatsworth...it's closing for good in '08.
  4. If I understand correctly, tower city has a place within the park (1300 acres?) for it's members. I ASS-U-ME you have to be with the tower city group to ride there. I haven't been there yet, but I think that's what I remember reading on the RC site. My neighbor went up to RC a couple weeks ago and had a great time.
  5. An update on the Cheetah. The weather and riding area determined that I couldn't justify spending the money on an engine upgrade. It would've been a waste because I haven't been able to ride the Shee for the last 1.5 months due to the flooding swamps. I went and bought a 700 Grizzly to deal with the onslaught of rain/mud...and now the swamp has 3-4 feet of water and I'm not going to submerge the 4x4. Any1 know where I can get an air boat ::
  6. Sorry I forgot to update this thread. The dealership went up one on the main and now it runs very well. The main is a 280, but I don't know the clip position.
  7. Chase, you are a man after my own heart. I just got off the phone with Trinity and they have a deal on the 400cc and 421cc cheetahs, $2500 and $3000 respectively for an entire package. I was told the 421 will make 90HP :ermm: . It's jetted and ready to go. I would still need someone to tear my engine apart and put in the new cheetah. I'm not confident enough to take my quad apart and put it back together, I would like to be and will learn on my KXT, but right now I don't posses the knowledge. I can't see running to the computer every 10 minutes to post a new message for help, or search old posts for information. I also can't see waiting for performance. He has customers running the same 535 on pump and race gas and ride trails/woods. I'm gonna talk with them to see how happy they are. Thanks again for all of your opinions!!!
  8. Thanks again lftdT4R. The majority of his posts are harsh, and while he may have good advice his presentations sucks ass. Just because I can't ride it wide open all the time doesn't mean I can't ride it wide open. And just because I haven't been on a 4 wheeler in 25 years doesn't mean I can't ride. A three wheeler is more technical and that's what I grew up on, and that's what I was riding as of last year. I've competetively raced BMX, a dirtbike, cars and a street bike. I may want to race this too. My last bike made 181 at the rear and it was slow. My friends old turbo Hyabusa pushing 260 to the rear was nice, but not overwhelming. I got off the street after I got married because I couldn't find enough power to make me happy and I thought I kill myself trying to find it. I want some good power to play with. I already know I don't need a 535 for my application, but for the same money I would be buying less. Afer reading the Trinity forums, everything seems to be fast, so I'll ask them directly what they recomend. I could probably live with a 4mm PV, but it seems to cost around 3-4K. To help dajogejr out, would you pay 45K for a corvette (C6- not a ZO6) or 45K for a dodge viper if they were both new?
  9. Most of my riding is on trails/in woods and around here and they aren't wide enough to accomodate 50'' in many areas. I don't want it longer and don't need it shorter. I will tackle a-arms/swing arm when mine break (maybe sooner than later). I guess I'm applying car performance to 2-stroke performance and maybe that's wrong. But with cars it's not wise to make significant power mods without upgrading other engine components. In this case I would be adding 2.5 to 3 times the stock output. From what I've read I would still need modifications done to accomadate a large cub. Please inform me if I'm wrong. I'm going to call Trinity this morning and talk with someone to set me straight and get pricing. Accept for my KXT which has been in resto mode for a while (bought the Shee instead of restoring the trike), I haven't been in the off-road game in almost 25 years, so I have a lot of learning to do.
  10. I have elkas up front and waiting for the rear which should be available to the public soon, if not already. I am giving it much consideration and haven't decided yet. It's just hard to turn down an already built and ready to ride ported 535 kit including everything (carbs, exhaust, clutch, flywheel, electronics, engine swap, etc.) for 4K outta pocket. I wouldn't have contemplated it except the overall expense is not much different than a smaller PV kit. I wasn't interested in the cub setup because it does use stock parts, and I'm sure there's nothing great about them...welded or not. I've read it doesn't have the torque, which is what I really want (save the 4-stroke comments... at the very least they sound like shit). I would've ordered a 472-496cc kit, but I assume it would cost the same, or a little more than this 535, when everything is said and done (all parts, assembled, installed and tuned; not including motor swap)....again outta pocket expense. Thanks again people, and keep the opinions flowing!
  11. Thanks for the replies. It's for trail riding and general screwing around. I will check out ebay, I was only going by Trinity's site. I thought it to be relatively fair, but not a steal. I know it may be a lot of unusable power for tight trail ridding, but I will find a place to get her going. My Shee, while needing low-end jetting, is running well/pulls strongly up top. I just blasted her up and down the street to see what Shee had and it was unimpressive. There are places by me to ride which are wide open, including an old airstrip, but the weather hasn't allowed me to get to them yet. Shee will also visit other riding areas next year.
  12. I was offered a new 535cc ported Cheetah PV, 39mm PWK's, Trinity T-6 exhaust and a heavy duty clutch upgrade; installed for 4K PLUS my new motor. Is this a good deal? I haven't been able to find out the cost of a new Banshee motor, but from pricing this out on Trinity's site, it didn't seem unreasonable. Thanks for the feedback!!!
  13. After talking to a guy today, he referred me to : http://www.powermist.com/home.html
  14. THANKS NJBANSHEE!!! I did speak with Dave just now, and while he said he has a guy that is a part-timer per say, and sometimes does his port work at another shop, Dave does the assembly and tuning. He's checking into some prices for me on cheetahs and maybe a cheetah 535 motor :baseball_w00t: which is already built and ready to install! I would've never thought to go that big, and I don't need a 100+ HP motor. It'd like it in the 70-80+ HP range which sounds wicked enough. The down side is I'd have to change my exhaust setup, which'll probably keep me outta the state forests, but I can live with that. He said I could trade my exhaust in and save me a couple duckets on the new system. I really appreciate the help!
  15. I didn't speak to Dave, but the guy who answered told me that their port work was was done by another local shop. I'll call back on Monday and ask for Dave. Thanks!
  16. Even after I get my bike jetted correctly, I know it won't have the desired performance level I'm looking for. Can any1 suggest a shop in NJ, NY or PA that is reputable/knowledgable regarding Banshee performance upgrades (porting {woods}, trinity cub/cheetah, tuning, etc.)? I've gotten the bike to where I like the looks, but I'd like more bottom end to mid performance. Because I don't have a place to open her up on a continuous basis, top end isn't a high priority, although a few extra ponies are always nice to have. I've looked on the Trinity site and they offer a 400cc and 421cc motor kit; a 420cc BB kit, and stage II or MX port options :ermm: . Any suggestions on which would be best for my needs would be appreciated. Reliability is the highest priority. P.S.- already spoke with East Coast ATV and they said the work is farmedout to another shop, but I didn't get a name.
  17. My old co-worker's four year old used to write on his walls in the house with a crayon. No big deal and he used to let him (drawings everywhere at crotch level, LMAO)......until one day he came home and his son wrote on his '96 Impala SS.....WITH A ROCK! :baseball_shocked: Guess you have to show patience with young children.
  18. I'm not sure what you mean by "skipping" as I've not heard that terminology (not saying it's not valid), but if you feel the clutch slipping, it's feels like your power drops off, but the motor still sounds like it's pulling hard. Jetting sounds like a flat spot in a certain rpm range. 3 years on an abused clutch is pretty good. My VMAX would slip at the track after several runs when it was still relatively new (3K miles). I had a heavy duty clutch in my race Thunderace and it handled a lot of power/abuse without slippage. I never bought any parts online for my bikes as my friend owns a race shop, but you can try this site and maybe it'll have some better info./knowledge. http://www.r6-forum.com/
  19. I thought it looked like the baginnie of a hooker at "The Point"...wartz and all. Thanks for all the technical observations; it really helps out a newbie. I guess I need to add racing air to my tires too...or find a new hooker. :baseball_w00t:
  20. A guy with no arms walks into the bathroom to take a piss. He looks around and asks the gentleman next to him for a little help. "I have no arms and really need to go, can you help me"? The gentleman says that he isn't gay, but he can understand the guys dilemma. After a little contemplation, and some compassion for the armless guys situation, he agrees. He reaches down, unzips the guys pants and pulls out his dog. The gentleman screams, "Oh shit, what's wrong with your johnson"? It's green and lumpy with puss dripping outta the head". The armless guy says that he doesn't know, but thanks him for his help. After finishing up the armless guy asks him to zip his pants up. Reluctantly, the gentleman helps the guy out again. The gentleman said, "you should really get that looked at because it's the worst pecker I've ever seen". While pulling his arms out from inside his jacket the 'armless' guy replies, "I know but I'm not touching that thing"!
  21. Why are black guys eyes always red after sex.... Mace!
  22. I just went through the same deal with Powermadd, IMS and TAG. Ultimately Dennis Kirk was the only company to carry both a front bumper and handguards. I found the Powermadds' a little cheaper on one site, but nobody carried either IMS Intimidtor or a TAG bumper except Dennis Kirk (TAG in black). The bumper was cheaper than them all and shipping was free.
  23. Exit 63= http://www.njorvp.org/ There are trails which span Morris and Essex? counties in the swamps between rt. 287 and rt. 280 (still learning all of them, it goes for miles). There's also riding next to the NJTPK near Carteret. All "free", but are Green Acres, so keep your eyes open. You can also ride on the rail road tracks in Morris and Warren counties too (again, miles and miles), but have to watch for Conrail. I'm picking up a trailer to hit the Deleware State Forest trails over the NJ border into PA off rt. 80. You need to have your quad registered and insured though.
  24. Well, that's the major one since you typed it. The transaction has to go from FFL to FFL (Federaal Firearms License) dealer. You (unless you have a license) have to find an FFL dealer, contact him to see if he'll perform the transaction, have it shipped to him and pick it up from him and he calls in a background check which takes 5 minutes. The FFL will charge from $15 to $40 dollars for the transaction. This list from gunbroker is a good start in obtaining a dealer in your area: http://www.gunbroker.net/User/DealerNetwork.asp Good luck and be responsible. P.S.- some states do not allow these type of transactions without certain permits, so check before you bid/order.
  25. No, not yet. I just had surgery on my lower back about 2 weeks ago and I can't do anything yet. I plan on taking her back to my friend (dealership manager) late next week after returning from Atlantic City. I want to watch them tear the carbs down so I can see how it's done. He also wants me to test the jetting on their track after the changes, so he doesn't have to keep hearing me bitch! Thanks for asking, and I'll post the results/fix when it's working well.
