save up for port work by a reputable builder. i never imagined it would give my bike that much more power. then after that get some new carbs.
-
there was one on there about 3 months ago that i bid on. it claimed 145 hp on a 7 mill stroker. i bid 3500 on it and i was outbid. would love it if i didnt just buy a new truck. ::

so when the nitrous is hit its mixing race gas through the pump instead of alky? never thought of that before.can you just run nitrous with the staright alky though? thats what id really like to do. -
if you dont use that trubo im avidly looking for one right now. let me know if you get it and dont use it.

hey guys i need to tether kill in order to start drag racing at the track. ive heard that the grounding teher kills can mess up a dyna fs cdi. is this true? and if so what can i do for a tether kill?

my buddy has one and i raced him up olds and whooped him every time. my bike was really mild then too. there was even a time when i missed 2nd AND 3rd through the woops and he gained about 7 lengths on me but when i got into 4th after the woops i still passed him before the top. :yelrotflmao:

-
are you runnin 1/4 mile. if so what do you have done. im currently setting my bike up for 1/4 mile asphalt and i need to know what people are running.
-
if nothing else i would go with wiseco pistons and welded crank and a higher comp head. alcohol really likes the high comp.

Does it matter which piston goes where?
nitroburner13 replied to Rebel3190's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
definetely agree that matching is the way to go. i had a top end done my jerry hall about a year ago and i ride every week. compression is still at 170 pounds and there is not a single scratch in either cylinder. -
with the dyna at stock it wont automatically advance but you still have the added spark energy. but if you run it at stock its basically a waste of money and features. if i were you i would go with the vforce for now.

i believe 87-94 are the same and then the rest from 95-06 are the different ones. if you want a new one i would suggest either just redoing yours or buying oem from a dealer. i bought a new one about a year ago for my 89 and it cost about 100 bucks.

i am a mechanic for a rental shop here in az where we run about 20 skis. they are all 94-98 waveraiders and waveventures. first of all congrats on that deal cuz you can do that top end in about 3 hours and 300 bucks with wiseco. as far as the porting there are definitely more people than you think that can do it. i just built a full race ported 1100 and its puttin out right around 210 horsepower now. other than the porting there are a lot of things out there to wake that ski up. there are three catalogs you need to get. wsm, lynn vick, and western power sports. the best exhaust out there is a company called factory and they have huge hp gains on the 760. somthing like 40 hp.really expensive though. it was like 2200 cost for my 1100. there is also a really good company called coffman that makes very good exhaust. they are a lot cheaper and you still get between 30 - 35 hp. and last for exhaust. riva makes a decent aftermarket for it as well. what i would suggest is an R&D modified cylinder head. that will really wake it up comin out of the hole.but youll have to run race gas. and last but most importantly. get rid of that damn oil injection and go premix. i cant even tell you how many engines we have go down because of faulty oil pumps. get rid of it cuz chances are thats why you have a week cylinder now.

put the keihns on my bike and i dont know how to turn up the idle on carbs without adjusting the cable adjusters on the caps. can anyone tell me where to adjust em?
-
ive had those same shocks on lonestar +2+1 arms for the last year. i have been jumping a 40 foot double at the local track for about 3 months and they hold up to that no problem. even with all the crashes while i was learning i never broke or bent em. they arent the best obviously but they will do for the money i paid for them.
-
actually i put them on and now i dont have to have my carb welded to clear the clutch arm.

i got the jets from d&m and they are 650 mains. i do have a powerjet and its all the way fat right now. i checked the plugs after about 5 minutes of just running it last night and they seem like they are a little too white still, i dont know if its too early to tell or if its running lean. and by purging do you mean running the fuel out of the carbs or is there more to it?
-
got the alcohol set up on my bike. powerjets are all the way fat. i ran it for about 3-5 minutes and then i shut it off. checked the plugs and they are still pretty white no color to them really. is it too early to read the plugs or is it just really lean?
-
thanks a lot man thats a big help
-
should get that thing to the dunes
-
well i just got my bike suckin down methanol and it fired right up. im running br8es plugs. i was wondering if you have to read the plugs different with methanol than you have to with race fuel. im gonna take it out for some tuning tomorrow and the last thing i wanna do is run it lean so i need to make sure im readin the plugs right
-
sorry i know this sounds really stupid but i just got some spacers so the carbs will clear the cltch arm. do they go between the cylinders and reeds of between the reeds and manifolds? ::
