  1. Regardless, I deleted some of my earlier posts, no hard feelings. I just take insult when I am accused by someone who knows nothing about me that I can't tune a bike, and I don't know what I'm talking about. Search around if you want to know what other members think about the 2 into 1s, I think you will find what I said to be the general consensus.
  2. Sorry dude, but that comes across as an attack to me, because I have first hand knowledge in working on a bike with a 2 into 1 setup, and riding one, I just won't buy or ride one. Also, you accused me of not being able to tune the bike. The plug chop looks damn skippy, and it runs on spot, I just don't like the 2 into 1, and you basically accuse me of not ebing experienced, being a novice, blah blah blah, because I don't agree with you. That's a personal attack. I don't like the 2 into 1s, and I don;t think it makes the bike run any faster(just read the above posts, others think the exact same thing). I did not accuse you of being in it just for the money, I said it is best to take advice from someone who sells a certain product with a grain of salt. I could not imagine very many salesmen talking bad about a product they are trying to sell(although I'm not saying this doesn't ever happen).
  3. Ahhh, at least we agree on something.
  4. I can see this is going to become a pissing match real quick. How many banshees at 2 stroke wars run them? How many hill climb champions run them? I can run a drag car at Indy, but it doesn't mean it's the best or will even win. I don't think they make the bike any faster from what I've seen, maybe I'm wrong, they just seem to change the power curve and feel a little bit. From what I've been told, and what I've read/seen, and even ridden, this is what I, and many other people, believe.
  5. The year just started, I'm sure we'll have plenty more.
  6. Like OMG Daj, like how could you say that. Didn't you read what "the professional" said about 2 into 1 setups. He does sell them, so he should know. :yelrotflmao: :yelrotflmao:
  7. Boo hoo hoo. How bout we take you down to McDonalds and get you a whamburger and some french cries. How bout a Weineken? :yelrotflmao: Come on dude, you should know that even if you are right, people are going to take what you say with a grain of salt just because you ARE trying to sell something, regardless of whether you are right or wrong, which I don't believe you are. I am giving my .02 because I have used one, I rode and worked on a buddy's bike with one, and I have talked to many people that have them. I ersonally will not buy one, even if you try your best to make me feel insecure about it, because I rode a properley tuned bike with one on it, and didn;t like it for my style of riding. (Like I'm going to beleive some schmuck half way across the country that tells me that my buddy's bike isnt tuned right even though he's never seen it, you make some wild claims there homie.) You can cry and type in caps all you want, I wouldn't buy shit from you if your just gonna bitch and bitch and not make any valid points or talk to me like your older then 13. Good luck there partner. A real salesman or professional would have tried to engauge me in a somewhat intellectual conversation and maybe try to disprove certain points of my argument, or tried to ask me what I felt was bad about them, maybe even get the jetting specs to make sure it was setup right, but no, you try to personally attack me instead. Your a real winner!
  8. Any chance those guys work with the stock air box boots? The price is right on them, if I don't like them, I'm sure I could ditch them at half price, and still not be that bad off. Cool info!
  9. If I got one for free, or in the $100 range, I would probably pick one up. They do make the jetting easier, and I did like the way the powerband hit. For $300 it doesnt kill me to tune 2 carbs, or be a little more careful with the powerband(I actually like the pwoerband the way it is, but I could see it if people don't). I hate talking bad about stuff when people allready have it, I try to just not post my opinions if someone allready bought something. I know my post was off-topic too, I didn't realize that he allready had it. SO, sorry about that dude, it' not a waste, just not somehting I would have bought, which doesnt really matter anyway. ANyway, why not just put some smaller mains and pilots in it? WOuldnt that solve the initial problem mentioned? I know it is a big carb, but I don't think it would matter a hell of a lot if you went down say 2 or so main sizes. Dunno though, just throwing a possible solution out there. I won't ride without my airbox lid, and I wouldnt drill holes in mine for the trails I do.
  10. Yeah, you don't want one. But if you do, I'll sell you one of mine, I have a few layin' around for 10 shipped!
  11. Lookin' good dude. I like it a lot, nice clean setup. I might PC that frame, lookin' a little messy, but other then that, not bad at all!
  12. Couldn't you just go with a smaller main and pilot anyway. You could kinda "detune" the carb a little bit, and run an airbox with lid, if you ran a lid now it would be rich. I'm not too familiar with the size of the mains and pilots in the Keihens(which is what I think they are), but I don't see why that wouldn't work, unless someone wants to explain it to me.
  13. Hmmmm, theyre are quite a few people on here that use banshees for trails, myself included, I don't know if I'd aagree with that. :shoothead: I doubt it. The bike is tuned on spot, I have heard from many many people that the 2 into 1s arent worth it, there are a few reviews on here too. I'm not gonna argue with you, the bike does come onto the powerband easier, but faster, nah I don't think so, I've ridden 2, and I definately don't think so. I think your just trying to justify shelling out the 4 bills for it. Just my opinion though. By the way, I would expect you to talk up the 2 into 1s a lot because you sell them! I don't think you'd say anything bad about a product you sell. Not the most reliable source in my opinion, it's like asking a Honda car dealer if there are other brands out there that are better. Of course he's gonna say Hondas are the best.
  14. Seems about right. I needed crank seals on my bike, and just for shits and giggles I called up a local Yamaha dealer to see how much it would run. I didn't really feel like splitting the cases, and blah blah blah. Got quoted $850 for crank seals. I just laughed, $80 and 6 hours later I had it done myself. Dealers charge an insane amount of money. Whenever I get some loot, I'm bout to open a Yamaha dealer ship, I wouldnt even have to sell any bikes, just jet a couple carbs, split a couple cases, and I'd allready break even for the year. :yelrotflmao: For real though bro, I started out working on bikes when I was 15 or so, I didn't even know how to use a ratchet when I started, I taught myself everything, it is a alittle frustrating at first, but it will come to you as long as you stick with it. HQ and Clymer help out a ton! It is very rewarding for me anyway to be able to fix my own stuff, saving the money is just an added bonus! Good luck!
  15. I havent run one, but a very good buddy has one. Same mods, FMFs, everything pretty much. The bikes have the same power it's just a little easier to manage with the 2 into 1. The bike really isnt any faster, the powerband just comes on a little earlier and softer, also it's way easier to tune. I don't know how much they are, somewhere around 4 bills or so, not worth it if you ask me, if the bike was actually faster or something it might be. But hey, just my .02, different strokes for different folks.
  16. Cool man, lemme know, I'm very interested.
  17. :yelrotflmao: :yelrotflmao: True, true, I didn't think it was yours, but it didnt say otherwise. His reserve is probably set high I bet, I wouldnt pay more then 14-1300 for it.
  18. Got pics of the shocks? I'm really looking for a rear, what kind of shape is it in, also, I'm guessing it was valved for that extended swingarm.
  19. Ohhhhh, ok, I know you were building a trail bike, and I was gonna say, I hope you have some strong arms to hold on to a bike like that in the trails! :yelrotflmao:
  20. Yup! By a Clymer Service Manual for $30, it will tell you everything you could ever want to know about your bike. It has step by step instructions to fixing anything and everything on the bike. Just don't loose the bolts and washers you take out, and you'll be all set! Or else, if your in NJ, you could bring it to me :yelrotflmao: . Good luck bro!
  21. :yelrotflmao: I missed that one. I wonder what the reserve is?
  22. Is that yours? What's up with the "The quad starts quick sounds great and is very fast it has been clocked over a hundred with premium gas and r-50 or Benol racing oil". I don't know about 100..... but it will sure make a nice bike for someone. Good luck dude!
  23. Damn! Nice setup, but I hope your not planning on trail riding that!
  24. Nope, I would not pay, I don't drag or dune, so I really don't have anything to read on there.
