  1. Ahhh, sooo nostalgic though, I remember when Turf Tamers were the only sport ATV tires you could get that didn't look like ballons. I have been tempted to put some tamers on my shee just too feel a bit younger. :yelrotflmao: :yelrotflmao: I'll stop with my war stories now. How do you like those 28 Keihens by the way? Are you running stock porting or do you have porting? I've been wanting to pick up a set for my mostly stock shee, but I wasn't sure. Nice bike by the way, that thing looks more like an 07 then an 87.
  2. I know it's not a -1, but I still got that stocker if you want, just pay the shipping and it's yours.
  3. You got a link for that? I've heard of them before, but I was never really sure how it worked. I'm guessing that one throttle is "locked", so it can't be moved, while the other is in use. I wouldn't mind giving one a shot.
  4. Yeah, never though of that, I have to admit, I didn't see his ad. I just knew it had to be something aside from all of us being broke asses though, just wasn't sure what.
  5. I agree 100%, I love my turbo twist(1/4 turn to full), but on my other bike that I'm building I'm going to go with a Cascade thumb lever, I don't ride often, so when I do, arm pump is awlays a problem. The twist definately takes some getting used to though. I would also look into the casacde thumb throttle too.
  6. Yeah, I guess that's true, when I buy stuff I never want to have to rig or modify it to work the way it should, for a few bucks more you can get some Razrs or holeshots, or even better, Kenda Knarlys are the same price, some people actually like the Knarlys better then Razrs or holeshots. I would just go that route instead of buying Tamers and cutting them.
  7. Maybe nobody liked your bike? Ever think of that? You got a lot of nerve disrespectin the HQ. Also, did you try selling you bike on PlanetSand?(if not your a dumbass) Did anyone buy it there?(I'm guessing not) WHy don't you go over there and call of of PlanetSand broke asses too? Sorry to muddy up your thread dude, good luck on the sale.
  8. Wow, I havent had turf tamers in a long time. The last set I had was on my Warrior, and I had them until I wore them out, then I bought Razrs. The Razrs worked way way better for trails. The problem with the turf tamers was that the lugs were so close together and there were soo many of them that they tires never got any "bite". They were very easy to spin, even on a Warrior. They might still have a use, but for trails, I think there are by far better tires, Holeshots, Knarlys, Rarzs, to name a few.
  9. :ermm: I'm not sure what that proves? You found his name and address, which has allready been posted, on a white pages site. The guy could be dead, they don't update sites like that that often. Or am I missing something here? And yeah, this thread is old a fuck, definately from before me.
  10. Boonman does hellafine work, he did mine about a year or so ago, and I've had no problems. As for trails, it could go either way I beleive. The engine revs faster with a lighter fly wheel, it also slows down quicker too though(less rortating momentum), which can work against you in trails, sometimes you want to keep the revs up, especially if your switching gears on a hill. I had my 02 lightened, and my 01 is stock, I think it's more fun to ride the lightened wheel out in the open, but if you get into some tight, technical sections, I couldn't keep the revs up as much as I wanted, the bike would slow down quicker. I ride some tighter stuff, and I'll probably port my bike, so I'm not going to do it on my build.
  11. What kind of airbox setup are you running? I'm guessing a full setup without snorkel? Your probably one size too big on the mains, you shouldn;t have oil on the stinger tips. Maybe some on the ends of the silencers though. Also, what size pilots are you running?
  12. Damn, never knew that about the balljoints, but the only cars I've ever worked on are toyotas. I've never seen a-arms like that either, but I know LSR has been in business for a long time. Yeah, if you have spindles that aren't reemed, definately use them, and just buy some Yamaha balljoints, much much easier. Just check the diameter on the bolt coming out of the balljoint. It's either gonna be 14mm or 16mm, then either order the Ricky Stator ones(16mm) or the Lone Star ones(14mm). Good luck bro!
  13. Damn, that's some education, it took me sooo long to finish up my 1 degree. Yeah, the CNC machine was made by sharp, I remember because it always said Sharp Tools cut the best or some shit whenever it started up. I work in construction so in order to sign off on projects, and stuff like that you need to be a PE, it's not really essential, but it would be nice, plus the company I work for foots like 70% of the bill. I wish I went for something interesting like Vehicle Design or ME, but there isn't a lot of work going on around here unless your Civil. I get offers left and right for new jobs(granted they aren't very good). My buddy's an ME, and about the only thing he could find was a machine shop, or else people wanted him to move out west. There's a lot of engineers on this board, I think BigRed is too, and I know Ive talked to a few others. I guess a little engineering knowledge helps on this kind of stuff.
  14. Good article, here's the best part: "Twenty-nine members of current and recent Congresses have been accused of spousal abuse in either criminal or civil proceedings. Twenty-seven have driving while intoxicated arrests on their driving records. Twenty-one are current defendants in various lawsuits, ranging from bad debts, disputes with business partners or other civil matters. Nineteen members of current and recent Congresses have been accused of writing bad checks, even after the scandal several years ago, which resulted in closure of the informal House bank that routinely allowed members to overdraw their accounts without penalty. Fourteen have drug-related arrests in their background, eight were arrested for shoplifting, seven for fraud, four for theft, three for assault and one for criminal trespass." Ahh, the biggest assholes in the world are allowed to make decisions for the honest hard working citizens. What else is new?
  15. They could be really really old Lonestars. Just a guess. Basically there are only 2 Yamaha style ball joints, one has a 14mm diameter bolt, and one has a 16mm diameter bolt, measure 'em up, and see which ones will work for ya. The 14mms are about $35 a piece, the 16mm ones areactually cheaper, RickyStator had a good buy on them as I remember. I've never seen ones with that grease fitting tapped into them, that's kinda weird, that might have been a backyard invention, you don't need it either, the BJs are sealed so no grease is getting out. EDIT: If the spindles have to be reamed, then they are not Yamaha style ball joints, so forget what I just said. If you didn't ream the spindles allready, buy the Yamaha style ones. If you reamed them, then they are probably Honda style BJs, but they could be something else.
  16. Made my shit in Microsoft Word. :yelrotflmao: My guess is Photoshop or Illustrator, but I'm not good at that kind of stuff, and I don't have any friends that are either.
  17. Cool, I have no experience with CNC stuff, I used a Sharp machine once in a lab in school, but never after that. I'm guessing your an ME right? I got my CE degree in '03, but I'm taking a few courses again this semester I'm thinking about taking the PE exam, so I took a prep course, and some fluids courses, I was thinking about doing a major in enviormental, it might be kinda useful.
  18. Yeah, I think the coupon is good for anything in their regular catalog too. I might order the GForce extended hubs and some other stuff. I'm sure I can find something. :yelrotflmao:
  19. Well, it's a talent I guess, and somewhat useful, but it's not something I think teachers should be spending a whole lot of time, never mind testing kids on. I could think of better things to teach students then stuff like that. I can get to 169, which is 13, but past that, and I'm definately using a calculator.
  20. Think he said it all. A lot of bikes are never titled in the first place. You don't have to pay sales tax a lot of times if you don't title it. In NJ anyway, there is no law that says you have to title an ATV, if you buy a new bike for 6k or so, it says you $420 worth of sales tax if you just never title it. As long as the VIN comes clear on a police check, and there's no leans your A-OK!
  21. Anybody else get the spring RMATV catalog? It has a coupon in the front for $10 off a purchase of $100 or more. Just enter GC2215 at the checkout, or mention the coupon when you call. You also get free shipping on orders over $100 too. I just ordered a bunch of shit, and didn't know, but anyway thought it would be good for the rest of BHQ to know.
  22. Uhh, problems like the one above, are very tedious, and I don't see how being able to do them in your head have any practical application. I would be extremely pissed if a teacher was ever stupid enough to give me a problem like that. Wasburn's right, in the field, if my boss saw me trying to take a square root like that in my head he'd probably fire me. Also, Calc 2 for me was no where as near as hard or tedious as trying to figure out 10 digit square roots. If you see the practicality in the problems it really isn't that hard and is somewhat useful. Calc 3 gets a little harder, but still not too bad.
  23. Awesome seller, good deal on parts, and shipped quick! Don't hesitate to deal with him, standup guy!
  24. Yeah, I been eyein' up a set for a while now, they seem like the best ones out there. Anybody know who has the best price on them? 49.99 seems to be the best I can find.
  25. :yelrotflmao: :yelrotflmao: Yeah, didn't we just have a thread about this not too long ago. Ohh, by the way, did anyone see the new 900cc Rotax Blaster, comes with NOS from the factory?
