  1. .020" If you use a matchbook cover you should be fine, I have before. You don't want to move the coil and flywheel so close thgether that it is hard to pull the cover out though, just so it is snug. Good luck bro!
  2. You got a pic of those FMF pipes and silencers? I got dibs on them.
  3. Wow, great way to start on a new board. Just because someone doesnt have 5-7gs to spend and wants to build a nice 2 stroke does not mean they are a moron. I'm not following the logic there. 5-7gs IMO is too high anyway. Now that it is sold, I don't mind saying that.
  4. Hey, if you don't sell those RAD valves let me know, I'll take them, also, how much were you looking to get on that rear skid. I need something cheap for my 02, my stocker has been bent to shit, but I don't want to put anything too nice or expensive on it. Thanks!
  5. Ok, I'm still having the same trouble, and I have had the carbs apart a few times now. I guess I should be a little more complete with my story. The bike ran fine, and had the same amount of smoke out of both sides when I got it. It had a 2 into 1 open filter, and reed spacers, with no airbox. And I do mostly trails and decided to put back on the stock air box. I had everything apart, took off the reed spacers, and put in new reed gaskets, and put the original boots back on. When I went to take the cap off the right side carb, I did not notice the little allen screw was still in, and it stripped the threads for the cap. I replaced the carb with another spare that I had. I put the exact same size 260 jets in, with 25 pilots, air screws 1.25 turns out, and the floats are at 20 mm. Both carbs are stock, and as clean as can be, originally I did have 260 jets from different sets in, but now they are from the same set. After all this work is when I started to have trouble. I still can't figure it out for the life of me. I thought it might be a crank seal, but the tranny oil does not change even after 4 hours of riding. Compression test also pulls 125 PSI on both cylinders. The pics are above, but basically when it idles the right side smoke more but not a heck of a lot. When I get on the throttle, still more on the right side. When I let off, the smoke just billows out. If I hold my hand up to the pipe while accelerating, I will have specs of oil all over my hand afetr a few second. I am still completely lost, and at my wit's end with this. I really don't have the loot to bring this to the stealer, and I always work on my own shit, this is the first major thing I have run into that I am completely dumbfounded by. My only 2 things left that I could think of would be - Fuel Valve? Maybe the fuel valve in the carb is bad, and it just lets gas in even when the floats are up? -Crank Seal? If I can't figure out anything else, I'll tear the cases apart, and check it just for heck of it. Other then that, nothing. Any help would be greatly appreciated, because I am not really sure to go from here. Thanks again, the pics of the exhaustare still above, and it has all the mods listed in my sig under the 2002.(it has a bent stem, and bent a-arms, but this problem was before my crash, and it hasnt changed since)
  6. What kinda front shocks you got? I'd also be ineterested in the rear hubs. I dealt with Wallace before, really cool guy by the way!
  7. Got a pic of the shock covers? Are they the ones that say Yamaha, or the Shock Wears ones?
  8. Damn, never thought about it being harder to find a shee cheap on the east coast. When I get my '01 back together maybe I'll take my other banshee out there, and get double what I paid for it. Would be nice. It seems most people here are looking for woods bikes and such, not too many wide open areas here, so I guess the banshees are a little lower in price. Good luck though, you never know,
  9. Hey, what's up? As far as the pipes, I coundt find anyone around here that would touch them unless they were brand new, somethign about contamination or something, I wound up sending mine out for a high temp powdercoat. Also, I plan to do my frame very son, but I have not had anything powdercoated locally. A buddy told me about http://www.autobodycontours.com/ they are located in Belford. I have not ahd any work done there, and no one I know has had work done there, I just know about it, hey, it's a lead at least. Good luck bro!
  10. Most definately. I paid 1150 for a 2002 in decent shape that ran strong. I kind of got lucky on it, I wasn't really looking to pick anything up, but for the price, I couldn't resist. If your willing to wait on one, and yu don;t need anything quick you obviously have a better chance. Here's a pic by the way, it's also the 02 in my sig that I fucked up a few weeks back.
  11. Hahahaha, I like that one. I'd like to try something other then a Ford for once, and I don;t have any real brand loyalty when it comes to cars, but unfortunately my dad, also my boss, is exteremly loyal to Ford, so that's all we get. The Dakota is porbably gets the worst gas milegae out of any car out there. I had a Dakota for a month when one of our trucks got wrecked, and the thing was fawkin' terrible on gas. Even the V8 gas 250s and 350s we have aren't that bad. The thing would just drink gas, I thought there was a hole in the tank.
  12. Awesome man, if you could post some pics, that would be great. I have a set of FMF Gnarlies with fresh powedercoat, and brand new trubine core silencers to trade, or else I also have cash. If you want pics of my crap too, let me know, the FMFs have one small dent near the stinger. Thnaks man!
  13. :yelrotflmao: :yelrotflmao: That would be funny as hell. Bump for ya, Dan is a cool guy to deal with, bought some carbs off of him!
  14. Couldnt seem to find the retro graphics on their site, got a direct link? Sounds pretty hot, I'm looking for something to compliment on 01 when I get it done.
  15. Here is the thread with the pics and info of the synch tool. I didn't get a chnace to use mine yet, but I have heard nothing but good things, and Jeff @ FAST is a cool guy to deal with.
  16. Cool deal, I have seen a good amount of people do a whole bunch of wods mods, and then decide to build a top end bike instead. I don;t have anywhere to open my shee up legally, and no dunes in NJ, so I don;t mind building a woods bike. Ever ran a single carb setup? If so, what did you think of it, I'm still trying to get opinions before I dump the loot on one, and seeing how this thread is about woods mods, I'm sure the starter won't mind me asking. Happy riding,
  17. Hey bro, don't know why I didn't think of this earlier, but I need a steering stem, an axle, and an upper right a-arm( I think) If you could, can you shoot me a price, if you have them, and I would probably take a ride up,or meet you guys in J.C. or manchester. Thanks man!
  18. I wouldnt really say that. All of you other advice seems to be sound at least. I would think it's more of a preference then one really being better or worse. Banshees definately hold their own on trails. I've spanked 4 storkes, and been spanked by them, but I've definately held my own in most of the shit I've come across. It's kind of narow minded to think of the banshee only as atop end drag bike, I always loved riding 2 strokes in trails, just something about it that egts me, 4 strokes were always kind of boring to me.
  19. Did ford really ever build quality trucks? :yelrotflmao: I'm waitin' for the Toyota 3/4 or 1 ton before I ditch the POS 250 I got though.
  20. I'd rather be stroked then rammed (always owned Ford trucks here). But sounds like a good deal. Now that Daimler is behind dodge, they seem to have a lot less problems then the older ones. Evreyone I know that has a new ram likes it a lot. I'm not crazy about the big grill look all of these new trucks have, and I wouldn't buy a 2wd, but if you live somewhere like Florida, you probably wouldn't use it. Sounds like a good deal to me.
  21. If you got a set and want to get rid of them, hit me up, I don't care what finish or how they look as long as there are no dents. I also need the matching fat boy silncers. I would have 'em powdercoated. I have cash in hand, or I have FMF SSTs in om shape, or FMF Gnarlies with a fresh powdercoat to trade(plus some cash of course). Thanks!
  22. Awesome, I knew there wasn't too much to it, I'm gonna go out and hit them right now. Thanks man! Your like the magic 8 ball of BHQ, you always have the answers.
  23. Sorry to dig up an older thread, but I just got the synch tool from Jeff @ F.A.S.T., and I was wondering where the thread went here that showed you how to use it properly. ANyone got a link?
  24. Got the pegs, thanks man!!! Josh is a great guy to deal with, ships fast as a mo fo!
  25. Uh ohh, better move this thread to the roostin' room :woot:
