  1. I have the DMC 916 exhaust and the midrange hits harder then Mike Tyson. I never had the chance to try out the PT pipes. They definately are a strange looking pipe. They're also $100 more then mine so I hope they're good. Also the DMC are stainless. My pipes are 3 years old and are not rusting.
  2. You should be able to beat those fools with your setup. Score a pair of Razr II's. They have massive grip in all terrain, hands down. Also your stock carbs are fine for your mods. As far as tuning them, I can't help you there. Tom Asay (R.I.P.) of A.C. Performance was THE MAN for tuning Banshees in the South Jersey area. Sucks. Get that Shee fixed up, drop the bomb in second, and flat shift that pig for the win. Good luck.
  3. I have the DMC 916 exhaust with the one silencer. Hardest hitting midrange pipe I have ever felt on a Banshee. The exhaust sounds like a street bike. Very unique. I have rode bikes with Toomey's and Pro-Circuits and they feel dull to me. Good top end I guess but then again they didn't have enough mods to really be effective. And besides overrevving's just gonna slow you down.
  4. Had my fun with the 400's and 450r's today too. Raced them on my girls bone stock Blaster. Of corse they beat me by about 4. Then I hopped on my Shee and beat them by 4-6. By the way, if you tighten the knob on the bottom of the shock, you will lessen the rebound. It took my bike about 3 days of riding to fully break in. Each day it seemed to get faster. Swap those tires and have your revenge. Good luck.
  5. I ride 15/41 on 20" tires and with the mods it works great for everything (trails, hills, etc.) but sand. Sand drag it's fine but have to keep it in band to mess around. Would prefer stock for sand but then there goes first. I'd say keep it stock and slap on some more parts to make more power. I use 6th for keeping my criminal record clean.
  6. I bought a pair of Raz'r II's about 4 months ago (20-11-9) and can't believe how good they grip! I live in New Jersey and have ridden everywhere from the woods and sand quarries of the Pine Barrons to the dredge pits and shores of the Delaware River. Not only is the straight line acceleration killer, but even the cornering is first class. My bike handles like it's on rails but shift your weight and give it some throttle and you can powerslide with precision. Just let your friends know not to ride too close behind cause the roost these tires give off is intense. Or don't and catch 'em by surprise!
  7. I run the airbox with the lid off. The box keeps most of the mud and water off the filter and the open top lets alot more air in. Kinda the best of both worlds. Oh yeah, I removed the drain plug on the bottom of the box so if any water gets in, it drains right out. Went riding at a dredge today. It was extremely muddy and got soaked a couple times misjudging puddles. Didn't have any problems. Good luck.
  8. Tires, gear ratio, launch technique, and terrain are all important factors to drag racing. You should be able to take that 450 with your mods. Granted, I have alot more done, but I have done well with less. When all I had was Pipes, silencer, reeds, and ITP rear tires (20-11-9), dropping the bomb in second gear would have me running away from most of the competition on loose dirt or quarry sand. Now with the setup I have now, the 15/41 gearing and the killer grip of the Raz'r II's, bombing first and hitting second not even 2 seconds later seems to get the job done. Good luck.
  9. I have the alba action carbon fiber tank cover and it looks sick. I had mine for almost 3 years and it still looks brand new. Excellent craftsmanship. Sorry don't have picks but it's worth the price. It fits perfectly. Also they just came out with a TRUE carbon fiber radiator cover with your choice grille for like $220. They have pics on the website and it would look sweet on those 03 limited's. http://store.albaaction.com/shop/TANK-SHROUDS.html --- Tank cover http://store.albaaction.com/shop/BAN-GRILL-BK.html --- Rad. cover
  10. I had a combination of both problems. I had a bolt snap off on the left footpeg front bolt. Had to drill and retap the hole with a bigger bolt. Then I also had that damn nut break loose in the frame on the same side. What I did was drill both sides out and slide in a piece of all-thread. Works great. I also butter up all my hardware with anti seize now.
  11. NOW YOU'RE PLAYING WITH POWER!!!
  12. 40:1 Silkolene Comp 2
  13. What about the forged super stock pistons (6hp mid 8hp top)? Anyone ever try them?
  14. I've had them sinse 03. Killer mid range, great top end. They sound a little like a street bike with the 2 into 1 silencer. Ask my friends, they've seen and herd them plenty of times while losing.
  15. I've had DMC's on my bike sinse 03 and I love em. They kinda sound like a street bike with the 2 into 1 silencer. Killer mid range, great top end. Other pipes feel flat on powerband compared to these pipes Ask my friends, they've seen and herd the pipe plenty of times while losing.
