  1. Hey Liftd T4R, I see you're in Jersey, let me know when you get those PT's on. We'll meet up sometime. I would like to check those pipes out. I hear alot of good things but never seen them on a shee before. Everyone else, sorry i'm off topic. Later.
  2. I wouldn't recommend a Toomey pipe if you want a quieter pipe. (no offence Toomey owners) I have the DMC 916 pipe and my friends own Pro- Circuit, and FMF. The Toomey is by far louder then all. I havent herd the hush kit for them (Toomey) but it's supposed to help.
  3. I've used Primary Drive and D.I.D. Neither have failed on me so I guess they're good enough. I purchased the PD at Rocky Mountain. I'd recommend getting a chain with a 7,800lb tensile strength or better as to prevent too much stretch. With an o-ring chain, I don't like them. They work well at first, keeping the grease in the chain, but if you ride in muddy areas, the mud that gets past the o-ring ends up getting trapped and seizes the chain. You should replace both sprockets with the chain because the chain "wears into" the sprockets. If you use the old worn sprockets, you will wear out the chain faster. Good luck.
  4. I had probs editing my post so here: Oh yeah, the consideration part. I've had neighbors ask me "not today, my kid's sick" or "not this late, (10:00pm) I got work tomm." and I totally respect that. I've done everything from parties to tuning a 11 sec. car in my garage and half the time my neighbors ask me how I made out. I've been asked to stop one day, and then shared beers with them on their porch a week later. There's times when I don't like what someone else is doing on my block. If i'm cool about it, we usually reach an agreement. If I went over there and bitched, they'll probably tell me to fornicate with myself, but not that nicely. Good luck. Later
  5. When you live in tight suburbs like I do, theres a certain level of toleration and consideration that needs to be given to all your neighbors. The houses in my town are only separated by the width of the driveway. I've done the occasional blast up and down my street on my shee. The neighbors tolerate it cause there will be one day when they have a backyard BBQ, or a car stereo tune on the street, or even a front yard screaming contest and the last thing you want is some dick sticking their nose in your business. As long as it isn't CONSTANT, everybody gets along. I totally understand your anger. If you did it once or twice, That's tolerable. Do that once every other week, fine with me. If someone bitches about that, fu@k em. Wait for them to slip up then get them back. Illegal or not, you only live once. Have fun. Shoot, EVERYWHERE I ride is illegal (Jersey). As long you don't get caught, you didn't do it, and noone cares. Don't take shit from others. Later.
  6. Raz'r II takes the holeshot every time !!!
  7. Yo I found a good website for regulations for the dunes: http://www.michigan.gov/dnr/0,1607,7-153-1...34760--,00.html Now that I read that, I have some more questions: How much is it to get into the dunes? How much is the Michigan State Park Motor Vehicle Permit? Do I need that for my Banshee AND my truck? Even if the truck stays in the lot? How much is a Michigan ORV Registration? Thanks for the info.
  8. Sorry to hijack banshee man but I was thinking of doing the same thing. How about hills, are they a challenge, and about how tall are they? Around here, I ride sand quarries and have done alot of hills in Lacey Twp. that are about 50-75ft. with about a 45-60 degree incline. I see pictures of Glamis and am dying to ride dunes but michigan is the closest thing to NJ. Is it worth the travel and fees? Thanks.
  9. I'm pretty sure stock comp. with stock bike at sea level is 130psi. Under 100psi and it's rebuild time. My buddy was as low as 75psi WITH 21cc domes! (Jersey sea level)
  10. As long as what they're offering is definately the 916 exhaust and not the Alien as pictured, you're getting a sweet deal. I paid over 5 bills for my 916 exhaust. Wish I found this site! Good luck.
  11. DMC 916. Hardest hitting pipe i've used. Toomey's, FMF's, and Pro-Circuits all felt the same to me. They're dead down below, then have a gradual power curve from mid to top. Nothing exciting, just predictable. The DMC's seem more controllable down low for slow speeds, not really a big difference then other pipes, but noticable. It's when you get the bike to just under the powerband when this exhaust shines. And when it comes on it hits hard and pulls really hard to the top then levels off. It's not that it falls on its face, just eases out. You definately don't have to worry about short shifting and losing power with these pipes. They've responded nicely with each mod I bolted on and are unreal with my combination as of now. I can't say how they'd act with porting and bigger carbs but I have a feeling that they're about maxxed out. Besides, after you do all the bolt-ons and are ready to crack open the motor and go big, you're gonna want to look into some drag pipes anyway. Just my .02
  12. I give it the old "push down on the tire with your hand" technique on the front tires. Too hard and you feel every rock, rut, and stump on the trail. The rear tires, I eye up the tread so it's level for that even grip
  13. If you're not doing any porting this round, try the Vito's super stock forged for a lil boost in power. I like them.
  14. Hey DMC, how do you like the PT's? How would you compare them to the DMC's?
  15. Razr II's all the way!!!! <-------------------
  16. I pretty much just snuged them up as well. That was 3 years ago and still going on strong (knock on wood) .
  17. I'm STILL on my origional front pads!!! I've replaced my rear pads at least 7 times. I'm still running my origional rotor but it's getting pretty bad now. I'm starting to get a lip on the outside of the rotor. I use the EBC pads and they used to be alright untill they started color coding the pads. I got a new set which were the red kind and they only lasted 3 rides!!! They say to use the green kind because it's for mud and dirt. Gonna go try a pair soon. Yeah the pads are a ridiculous price and the rotor you can go a while untill it gets really grooved up. I've ran them down to the metal a couple of times but the rotor isnt like a car where you need to be precise or it stops like crap and everything vibrates. Good luck.
  18. I dunno he gave up. He sucks at riding anyway. I wanted to jump on his bike and see how it would do but I didn't get a chance Funny you should ask about the clutch bolts. I actually overtourqued one of my bolts and snapped the head off :shoothead: . Got the stud EZ outed and replaced. Was kinds hard to feel the torque on the bolt with the heavy duty springs. I guess that's what I get for not using a torque wrench.
  19. Hope you can race your a$$ off. My boy has a 02 with just a filter and pipes and he got eaten like a White Castle burger. He was up against both honda's and Yama 450's
  20. Do you think maybe your friend started putting regular in the shee? With your advanced timing it's mandatory that you run primo in her. As the gas you had in the bike was burnt, and he kept topping off the tank with regular, it could create a gradual loss of power. Just a thought.
  21. Sounds like DG nerfs. Mine came with a 1/2" spacer and a longer bolt. Just do the same with some washers and a bolt at the hardware store. Good luck. To be really safe, get all the bolts 1/4" longer. With the nerf bars in place you lose much needed thread into the quad. The stock bolts origionally only thread into the quad about 3/4"
  22. I'll take any "sit down" restaurant. Fast food is only fast through me. I've had both Taco Bell and Del Taco and think Del Taco is better. Wendy's definately is a better burger joint. F Burger King and Mc Donald's Can't stand any fast chicken joint. I always have time for a Philly cheesesteak.
  23. I knew there would be at least somebody who would be offended by my last comment. So because you asked a question, I will try to answer the best I can: 03 Banshee: Pro circuit pipes, v-force reeds, trinity head, Trinity 2 into 1 intake 00 Banshee: Pro Circuit pipes, v-force reeds, Cool head 98 Banshee: T-6 pipes, v-force reeds, cool head, adj. timing plate, 34mm carbs 02 Banshee: Pipes & silencers 2 YFZ 450's one piped 5 or 6 TRX 450R's some piped 440 ex 400 ex These were friends of mine and we had drag race sessions once a day on the 3 days mentioned. There were others but I didn't know them. First off I want to say that I AM NOT BRAGGING! I'm just simply replying to a question. I'll also admit that i'm NOT the fastest Banshee around. With my tires, gearing, mods, and launch technique, I honestly can say my machine does very well for what it is. I have lost some races due to missing gears, uncontrolled launch, and just being too cocky. In the end we all had a great time and we all enjoyed the fact that our large group had the chance to ride with one another. None of us came out strictly to drag race. We enjoy hill climbs, trail rides, drags, and quarry jumps and have built our machines to accomidate all of this. I will also comment that these pistons are NOT an alternative to porting. They ARE an excellent, cheap way of getting a few more ponies out of your machine. I did race a ported Shee a few years back and no piston would have saved me from that a$$ whoopin'. My apologies to the creator of this post for being off topic.
