  1. All bikes have an ac magneto, the regulator/rectifier changes the ac/dc. The bikes that are converted to dc have factory floated grounds on the stator. Look at the diagram closer.
  2. We have lots of trees in Oregon.
  3. Yeah, eventually the bases get loose too, then the flag just pops out even if your going fast. The big fads on the Oregon coast where billet flag holders, then the air fitting type, then the pop its, and now the firestiks.
  4. I strongly disagree, pc's are a low-mid pipe that has an even lower redline rpm than a 2 into 1 pipe. So there is no possible way they rev a little higher than the T5 does. The T5 is a mid-top pipe that was designed off the gold series pipe. Their power characteristics are almost identical, except the fmf gold series makes more lower midrange power from my experience with it. THE T5 AND THE FMF GOLD SERIES PIPES DEFINITELY REV WAY HIGHER THAN THE PRO CIRCUITS DO!
  5. The RZ is a dc system. The first thing listed after the stator is a regulator/rectifier.
  6. I have had my firestik with the spring base for 3 years now and never broke it. I have flipped and rolled the bike several times too.
  7. You need to tell us what type of riding you do, and shame on all you other guys for not asking that first. FMF makes 4 different pipes that are easily obtainable right now, so its going to depend on your riding type. Also, a list of mods to the bike would be handy, and some insight to future mods as well.
  8. The opposite of advancing it.
  9. Nope, at 160 psi compression with +4 timing you can run 92 octane fuel. With my dyna installed I had to run 1 gallon of 110 octane mixed in. At 185 psi compression I run the dyna and +4 timing with straight 110 octane. It can also depend on your pipes and porting as to how high the bike revs and if you will get detonation. I have a low rpm set of pipes, so I could actually probably get away with 50/50 race gas right now.
  10. The pro circuits have a lower redline rpm than ptr mids, and make more broader torque and hp than ptr mids. At least thats how its been on 3 motors we have compared the two different pipes on. So I would say the pro circuit is a better low-mid pipe than the ptr mids.
  11. Are you sure, because the sst is a mid-top pipe. Its actually supposed to start later and end later than a fatty. The fatty is the pipe thats closest to the T5 for powerband comparisons.
  12. Thats like a mid-top dune port. Its a little more exhaust duration than I lke to run. I like to keep em at 188 degrees or lower, but I like low-mid motors.
  13. You can retard most plates for topend power.
  14. 20cc domes at about 160 psi compression with the single pipe and single carb. I run 18cc domes at 185 psi compression with twin pipes and twin carbs now. I have a port job with a very slightly raised exhaust port, so the compression numbers will vary from a stock motor with the same size domes.
  15. Oh, there is a guy who lives in the town I grew up in that takes a twister bike to Beverly every year for our annual local trip. Its very odd to see it there. We usually have around 150-200 people from our hometown out there on a certain weekend in April. I have been there, and we have taken a few fast bikes at times. I haven't gone for 3 years though because of the dust. This is the twister bike.
  16. I live in Bonney Lake, near sumner and Auburn. We have a family lake house in Moses Lake, but I dont take my bikes to moses lake much. I took it once last year to do some jetting changes after switching pipes and carbs, and thats about it. Last time I was on the dunes, I rode a jet ski there, ands walked about 30 feet onto the beach. I cant stand the dust and the gravel there. Juniper is a lot bigger and cooler. But like firehead said, its the same time for me to go to sand lakes as moses lake when I am at home. Next time we are going riding, is to Sand lake on the weekend of April 24th.
  17. Im more partial to the noss and pro design because the domes and o-rings are more common.
  18. There is no such thing as a stage 5 head.
  19. You asked which silencers, there is already a search engine that can help find that. Its called google, and you can look on the manufacturers website. I think people rely too much on what other people say. There are quie a few posts on this forum with everything from word of mouth to dyno testing. You guys just need to use the search to find the stuff.
  20. You have to call duncan racing about spark arrestors. FMF makes a forest approved silencer. I got a question. Why do you ask me what silencers to use? Why cant you google the pipes, or go to the manufacturers website. Most of you guys with these really easy questions manage to find this site. How come you cant research your questions and get answers yourself? I know from being on the FMF website that they offer forset approved silencers, so whats holding you back from finding out that info? Another thing, I always see people come on here and ask where to get something at, like pipes, or carbs. Does anyone know how to use a search engine? I google searched fmf forest approved silencer banshee. here is what I got. Google Search results
