  1. some people also say 4 strokes dont use reeds.. but that isn't true either.
  2. i'm going to have my head chromed. Even a clear coat powder will eventually haze and cloud up and youd have to blast the old powder off and repolish the cylinders.. your better off leaving them bare where you can at least touch them up or re polish as needed without blasting. Chrome is not a insulator. Chromium is a metal and has conductive properties. It will dissipate heat. Powder however is a insulator and will hold in heat. So if your worried about heat.. Be more worried about powder then chrome. I've PC'd cylinders and heads in the past and had no problems. I think the process with chrome plating may conflict with Nikasil plating though.. so that may not be a option for some cylinders as both processes require a acid bath. http://cgi.ebay.com/...sQ5fAccessories I wouldn't let heat detour anyone from having engine components chromed.
  3. hmm.. you might be onto something.. Sell your bike and build a taco stand.
  4. just a idea.. why not setup your carbs for your application? that way you know its done right for you. Just sayin...
  5. Welded transfers huh?.. lol that porting on the intake looks a bit different. how about some peeks? gonna be one hell of a dune build!
  6. Its the angle. The CEL is richer on the needle length.. not the taper. 38.15 vs 39.95 of the D(G)K First letter is Taper Second is Length Third is diameter CEL Tapper = 1*34' length = 38.15mm and diameter is 2.705mm
  7. not entirely true.. the DGK is richer on the Taper and diameter.. teh CEL is richer on the length.
  8. I've seen them new for up to 1500. This guy dont go into much detail on whats all been done.. If its got a performance motor setup.. it could easily be worth what he's asking. It might not be worth it to some.. but that dont mean its not worth what he's asking. I could find a pot that cost over 2,000.. Not worth it to me.. but i'm sure someone might find interest in it and pay its value.
  9. the throttle position wouldn't affect shifting from a improperly adjusted shift segment.
  10. best bet is to talk with a builder. he'll know what pipes work best with his setups.
  11. PT hi-rev.. They actually have great bottom/mid (not as good as a PT-Mid) and rev better then a t-5. IMO
  12. I wouldn't do a PT mid.. Your jumping from one end to the other. if you like the PT pipe.. a good choice would be the PT high-rev. they actually have a pretty solid midrange for a "top end" pipe.
  13. Jeff's work is sick. second to none. Best in the biz if you ask me. maybe one day.. he'll take some time out and work on his own stuff. Its not the same if jeff isn't in the dunes with his signature pants kicking ass. lol
  14. I guess I'm not seeing the joke.. thats a liquid cooled 2 stroke motor.. that is not your joe blow battery powered pocket.. I bet that thing scoots.. and is worth what he's asking. I'm sure he's got more then that tied up into that thing.
  15. I'll usually lube the chain after a wash.. just to keep the rollers from rustin.. but I dont soak the chain down before and after every ride.
  16. JD, you got room homie.. I was counting you for 2 bikes anyways. Chris said we got a 24' enclosed trailer this year.. so LOTS of room
  17. if you make it out.. swing by the drag strip and bull shit for a bit!
  18. i would check dbl check squish.
  19. I use stock ignition on everything.. some prefer PVL.. its really preference.
  20. Not if we set up boobie traps... lol
