I've never had a problem with scaring. But its not like I sit there and adjust them daily. I set them in once, adjusted once and haven't had to fool wirh them for a few seasons.

There is a company outa Michigan that sells +1 anti vibe stems for if I remember correct $150 or maybe slightly more. They are on eBay, have a search. I'm on my phone so I'm not searchingvfor you, ha. I know a few guys on here run them. Look to be nice units. Maybe they will chime in on the company, or I will send you the link when I get home. (+) Anti vibes are nice.

I use the metal screws with my 35's. Easy to turn with your fingers and springs on them. $10 I think they were for both.

They make a 68 bore cheetah as well. Usually called the 400.
