I'm a small block chevy guy, built my fair share of motors. I would really suggest picking up a couple of books. My favorite is a guy by the name of David Vizard. Horespower vol.1, 2, 3. Vol. 1 really touches base on combinations, thats really the key to building power and using it with the proper gearing. You want a good match with intake ,carb, heads and camshaft. Another book by the late John Lingenfelter is a good bible to. These guys build real usable power. David Vizard has quite a selection for good reading, Both John and David have there engine combinations in the back of there books with real dyno charts. If your interested we can talk more.
