  1. now i know why some animals kill thier young.......... :shoothead:
  2. the BHQ is an excellent resource for anyone that owns and maintains a banshee. i,ve gotten alot of tips, advice, great deals on parts, and entertainment from this site. buying a premium membership shows that you are committed to supporting the longevity of the site. a good way to show your appreciation as well.
  3. if your wrong on this one and its not just an honest mistake by the seller, you're really going to look like the a-hole! report it as internet fraud if you think you have to. you don't need the HQ to make that step for you. do what you gotta do. i'm not buying full-bores and didn't see the post until now.
  4. float might be stuck on the carb or check your float needle, it could be leaking.
  5. is eric's website still up and running and does anyone have it's address?
  6. i think there was a few posts by somebody from australia to.
  7. hey formula, they didn't happen to have a curve for DMC 916 pipes did they. i had this issue of dirt wheels but it went missing somehow. i would like to see the dyno curve for these pipes if you got it. thanks!
  8. she's gotta be a pumpkin smuggler. cause those can't be real!
  9. looked at the crank again and it has " hot rods" on one side and "C.K. 158" on the other side of each rod. thats all the markings that are on the rods. did't find any more I.D marks on the crank either. i tried measuring from the rotating center of the pins and crank on the rods and it looks to be approximately 115mm.still not sure if it's a +4 stroke 115mm rod crank or not?
  10. measured the rods this morning and they seem to be approximately 115mm long. still can't find any other #s . the bearings have #s on them but i couldn't find any others on the crank . i will get some pics of this posted later on. where on the crank is the h129 # located ?
  11. my vote for banshee of the water would be the Seadoo Gsx limited. 950cc two stroke engine. the speedo tops out at around 70 mph. will take the gps with me to check top speed but you can tell it is mov'in real fast. it handles well and is very agile. alot better in choppy/rough water than the old XP models. shitloads of fun!
  12. just received crank from a seller. supposed to be a +4 stroke/ 115mm long rod crank. how can i be sure it is what the seller said it is. the only i.d. # on the crank is HR 204. anybody know if these are the right #s for this crank? i thought hot rods cranks were manufactured by wiseco. went to thier site but found no info on them. :baseball_wassat: help!!!
  13. hmmm. :baseball_w00t: super turbo boost bottles for sale! $250 each ! get em' here now!!!!
  14. are these carbs tm-tmx( flat slides) or vm (roundslides)?
  15. purely out of curiosity, how would think you would go about cleaning your carburetors? give us a detailed explaination and we'll tell you if you are wrong or any details or steps you have missed.sometimes doing things for yourself is a good way to learn. after that you'll probably remember the proceedure alot easier. just trying to help.
  16. they just take up space in front of your carbs and get in the way. ditto to what bansheebrian said! just say no to boost bottles! save your money for fuel!
  17. been hoarding parts like crazy for the last 2 months(carbs,reeds,+4mm crank, adjustable timing plate, head and pipes) getting ready for an engine build. looking seriously at the passion 12 port jugs to top off my cases. what kind of h.p. #s are you guys getting out of this engine with a +4mm long rod crank and stock bore. i realize hp #s on paper don't matter as long as it goes like a raped ape but i'd like to know the potential of this set up. will be using pump gas and 35mm carbs. looking to build a very hot open-trail/fireroad machine. if possible i'd like to see some dyno pulls.please post some #s. thanks in advance! oh yah, thanks to everybody who helped me out with the parts. :thumb:
  18. bought a set of cases from Guy . they were in good shape just like he had said. thanks for a smooth transaction. :thumb:
  19. lean mixtures occur when carbs get gummed up from old fuel. the old fuel or "varnish" clogs up the jets and decreases thier size or internal diameter.this can lead to a piston seizure. dirt can also lodge in a main jet and lean out your mixture. depending on the size of the restriction it may/or will cause a piston seizure also.dirty carb bowels can be the cause of this. implementing a proper preventive maintenance program will help you avoid any of the above complications. consult your manual! if you don't have a manual get one! clean your carbs if they are dirty!!! if they aren't, do it anyway.be diligent in your maintenance!if you could please post detailed explainations, diagrams and or pictures of your maintenance proceedures we could then help you out by critiqueing your work.please forward these. have fun. play safe! (who hoo! almost over the 100 post mark!)
  20. i got Mc Afee right now and it needs to be updated fairly soon. any better products around offering greater protection, before i run down to Staples for an update?
  21. road racer is a good seller. bought 2 35mm mikuni tmx carbs and they were delivered as said. thankx! :thumb:
  22. It's probably what they call a "piston port" or "piston reed"type of engine. the old arctic cat twins had this type of set-up on their 650 and 700 snowmobile engines. some even have a small internal reed positioned between the cylinder and the case. i've got one of these cylinders kicking around here somewhere and can post pics later today.
