  1. oops sorry for the pm on the spacers , thought you still had em!
  2. will give you 350 for the crank.
  3. if anyone has a set of egt gauges hooked up, it would be real interesting to watch the exhaust temperatures before, during and after this "flat spot". try doing this in 5th or 6th gear while rolling on the throttle where the problem is more noticeable.it may tell the story on whether it's a rich or lean problem.
  4. Lethaface is one of the good guys. 100% pleased with the pipes i bought from him. definately a man of his word!
  5. thankx fellas. been into 2-stroke racing for a while now(mostly snowmobiles/case reed 2stroke engines). it seems the more i learn the more questions i have.just a continuous learning curve i guess.
  6. any good books out there that cover 2 stroke theory in-depth?. port shapes, port durations/timing,compression ratios and pipe design as it applies to the banshee engine?
  7. looking for +4 stroker crank w/115mm long rods.pm me if you've got one to sell.
  8. hi! tried to PM you but could not get through. how much for the stroker crank? 115mm or stock stroke?pm me if you can.
  9. its about $130 a square foot up here in nova scotia. starting from bare ground to the time the last light fixture is installed.
  10. you,ve been PM'd!
  11. most snowmobile manufacturers are using nikasil lined cylinders now and have been for a while. i don't think there is any issues with nikasil lined bores except they are expensive to replate when you squeak a piston and damage the aluminum underneath the nikasil. they make more power, run cooler, disapate heat better and (im guessing on this one) heat up quicker than iron cylinders. in very cold climates you have to warm up your machine to avoid a cold seizure but i can't see it being a problem in the desert. your builder has either misunderstood your question or has been "touched by the sun god"
  12. got an avenger 2 that i'm not using any more so i figure i'll try and hook it up to the shee. how far away from the cylinders should i drill the holes for the probes to get an accurate reading. anybody else running egts out there?
  13. just get the dmc pipes with alien exhaust.same pipes with different silencers.(twin silencers).
  14. hmmm , there won't be any trips to "Lesotho" in my future. a little previous research on the area they were visiting might have been a good idea though. kinda like going tenting in bagdad and wondering why your being shot at! sounds like the locals just aren't that receptive to outsiders for some reason.
  15. there is two different schools of thought on this. some point the electrode towards the intake some point it towards the exhaust.saw it in an artical in snowtech magazine so i tried it on a 800 tripple ski-doo. didn't notice any difference in power either way.it would give you something to do if you were really bored i suppose. although some hardcore racers swear by it.
  16. anyone running a single carb with this engine and still having the flat spot? just a thought.
  17. www.joesalter.com top of the line ,rare collectable firearms.most are in pristine condition.specializes/deals in mostly antique weaponry. if you don't see it on the site just ask and he can find it for you. this guy is very well connected in the fire-arms community.
  18. heard F.A.S.T was getting a website. any progress reports? just wondered how it was coming along.
  19. those motors like thier fuel and some came from the factory with twin mikuni fuel pumps. are you running two pumps or just one? and also, cat motors (at least older ones) are known for thier shitty stators.that might be your problem. i know that my buddies zrt tripple 800 used to go through a few and people always seem to be looking for stators for older cats , so quality was probably bad on all of them.
  20. yep , thats the old 700 piston port motor. like i said, try some of the companies i mentioned before, for performance parts. those are stock pipes that are on it now.(modified just a bit). half of the battle with a snowmobile engine is the clutching.peak horse power is supposed to be around 8100-8200 rpm for that motor. if its got a tach in it check your rpms to see if thats where its reving.(hold wide open under load/while driving) if its over or underyour peak hp range, you,re losing power and should make changes to your clutch set up.either add or subtract weight from your primary clutch levers.if you need any set up advice just pm me.
  21. night, people can post all kinds of pics for you, but it's not going to help unless you check it out your self. try filling your tank(turn off fuel first) and disconnect the fuel line.make sure the banshee is on a level surface.put a bucket or container under your fuel valve(petcock) turn the petcock/valve to the normal "on" position and see how much you get in the bucket.you can even measure it if you want!!! then turn the petcock to the reserve position and see how much fuel comes out in the bucket or container. this should tell you how much reserve capacity you actually have.. if you can't do this yourself take it to a shop or find someone who can help you with it. purely out of curiosity, where exactly are you from?
