  1. With rezzies? The only shocks they make with rezzies are the FLOAT evols, and they don't make them for the banshee. The FLOAT doesn't have a rezzie, but it does have basically a built in one. There is a floating piston seperating the oil from high pressure nitrogen. And yes thats all seperate from the air spring. I haven't heard a bad thing about them yet, although not to many people have them. I plan on getting some in a month or 2, and I'll definately post a review on them.
  2. Mostly 2nd on the hills here. Most of them are in the 60 ft range about 70 to 80 degrees, enough you can't climb up them on foot. Don't have much of a run on most of them. Depends on the top too, alot of them are vertical the last 10-20 feet, and third gear would send you flying off the top, and generally down the other side. I'll try and get some pics sometime this week if I can, the place has closed down, and most of the really insane hills are under water now (they stop pumping the water out when they get done mining). Still fun though. Never hurts to start in 3rd if you can, just don't downshift too early and kill your momentum, or too late and come out the power.
  3. Ah, theres hills like that all over around here. Clay pits that aren't mined any more, 100 - 200 ft hills so steep you fuck up you might hit once on the way down.
  4. Holy punctuation batman, thats one long sentence! :baseball_w00t:
  5. I ride in alot of tight woods, and honestly experience is what makes the difference. Basically its throttle control, the ability to keep it right on the bottom edge of the powerband, without getting into it and making yourself wreck. Being able to work the clutch helps, but over the past few years I use it less and less. As far as setup goes, first off either buy a cool head, or shave the head to bump up the compression. If your in 1st gear most of the time, then drop the front sprocket 1 tooth. Low end pipes might not hurt (IMO pointless though, they don't increase power off the pipe, they just shift the power curve lower). 2-1 carb is popular, and helps. MX or woods port would be your best bet. Most of all, just ride.
  6. Wow, 1. Only one. How many banshees can run a 3.9 or faster? I know theres at least 6 at the track closest to me. Go troll somewhere else.
  7. Show me a 4 stroke that has done a 3.9 second 100 yd drag.
  8. Around here it wouldn't go for any more 3000. $2500 would be more realistic. Course it could be different where you live. Best bet is to check your local classifieds and see what stuff sells for.
  9. Right... Just keep riding that boat anchor of yours, and wiping my dust from your eyes. :yelrotflmao:
  10. Yep. And if you already have the arms on the way, then just sit them to the side until you get some shocks too. Check ebay out. Theres always good deals on there. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/YAMAHA-BANS...1QQcmdZViewItem
  11. Hmmm, I had a roommate a couple years ago from Cary that used to ride. I'll give him a call and see if he knows anywhere. Off the top of my head though, I don't think theres that much public riding areas open up there. Might be a couple tracks.
  12. Well, if they make it for the banshee, I doubt they would make it where it would interfere. They wouldn't sell too many if you couldn't start your quad once you put it on.
  13. They announce a plan like this that people won't like, and doesn't make sense. Stocks drop, they buy it back cheap. Then renounce the plan later. Pretty sure thats against the law too. We'll see though.
  14. Ok, soooo, whats wrong with closing the "store", getting a real website, and still selling stuff on ebay? I never really got the whole store idea anyways.
  15. Renegade = 65 hp, 596 lbs 0.109 hp/lb YFZ450 with basic bolt ons = 45 hp, 350 lbs 0.129 hp/lb Banshee with pipes, and port job = 55 hp, 386 lbs 0.142 hp/lb Can Am renegade MSRP = $9,299.00 :yankyank: Yeah, Im really shaking in my boots. Watch out, the 10 grand 4x4 is going to whoop our asses :yelrotflmao: When it beats anything else that has 10 grand into, then I'll be impressed.
  16. Sounds good to me! Overnight a new clutch, and get it on ASAP. And rear brakes are overrated anyways, you don't need them.
  17. If all else fails, look at some of the other companies that build those integrated ball joints into their arms. I know some of them still do, although I can't think of who off the top of my head. Could be possible that something could be ghetto-rigged to fit.
  18. Well first what exactly are you talking about photographing? Dunes, MX, desert, woods? Id try and find somewhere that has as many varied terrains as possible. Plus some great scenery doesn't hurt. Im sure you could find plenty of qualified willing people on here, but Id make sure you have good locations available before you go. Going to film someone ride some MX at a shitty track thats small as hell wouldn't give you much opportunity. Hell I think many of us would be willing and able to do it, I would. You just have to narrow it down to figure out what you want.
  19. While thats true, every 2 stroke is different, and the more people work on a motor, they more they learn what works well, and what doesn't. I'd try and find someone that does jetski motors, if only for the fact they'll probably be faster at it (which would probably mean cheaper too).
  20. Aftermarket shocks built for a banshee.
  21. No problems. Id found that one first, good info. http://www.f-5performance.com/powderoven.htm Thats another one I found, goes into more detail about some stuff. Caswellplating.com has some pretty good forums too. I've found enough stuff that I know what to do, and the result will just depend on what supplies I can get locally.
  22. Id planned on gutting some ovens at first, cuz I figured buying new stuff would be expensive, but it isn't too bad. Plus Id be pissed if my newly salvaged elements die within a week (had to be at the dump for some reason right?). And as far as shooting, I'll just hang plastic from the ceiling and do it indoors. To easy to mess stuff up outside with wind and pollen and so on. Wheels aren't a bad I idea either, I'd just planned on putting it next to the garage door. Yeah, 12kw is a little much, 7 kw should be enough. And running a new breaker is no problem (out in the shop, and it has its own service seperate from the house). I'll definately let you know when Im done, although it will probably be a month or 2, hopefully not much more. Already figured out the color for my frame too, silver vein base coat with a pearl candy blue topcoat.
  23. Ok good then, I was thinking it would be plenty big. And I would like to know what you did for the temperature controls. http://cgi.ebay.com/Kiln-Temperature-Contr...1QQcmdZViewItem Thats the kit thats been recommended to me, but I wouldn't mind seeing other ideas.
  24. Well, I've been gonna powdercoat my frame a swingarm for a while now, but the closest shops to do it are an hour away, and charge around $200 bucks. The more I've looked into it, for a few hundred more, I can buy a cheap gun, and build an oven, and do it myself. And so once I got the gears turning in my head, Im pretty well set on it. Just wondering, If I was going to be doing other things in the future, like bike frames, how big you think I should build the oven? I was thinking 6'x4'x5' (WxDxH) would be big enough.
  25. I make no sense? :yelrotflmao: :yelrotflmao: :yelrotflmao: Whatever dude, you're the one wanting to put a 4 stroke bashing sticker on your truck (which is a 4 stroke).
