Tell him to add some hydrogen peroxide to the fuel. Then maybe he will have a chance.

why are 4 strokes more reliable
ojcool replied to the doug1789's topic in General Banshee Discussion
Well, hopefully we will both be wrong and they will redisign the banshee with current technology... And powervalves!!!!!! I would like to see EFI on everything just cause it's a heck of alot more convinent to tune as long as you have enough injector duty cycle to get the fuel you need. And a way to properly command that fuel of course. -
Well it's no 400EX........ Seriously though, If you want to pick up some quick power put a cool head on it, or mill the stock head. If the compression is good that is. Or port the jugs. Only go pods if you don't do any water crossing...... Sucks to be on wet muddy trails with pods on the bike.

Actually 608lbs. The Outlander version is too soft around corners for my taste. Still pretty impressive power though. Wondering what the Artic Cat is going to be like. These utility quads are just going nuts on motor. Good, most Utility Quads are Way underpowered. Just wondering if my neighbors nephew at 125lbs is going to work over the Outlaw 525 too bad. (I'm 235lbs) or the banshee. Right now I'm thinking the Outlaw is faster than the banshee, but I have not been on the Yamaha for awhile.

Anyone raced any of the Can Am 800's. My neighbor has a Outlander 800 (basically the utility quad version of the Renagade). It's pretty fast, the renagade is supposed to be faster though.

I learned something important over the weeked, bikes don't run good when you forget to put the TPS sensor back on when you install the jet kit.
-
Well he should not be polishing the intake. Thats for exhaust.

At least someone around here knows whats up. But we are not talking woods only here. We are talking drag, mudding, hillclimb, sand you name it. 400ex is the single greatest innovation of the 21st century.... I wish I really owned one.
-
So whats up with your bike, you sold the 4mil and are building a 10mil? What are you riding labor day weeked?
-
You heard me, who's got some. I have raced over 50 banshees and pulled 34 bikes on every one.
-
I wish there was some sand to ride around virginia. I have been forced to turn to the dark side (4 stroke) due to the places we have to ride. Can you camp at silverlake?
-
What? Pinnacle creek is just one little part of the Crumpler/Hatfield trail system. There is no way you rode every trail in that area in one day. Did you ride the stair steps? Go up behind Pinnacle creek and that trail will take you to another coal mine area. Dude you can ride 100+ miles easily in that area and never ride the same trail twice.

Nope bone stock 400ex and third day riding. Easy win.

It's because of the torque and the way the plastics are designed. Banshee's are notorious for being really un aerodynamic. Plus 400ex's have electric start and while your kicking and kicking I'll be at the end of the track sipping mai thai cocktails and chattin with the ladies. plus it's a honda so it's super reliable. Plus mine has a bigger front sprocket so it's totally modded. Oh and a magnetic drain plug.
-
400EX will own any banshee modded or unmodded in any race.
-
I call BS. I have heard through the grapevine that that bike has an Tomos moped engine on it. The one with the two speed transmission. Thats like a chevy two speed powerglide. Not a fair race, has to be an actual banshee engine. And no boost bottles.
-
Your no fun.
-
377 would mean its been bored .090. You only have one bore left on those jugs before they need to be sleeved or replaced. What kind of pipes and tires, what else.
-
I'm going to go ahead and make a statement here to revive this thread. A bone stock Outlaw 525 will destory any banshee, with any mods, in any race, from trails to drag to dunes......... Period.

Decent Quality headsets that work with the cheap motorolla talkabout two way radios. Here is the link, fast shipping cheapest I have found. They get the job done and have the Push to Talk button that goes on the handlebars. http://www.dynamicdesignsus.com/servlet/Ca...ets%3AFull+Face

why are 4 strokes more reliable
ojcool replied to the doug1789's topic in General Banshee Discussion
I would convert to fuel injection in a heartbeat. I know of at least two other members on this forum that are well versed in EFI applications. But what makes you think Fuel injection would revive two strokes? Besides making tuning a whole lot easier. From what I have seen on current production fuel injected ATV's most companies have opted to use a speed density FI setup which is not ideal for making two strokes more EPA compliant. But what do you want to have a mass air meter and o2 feedback on an ATV. I just don't think it would be practical for the kind of enviroment ATV's are subjected to. I don't think Fuel injection will net longer life to an properly tuned engine. Perhaps it would defer some laziness of ATV riders being able to compensate for altitude changes without re jetting ect. Speed Density from a performacne point of view would be preferable due to it's limited sensor feedback, just not form a EPA compliance view. Which is the real reason why two strokes are on their way out. -

" why are 4-strokes more reliable than two strokes" Because the people who own them are gay and homos are really easy on their bikes. They give them names like "thor" and "funbuns" and rub them with a diaper every nite before bedtime.. -
I have a theory that the EPA has totally screwed with the aftermarket world. Have you noticed that all the exhaust companies are only giving main jets with their kits now? I'm realatively new to the ATV world so I don't know if they used to include pilots but when I buy an $80 jet kit I expect to get alot of f'ing jets and pilots. I got five main jets and a needle. I'm thinking that the EPA has cracked down on aftermarket companies telling them they cannot enable customers to screw with the idle a/f ratios but only sell prouducts that will put the fuel into the higher RPM's to keep their prouducts form blowing up engines. Anyone heard anything like that before. I have noticed that HmF and FMf both say "we left the pilot stock" and blah blah main jet and everythings just peachy, but when I have tried to tune like they say my bike runs like total crap down at the bottom because it's too fing lean. I found it on the BruteForce 650sra and this Outlaw 525. Getting pilots is like pulling teeth for these bikes. It seems that the Banshee is one of the few bikes that pilot changes are the norm. I'm getting pegged wideband a/f reading at idle of 22.39:1 at idle and with choke on it only drops into the 19:1's. If that dosen't say pilot I don't know what else does. If it was fuel injected I would expect to see a/f of 15:1 to 19:1 on decel and cruise with no load but not on a carburator.

I was tuning on the Outlaw 525 last night and I datalogged RPMs up into 10k. So unless my RPM transfer function was off, which is possible since I just rigged it all together last night and made two quick runs in the dark..... With the 175 main I was getting 13.5:1 to 14:1 af at that RPM. Scary lean at idle, more than normal pegging the wideband lean. I need more fuel down there.
