  1. bansheezer im having thhe same problem, and i know it isnt the pilots because i cleaned mine right out i cleaned the whole carb, but im stil getting oil out the pipe and it hesitates right as i l et ou tthe clutch and acts like its gonna die, im pretty sure my reeds are good.
  2. sorry guys i just never torqued the head down to specs. uhhhhhh. i got one more question my shifting is way off like when i sit there and try to shift. i dont think we ever adjusted that flathead tip screw on the shift shaft, is that why it doesnt shift right. because i ccan get neutral then go to first then when i shift up it soundns like it kinda shifts twice or maybe its inbetween gears or something but i can only shift up once then it stops. what is the problem?
  3. is the head the problem because im not getting gas to the cylinders, because the plugs are dry.
  4. umm as far as the idle i have the tors removed what do i do to set the idle? sorry i sound stupid jsut dont want to f soemthing up
  5. im sure the slides arent in backwards, but the choke tube im not sure if its on the right way anyone got a picture of it?
  6. just rebuilt the top end i am getting spark and fuel and the carbs are getting fuel but for some reason the plugs are dead dry and it wont start. It will if i put gas directly into the cylinder for a second then it will die. Then u just kic kkick kick and it doesnt start. what is the problem?

  9. the shifter wont shift up sometimes. you can go down to first, neutral, 2nd, 3ed, 4th but sometimes it wont get to 5th or 6th but other times it will. has this ever happened to anyone else? My banshee has some wierd shit going on since this rebuild dang.

  11. I dont understand the breather hose that comes out of the crankcase, that is back by the engine mounting bolt(I think is what that is called its underneath the airbox) does it suck air in or let air out?
  12. I'm looking to buy one and i can get a good deal on a dyna iginition but its for a 1987-1994 banshee while i have a 1998 banshee. Will it work?
  13. when i turn my handlebars right or left my tires turn really sharp almost like theyre close to perpendicular with my bike. I guess u could say they lock up toowhen u turn it too sharp. what does this mean?
  14. I was torquing the clutch bolt down to 66ft/lbs and we dont have the clutch thing and the dealer doesnt have it so we wedged a piece of board in with a clutch holder my dad got from his store. Well needless to say one of the clutch basket teeth broke off, will it be ok to ride on if its jsut 1 tooth for the weekend then I will replace it? the torque wrench clicked right as the tooth broke.
  15. since im rebuilding my whole motor we got to putting it back togther , the guy doing it says maybe since the head is milled .025 thousands to increase compression, which was just recently done, that i will maybe need a thicker base gasket, so there will be no pinging. But wouldnt that just cancel out the milling if u get a thicker base gasket? Or should i just stick with stock base gasket?
  16. im running at the oregon dunes with im jsut gonna tell you the main size which is 310's and i have reed spacers, mild port and polish ,wiseco pro lites, and pro circuit pipes head just got shaved to .025 over. since i will be at sea level will premium gas be good? because the only other place i know of that sells high octane gas around my area is at 118 octane.
  17. Has anyone heard of this product, they say it cools 20 degreez cooler than engine ice, well it says it cools better atleast. Anyone know what i should use engine ice or liquid performance?
  18. i was using klotz benol, but when i took my engine apart i noticed some gum spots on my piston, so im guessing i need to get a full synthetic? Is klotz r-60 or is ti r-90 a full synthetic, or i can get amsoil, but it would be really easy to get maxima super m. what do you guys think? oh with the klots im running 36:1 and i want to keep it at that ratio if possible. thanks

  21. im running 's at sea leavel and i think stock pilot and needle on 4th clip. i have mild port and pro circuits k and n dircect clamp ons and reed spacers. my head is getting milled .025 over will i need to go up on the main or do you think i will be ok?

  23. well i threw a rod bearing in my engine and the thing is totally apart right now. everything is being worked on so i have time to mess with my carbs. first off i was running 280's because i forgot to rejet when i went down to sea level from the mountains. i have a mild port and polish k and n clamp ons and pro circuit pipes, and i am getting a shaved head. .025 over and when the motor blew the right side had piston damage, but the left side looked normal why is that? also i am gonig to run 310's with needle on the 4th clip down and stock pilots, i am using stock pilots because they work just fine. also can u blow ur top end if your needle is too lean or if your pilot is too lean or isd it usually because the mai9n is too lean? anyone have suggestions on jetting sizes?

  25. just got one but dont have my crank here at my house cause my bike is all torn apart does anyone know if 5/8 filter or 1/2 because i have the 5/8th but can trade it in for the 1/2 i just want to know so i can get all my parts togther thanks.
