  1. The answer to your question is still no. The twist throttle and the thumb throttle are going to use two different throttle cables.
  2. NASCAR is one of the slower sports to watch on tv, but it still beats the hell outta something like golf or tennis. At least with nascar you get to see somebody tear some shit up. Are you going to be the one to teach a chimp to swap paint at 180+ mph while drafting off the guy in front of him? Also, keep in mind that there is alot more to nascar than just a bunch of dumb rednecks making left hand turns all day long. There is alot of strategy that goes into it, as far as when to pit, and how much to do to the car when it hits the pits. You can argue all day long if the drivers are athletes or not, but have no doubt, that those guys down on pit road are definetly athletes. There are alot of the pit crews that try to recruit former NFL players, because they know that those guys are going to have the size, strength, speed, and understanding of good teamwork to be able to perform the way that pit crews in nascar need to perform. After all, 99% of the time, nascar races are won and lost in the pits.
  3. I've got a great dane, and never had her ears cropped. I'm really glad that I didn't. It is amazing the amount of facial expression those dogs give you with those ears. It adds so much more character.
  4. The only really big benefit of buying new, other than helping your credit, is the fact that you don't have to worry about how it's been used and abused in the past. If you buy a used bike, even if you have to do a complete rebuild, it should still end up being at least a couple thousand cheaper than buying a new one, and the used one should run better, because it should already have pipes and other stuff that you will eventually end up buying for a new one. You just have to watch out if you buy a used one, and make sure you're not getting screwed.
  5. According to mapquest, 3 hrs 49 min from me to deepwater. I can make it to Little Sahara in 4hrs. I gotta find somewhere closer to ride.
  6. Hack those front fenders, and move the headlights back to where they belong, and you have got one good looking shee.
  7. I'm about an hour and a half down the road in Fayetteville. If you find any good riding spots in SW Mizzou, let me know. The number of places to ride around here are starting to get kinda limited, and most of the ones you can ride either require a spark arrestor (don't have one) a registration sticker (don't have that either) or a hefty daily riding fee ($10 a day, per person is just a lil more than I wanna spend).

  9. The first three things you will want to buy for your banshee, in this order: 1. Clymer manual-this will answer pretty much all of your maintainance questions 2. A good set of pipes and some jets-This is a must have. The stock banshee pipes are worthless. Also, you're going to need to rejet pretty much anytime you change anything that effects how much fuel and air you are moving thru the motor, such as changing pipes. 3. A box of kleenex-So all those guys riding four pokes will have something to dry their tears with after you're done kicking their asses. Banshees do require a good deal of maintanance. The best thing you can do, is to figure out how to do it yourself. If you've got a friend that knows how to work on them, see if they can help you out, or feel free to ask questions on here. They really aren't very hard to work on for the most part. If you haul it to the dealership every time you need it worked on, it will end up costing you a small fortune.
  10. If you're pipes aren't designed to be ran without silencers, then I would guess that you will probably lose quite a bit of bottom end.
  11. I played trumbone and euphonium in the school band thru high school, and played euphonium my freshman year of college. I was a music major, so I had to take piano lessons while I was there. I did a year of that, along with a semester of clarinet. How much of it do I remember 10 years later? Not a damn bit.
  12. I work for a company that makes generic baby wipes. Basically that means my job is to make shitty jobs easier for less money.
  13. i've got a buddy who has gout. Some of the things that will make it worse are foods like sweet breads, some meats (liver, seafood, red meat), too much alcohol, and aspirin. As far as what you can take to get rid of the pain, ibuprofen is supposed to work really well, since it is a pain killer and anti-inflammatory medicine. Your doctor should be able to give you a prescription for some stuff called Colchicine, which should also help take care of your gout problem.
  14. I've never ran them, because it's extra cash I have to spend, and extra weight on the bike.
  15. He's complaining about a lack of blacks at the winter olympics??? Wouldn't that be about like asians complaining about their only being one asian (Yao Ming) in the NBA? Should we cut white athletes from our american olympic teams so that we can replace them with black athletes regardless of who is the better athlete, just so that we can say that our olympic team represents our country's true ethnic diversity? Maybe the best solution to racial equality would be to have the "Black Winter Olympics", where black athletes are the only ones allowed to compete. They've done it with the black music awards, and all black colleges. If I remember correctly, over 40 years ago the supreme court forced schools to segregate to promote racial equality, so why is it that everytime we move closer to this, the black community is so quick to try and move this in the opposite direction?
  16. See if you can sell it. It's a total and complete waste of money.
  17. I've got the aftermarket a-arms, I just haven't taken any pics with them on there yet.
  18. I've got a friend who is in the process of putting together a 427 big bore motor from ESR with the 4mm stroker crank, and their 11 port setup. He's planning on trying to run that with the negative 2" swingarm that he has on his shee now, and a set of 20x10x10 - 10 paddle extremes. I keep telling him that he better plan on having a few extra grab bars on hand, and get used to laying flat on his back
  19. The shee I bought was in pretty rough shape, but here's what I've got in it so far.... cost of the bike-$1000 rattle can paint to make it look decent for now, and sandblasting-$100 cylinder bore-$90 pistons, gaskets, seals, bearings-$150 new maier plastics-$350 seat cover-$40 handlebars and grips-$50 new brake pads all around-$45 new grab bar-$60 polished stainless grille-$55 polished aluminum stator cover-$180 polished aluminum dipstick-$25 Polished aluminum waterpump cover-$60 polished front brake resevoir cap-$15 stock replacement clutch cover that I'm polishing myself-$40 G-force axle-$200 Works dual rate shocks-$400 CPI pipes-$500 Cool head-$185 JD Performance A-arms-$575 Trailtech lights-$120 I'm sure there are alot of little odds and ends that I am forgetting, but since I didn't hang on to alot of the recipts, I'm just having to pull this off the top of my head. Anyhow, here's what that cash has got me so far.
  20. If I remember correctly, the camp sites behind the oasis are a little bit higher than the ones inside the park aren't they? Are the camp sites really that much better to justify the little extra cash, or is it just the fact that they can be reserved?
  21. I'll be more than happy to get along with anyone that's out there. I should be camped out in the south camp friday and saturday, and anyone that wants to is more then welcome to swing by and bring me a beer.

    tors box

The bad thing about looking for something like a used TORS box, is that you're gonna find that most people have tossed their's to the curb. I've got a buddy of mine that bought an '06 a couple of months ago, and I know he's gonna toss it if he hasn't already. If he still has it, I'll let you know.

    Clutch cover

I'm looking for a banshee clutch cover (entire cover, not just the insert). If anyone has one they want to sell, please let me know. Edit: Nevermind, I got one.
  24. If you can afford to go like $575, JD performance makes some really good a-arms.
  25. How much you normally getting for stock clutch covers, and do you happen to have one for sale?
