  5. in general section.Shakar's old bike got stolen.
  6. Two seperate questions for two fellas. Mike, the first builder You took your cheetah to. Did he actually know what to do with a cheetah as in , he already had...... And why is it that Mat knew immediately what to change. Also, what did may change. Because I garuntee mat didn't just charge you to pull the PV's...... Did mat raise the exhaust or reconfigure it.... If so I gather that there isn't much room to massage the powervalves them selves. That would mean that to get the valve wide open with the new shearer exhaust port, the valve is so cut up that it's nonsense to even have it in there to do anything for the bottom end any way. (Some one please correct me if I'm wrong) Windy, on your old cheetah, what jets were in you're powervalves? And how did you verify they were opening all the way? Were they ever locked open? Just curious. I have my own thoughts and theories on why the cheetah is typically junk but I also have a few thoughts on what can make them work and I think the 485cc and 535 should definitely be doable.
  7. Meh...... Alright I'll bite. My SECOND one worked......
  8. Shouldn't matter if It's wet. I see stockers coated in rust that keep on goin. Ditch the junk aftermarket. Buy OEM, and guard it with your life. Maybe beg Gary to rewind your cunty Ching Chong ebay one.
  9. Leak down again
  10. So I typed dat fo nuffin?
  11. Compression test basically tells you that the piston/rings are in fact capable of properly squeezing the air fuel mixture before the Big Bang. If the motor is weird and you wanna know that you didn't burn a cylinder down you check it real quick to be sure it's got life. So say a stockish bike with a shaved head normally kicks 150 and you know his cuz you check it since you maintain the bike..... So it runs weird at the dunes and gets hot. Maybe even seizes but let's go. You're not sure if it's toast. It starts but how do you know what damage was done? Throw the gauge on it and say maybe one side kicks 120 and the other is like 80. You would know you torched the rings. Hell, you could kick 150 and like 12, so you'd pretty much expect a piece of the piston to be gone. Maybe a hole burned through or hammered through by deto. You also hear guys use it to pick their fuel and gauge how much timing they can get away with. Often you get guys with an argument that you're not supposed to use the cranking compression and that you should use the calculated compression. There are more complex terms but I'm a fucking simpleton so I'll keep that way. To an extent that is a valid argument as there are lots of variables. The thing is, there are so many combos out there for banshees hat have already been done that if you're around them enough and know the mods of a certain set up, you know what it should commonly kick so in my opinion I think it can be used as a means of fuel selection and guesstimating if you can give a little bit of timing.
  12. Solder for squish test. Any time you swap head or domes, gaskets, piston style, etc.
  13. The gaskets with the VF4's are actually pretty decent. Compression test only shows an air leak in the head. These motors are simple, yet if one thing isn't flat or straight it creates weird issues when sealing up. Was the bike wanting to idle higher or slow to idle back down after revving?

  17. With the recent theft topic, I figured I'd put a post up about some of the baddest locks and chains you can get to lock your stuff up. https://www.kryptonitelock.com/Pages/ATVUTVLockup.aspx Saved my bike a few months ago even after the lock on the door was chopped with a grinder. Came home Saw the shed doors open and my nuts sank to my stomach. I looked in and there was the quad. They obviously spent time messing with the chain set up but were clueless as to what that had in their hands. We can't always be home to put a weapon in someone's mouth when the thieves want our Stuff. So lock it up. Good.....
  18. He does, but as long as Ray is paying him and putting his name on it who cares. Seems like ray always tried to distribute the local goods though. Even sold for Borrink. Wonder if he'll be on board when/if the new pipes from Tom get moving.
  19. Also, if it feels flat up top, spits & sputters(detonation), or backs plugs out, you have gone to far....
  20. Well, look around and find the range guys with similar set ups are running. Start on like 4* then read the plug. There will be a timing mark on the strap. Go up one degree at a time and check each time till the mark on the strap looks good. ONE DEGREE, at a time.....
  21. All that ^ stuff Oh, and your thumb ain't a compression tester. Just because it blew your thumb off doesn't mean a thing. I was gonna continue with some analgies with blow jobs and Hoover vacs but something tells me you might already get it.
  22. When my family first got in to this, some one actually took my brothers bike for a joy ride and left it against my dad's truck that night all muddy. We used steel plate to reinforce the back door they used and thought things were cool. The next night they broke in to my moms van to use the garage door opener while we were gone. Took the KX again. Cops found it the next morning in a gravel pit dumped over in mud. Now, all my shit gets kryptonite chain and locks fastened to concrete with red heads. Not wimpy fucking tap cons. I used to run cable locks through the frame rails then through two studs on the garage wall with steel plate lag bolted over the exposed side of the stud. Put a socket that's to big over the heads and strip them. This was only about 3 months ago. They thought they were home free using a little cordless angle grinder to get in. But it wouldn't touch that kryptonite chain. Those things are serious! I knew who I was, walked down the street to chat with the parents. Walking up to the house I see a 18v makita cordless grinder on the passenger floor board. Hmmm. His parents denied it and Made sure that I knew their little angel had nothing to do with it. So I happened to bump in to these kids at the corner store. Wouldn't you believe that even with 4 of them in the car a colt 1911 made all 4 apologize like bitches? Cameras and quality security! FTW !
