  1. ^ that's a smart idea. Our last big outing, we rented a Uhaul to get everything to Ogemaw. Then camped in side it.
  2. The swap is easier on the steel one due to ease of re fabbing on it. Plus they are cheaper. I have no idea what the differences in handling are on the two frames though.
  3. RRL touched on a good point. A good steering stabilizer should work with out putting much if any noticeable resistance on the bars. It should work correctly just before the bars become any tighter feeling. If your Alba won't make any difference at all till almost maxed, I'd send it to them to rebuild to see if they find something weird. If it comes back and feels the same, then you'll know that it's junk and you need to spend more dinero on something that will actually meet your expectations. My peps is one of the basic stick adjustable units and it works great on 2-3 for TT stuff and 3-4 for trails.
  4. If you're mechanical, you should be able to get it close by eye. But syncing with a vacume gauge, or fast tool is the most accurate. Otherwise you can check things with feeler gauges to see if slide height is even and that they are initiating the stroke evenly. Also make sure they are actually opening to WOT. You would be surprised how many guys put big carbs on and ask why it's not performing they way they expected. Come to find out they aren't even opening past the needle.
  5. My gut tells me the shop will just have a pro Eyeball it......
  6. How?! It'll be on it's side by half track!
  7. Depends on what your definition of trails. Are we talking gravel pits, tight twisty stuff in woods, open fields, or a mix of all that? Race gas 4mil w/ porting, trans, clutch, SLP or DMC pipes, etc. Axle, A arms, shocks, rebuilt rear shock, stabilizer, tires(possibly wheels)
  8. ^ betting 3k. Either way it's nice as hell, and if I had money to blow, I would prefer to buy bikes like this.
  9. At that price, that's a steal. Granted it's in decent condition. A guy at the local shop has two. But like zilla said, they are pricey to work on. Many fellas have found that using certain parts from 250R's makes things a little easier and obtainable.
  10. Hahahahaha, too soon? Maybe.... Fuck it!
  11. ^ why waste time when other people would just rather build bigger motors in hopes that it will make up for the rest of the set up. You going from that 443 cub to that DMX is a perfect example of how a well seasoned and dialed little set up can compete with the big guns
  12. On that note: when do we see something new out of you for the servals and cubs?
  13. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk - now Free
  14. ^ why? Those to do not work on a banshee. Good reeds, nice head, ASV clutch lever and fresh cable, brake and shifter levers as well as handle bars that fit your linebacker stature more comfortably, tires, used shocks or A arms, rear axle.
  15. You've heard it's over rated, why get one? Are you hoping to beat the statistics and get the one off ebay that actually works? Why spend good money on a gimmicky part? You can probably do a few other things to it that you'd be happier with .
  16. Immaculate! Good find. Hope you take care of it as well as the last owner. It could use black hipers, good inframes in black and some good pod filters with black outerwears would be a nice start!
  17. Delete this thread. Both sides quit chest thumping and there was a severe E hug session. End of story. Fairy tale ending and all.
  18. They are designed to utilize the pipes...
  19. Tuner..... The right tune/set up makes any bike idiot proof. The first and only 3.7 I've ever made was on a bike I've never ride. But the owner had it so dialed all I had to do was dump the clutch, get a decent(not good) reaction time, and give it a gear when it needed one. I don't spend much time drag racing so I'm average on the light, and that bike did all the work.
  20. Word? I would've thought dat it had Neva Been Done Befo!
  21. Perfect. Sorting someone else's mess ain't for everybody. Some folks would rather ride then wrench. A 4 poke will certainly help in that department. Especially that honda. At least till it comes apart and cost 3k to go through.
  22. That's no good. You can see where they have been sucking in trash.
