  1. You could either cut the cable if you really want to, unless the lever is seized on and locking the wheels. If you do take the wheel and drums off, it's pretty simple to remove all e-brake hardware.
  2. haha damnit, I should have taken a video when i only had the downpipe on...holy hell was the whistle loud! They still whistle some, but I have full exhaust on it. I'll try to get some video if the weather clears up this weekend
  3. Yeah I got this BHT3B for real cheap, so I couldn't pass it up! And for my trucks use twins is better than a large single anyways. So far it is running good, A LOT quieter in the cab, but I also put the exhaust back to stock location...just 5" all the way back. I haven't had much time to fiddle with my secondary's wastegate though, weather has been too crummy and I've been helping a friend get their planter ready to go for the season. I can make retarded amounts of boost with the fueling I have, but I don't need 100+ pounds It does run a lot smoother I think though with the twins, and it pulls a lot stronger with less boost compared to my smaller single. So for EGT's are down a good amount but then again I haven't had the chance to floor it, etc since I'm still adjusting the wastegate. I also need to upgrade my stock boots, I already had one blow off on me
  4. One cold pipe done! Dropped off my other pipe and exhaust downpipe to the same friend that welded this one. So should have it drive-able tonight, do some testing, check for leaks, etc, etc. Hoping to get some more air line for my gauges, so hopefully I'll have those installed this weekend as well so that I can see my readings of each turbo and adjust my wastegate I'm not too concerned about looks to be honest, as long as it functions that's all I care about!
  5. I'm probably going to go back and build a bracket once I have all the plumbing done. That way if need be I can at least get back and forth from work!
  6. haha no shit eh! Well I got my one cold pipe fabed up tonight, friend of mine is going to weld it tomorrow. After I started it up to check for oil leaks, turns out one of my coolant lines for my tranny heat exchanges has a pin hole leak in it...so now I have to R&R that pipe, lol. Won't be too bad, I have a spare truck! So really get the coolant line done, jig up and figure out my cold pipe for the air-to-air, fiddle around a bit with my air filter then it'll be good to at least drive. I still have to get more air line for my boost gauges and what not, then weld up some bungs on my cold piping, but that can come later. Sooo it'll be drive able by at least sunday, cause I need it for work monday, lol.
  7. Triples actually spool faster than twins. They use 2 same size chargers (small guys) then one larger one. Fella here in Ontario us building a set as well, will be neat once they are done! Looks like your friend did a well job though Tyler, good fabing!! I'm just lucky to get mine thrown together and it works Here are a few pictures after today.
  8. Slowly coming together...
  9. I actually got rid of the stack man! I was getting tired of the drone, etc in the cab all the time, lol. I have it dumping behind the rear axle right now, however once the twins go on it'll be 5" straight back to stock location with a 6" tip probably.
  10. I have more parts, just no pictures, lol. I also have my new gauge pod and boost gauges, so will have 2 gauges for boost and one boost gauge for drive pressure. I'm hoping to maybe get it started next tuesday or wednesday since I have the week off..so we will see!
  11. Hmm, XM prices is probably going to be around $150 for a year, with every station (just going on rough cost). Depends though, if there aren't many stations that you like on XM, then it might not be worth it to you. I have Sirius in my truck, just put it in back in the beginning of fall. I still listen to local stations every now and then, but for long trips or out of range I really enjoy it.
  12. Thanks for your experience and thoughts As you say, I'm going to try it out with my internal gate on the 62 and see how that goes. With my current injectors (200's), TST Comp and Smarty (and supporting mods) I have way to much fuel for the little 62 by itself. I know there will be more lag, but heck as of right now my lag isn't bad at all unless I shift in OD and lug it on purpose. And as you say, I'm going to try to adjust my boost levels so that they peak out at their own psi...I'll just have the blow off valves in case for some reason it get's all crazy on me I know the BHT3B's are out dated compared to the S400 series...but hell what's $100 for brand new! I'm sure I'll have more than enough air once I get them running right. I'm also going to get two more boost gauges, one for each turbo and one for drive pressure. That way I can actually "tune" them instead of throwing them on and saying their good to go. Hopefully this helps out my EGT's and gives me the power increase/air I need. As of right now, if I put the TST Comp on 3 I can get over 1300 EGT's on a WOT run. I can easily bury my pyro gauge (1600) if I run anything higher on the Comp and for a certain distance. I got a few goodies in from Vulcan Performance this week, ordered some other stuff from Source Automotive that should be in shortly. Next month I'll get some more goodies (hopefully), then by the end of winter/spring I should hopefully have these things running
  13. It is a 26 housing, so just what I need I haven't actually taken the housings off to measure the wheels, but I believe it is a 76/86...or 75/86...somewhere around there Current charger is 62/71/14, I know quite a few people say the 71 wheel is kinda crummy with twins...but no way am I going to throw another say $600+ when I can try this out for relatively cheap. I can handle a little bit more lag than what I have now, I've gotten so used to driving around the lag that I don't even notice it. Tunnel Ram helped out a bit too actually, now just need a homemade intake horn as well. To be honest I'm not sure if I should run external gates or not. I was going to see if I can tweak the wastegate I have on the 62 enough so that it works out alright for the set up. I know if people run an HX35 / HT3B set they usually open up the HX wastegate. I'm assuming the wastegate in my current turbo is the same if not larger than a ported HX35 one. I dunno though, you have any opinions? This is going to be my first twin set I also have a couple blow off valves coming as well so I can limit it down. Really don't need anymore psi than what I have now...I just need the volume!
  14. Well I'm not around too much anymore. Work is busy, working weird shifts. And I've also been funding my current project..my truck. Few months ago I threw in some 200 injectors, and with the turbo I currently have that is way too much fuel with my programmer and fueling box on kill. Long story short I'm going to be doing twins on the truck in the winter/spring. I picked up a BHT3B for $100, brand new never been ran. I'm starting to order the plumbing, boots, etc, etc and going to build my own kit. I'll be using my current charger as the small, so we will see how lag/surging ends up. This way once I get my twins, I can get another module and more engine goodies I also took my stack off the other weekend, was getting tired of the noise. And when I go twins the exhaust will be 5", exit behind the axle.
  15. What did you end up getting?
  16. Your SS is a clean, bad ass looking truck. Love the black on black We'll see how it treats you in the winter (if you are driving it in the snow)
  17. Cummins^^^^ As someone mentioned earlier, buy something that you have looked over, it mechanically seems good when you look at it, it's been taken care of, etc. We could all sit here all month telling stories about trucks falling apart, blowing up, etc, etc. If you find a fairly clean decent truck for a good price, then look into it more and maybe buy it. Every truck has it's pro's and con's, just some are lemons and some have well known problems. For starters, are you looking at getting a Gas or Diesel Pick Up? Are you going to tow, or is it just your daily driver? You can tell what my decision is, always have had good luck with Cummins. Only real shitty thing is 2nd gen Dodge bodies rust like no tomorrow if not taken care of.
  18. Right on, looks like a nice ride. Do you have any pics of the interior?
  19. Ah dangit, If you are looking for just a OEM pack, maybe get a hold of the wreckers?
  20. Looks pretty snazzy! What engine is in it?
  21. Do you have a spring shop near by that could make one, or a pack up for you? If you were closer to me I'd tell you to come by my work, I'd make one up for ya Can Napa not get anything for you? If not, do you have any Traction Stores near by?
  22. Nice looking rig Kiel! Friend of mine bought an 08 (I think) GMC 1500, interiors are pretty snazzy in them.
  23. Exactly, there are always going to be failures and problems with the Big 3. Just depends that if you go with a certain engine, you will probably have more problems than the other. Same with the trannies once you start moding the engines. As far as the 7.3's go, you can make them quick just takes a lot of work to do it. I just watched an old 7.3 at the Drag's in Ohio do pretty damn well, he was quick But as I've been saying, all we know this fella could be wanting to keep his engine stock, or just add a bit of performance for fuel mileage. If mod factors come into play, it's a completely different ball game.
  24. Again, you should post up what your plans are for the truck. If you are planing on keeping the engine stock, then really any of the big three should do you fine. However as everyone has mentioned the Powerstroke 6.0 are hit and miss, and when you do get a miss it will leave you stranded and/or lots of money spent to repair. The 6.4 Engines aren't as bad problem wise, but they still have their problems. Really if you go with any engine/truck combo you will have pros and cons, IMO. The older automatics used behind the Cummins are pretty crummy if not built up. However if you don't mind spending the money, a built up automatic goes a LONG way. Fords Torque-Shift transmissions are a great tranny, granted they are only a 5 speed compared to the 6 speed Allison. But just like any other transmission, neither the Torque-Shift nor the Allison are invincible to problems once you start moding the engine.
