  1. I am running 15-42 on my 421 cub its in a custom chassis that is 9 out the front and has a 10 over swingarm..... I am running 14 paddle extreams though.... what are your 60 ft times? does your bike spin real bad?? I think ya need more tire.....
  2. a 521cc triple... I wonder what kind of torque numbers it will make? will you be able to dyno it after you get it running?
  3. build an 18mm dm... that should do it for ya...
  4. take the bolt out that holds down the clutch engagement lever.... (the one that the clutch cable hooks to under the left carb...) grab the lever and pull up on it... if it wont come out the rd is welded... if it will look at the bottom of it and see if its discolored or anything..... sometimes you can stick something down the hole that, that lever goes into and push the rod and ball out... if not I am affraid you have to split the cases.....
  5. whats wrong with the stock one on your bike? you can install new bearings and seals into your stocker for cheaper than that....

  7. should run good... throw some v force2 or 3 reeds on it and a timing plate and it will run real good!
  8. dude timing plates are 35 bucks on ebay..... they are marked and you can go pasted +4 if you mod your bike more in the future.... http://www.rickystator.com/pages/Yamaha_Ba...ming_plate.html its not worth the time and effort to carve out a stock plate when a new one is so cheap... just my 2 cents though.... but if you must grind the stocker, you have to make it so the plate can rotate clockwise.... 1mm of movement is equal to 1 degree of timing advance.....
  9. lol.... goin good tim, we have the 4 mill in the new chassis right now, it runs 4.0s all day.... just cant seem to get it to get in the 3's..... Just picked up my new motor the other day, I am dyin to get it together and in the chassis.... Pics to come soon dont worry...

  12. if its falling flat on top it sounds like it is lean... have you done a plug chop on it to check your jetting? http://www.dfn.com/benkaren/plugchop.html what fuel are you running? have you checked your compression? is the motor ported?
  13. did you check the cushions in the clutch basket? grab the basket infront of the gear and try and turn it back and forth... if the basket turns and the gear does not... then the cushions are shot... I had a bike I could not find a knock noise and thats what it ended up being.... as far as the tranny goes, the shift star mod, shaft mod, and easy shift spring help.... but it still does not make it great... I have heard some people cutting every other "dog" off the tranny gears to help it shift better but I have never rode a bike with said mod....

  15. first... get a set of 39mm pwks..... the 35s are holding the motor back... second, buy a set of shearers they rev out farther than the cpis do... I was running 160 mains 50 pilots and cel needles in my 39 pwks when it was on race gas... this was at 900ft above sea level.... Also, cubs love timing.....

  19. you need to measure from the top of the cylinder where the head mounts.... down to the top of the exhaust port... measure how wide the exhaust port is.... then measure down from the top of the cylinder to the top of the trans for ports... the ones on the sides (between the intake ports and the exhaust port..) also if ya could measure from the top of the cylinder down to the bottom of the exhaust port and to the bottom of the transfer ports...

  21. with my fast 4 mill cub I have had the best luck with a 10 over arm....
