  1. I figure we're in the age of the 4-strokes when it comes to new quads.I figure yamaha knew the 2 strokes were going to be phased out due to emission laws.At first I thought them doing away with the 2 strokes and trying to replace it with the 450's sucked, but once you think about it they could have just stopped building sport quads. Then you'd be trying to decide which much slower quad you wanted.I think the 450's were a good idea. That said.I'm still a big fan of the banshee. The parts availability is enormous. You can practically build one from scratch. There should be parts available for a very long time.I think the future of the used banshees is very safe.
  2. I bought both from Jeff. It's the best I've tried so far. The clutchs he sells can handle quite a bit of horsepower just by themselves. I prefer using both. The lock up allows you to use light weight springs with the clutchs. It's also a little insurance against the clutchs slipping. With the lock up,you'll need a modified side cover to clear it.It has weights on the end of it that applies pressure to the clutchs to keep them from slipping. After using both, you'll hate having to go back to a regular clutch setup with heavy duty springs. They're way too stiff.Just my 2 cents.
  3. Already bought one but thanks for the reply.
  4. Anyone have a used 18 tooth front sprocket for a banshee? Please no junk. I'm wanting to get my 350 out to the asphault track.Last year it almost got into the 7's.I know it should run mid 7's really easy this year. But I need an 18 to keep from toping out way before the finishline.
  5. Anyone have a used 18 tooth front sprocket for a banshee?Please no junk.Thanks.
  6. It is possible.Porting will make a huge difference.I'm sick of hearing about banshees that can do over a 100mph.Alot of them can but come on.It takes more than just pipes.Keep in mind too.Even if you can hit 90,who cares if it takes you forever to get there. I had some guys ask me how fast mine should go.I told them around 90-95.They was shocked. They told me about this banshee that could do 112.Maybe he could, but I beat I'd smoke him in the 1/8th no problem.Just my opinion. Get a good port job, good set of pipes(CPI/shearer),larger carbs, different head, and weld up the crank and that banshee will be quite a hand full. My friend Michael has a dune ported(F.A.S.T.).Even with stock carbs, that banshee is extremely strong.I'm impressed. He runs holeshots.Right now his gearing is 13/41.We know he should gear up to either 14/41 or 15/41.With the 13/41,it spins something fierce on asphault with his' holeshots in 1st and 2nd.In 3rd,it will lay down about a 10 ft. black mark.Remember, that's with stock carbs.Jeff is awesome on his' porting.
  7. The warriors should be very easy to beat and once you pipe the banshee you should be throwing alot of dirt/sand at the 400EX pretty easily also. This is going to be a big change from a blaster to a banshee. It may take you a while to get use to it.It will be worth it.
  8. What gearing,jetting,etc... do you have? I'm not a big fan of FMF.They are better than stock but what isn't.LOL! For a stock port or even ported banshees,I've had good luck with T-5's. For a ported banshee,CPI pipes are really good and shearers are awesome.
  9. Yeah, they would be better. The paddles were doing all they could though. If you'll look in the picture, you'll see where they were taking off from.Well,I was told that my banshee was throwing dirt across the road into those peoples yard.LOL!
  10. He's using 13/41.He takes off in second.I'm thinking he could move up to a 14/41.He's spinning off the line pretty good but hooks up and beats them to the finishline.Better have a fast banshee because the 450's are running really good.
  11. Their not real heavy although I've never weighed them.
  12. Might not be the problem but have you check the plug gap on both spark plugs?
  13. Here's Michael with "MY"LOL! pro-wedges.He would just pull away from all the 4-strokes.There is some pretty fast 450's out there though.
  14. I've got a set if I can ever get them away from Michael.LOL!He was tearing the 450's up yesterday.
  15. I have a problem with my banshee spinning the tires like crazy.I was at a guys field today. They have a 300ft track. There's no grass on it,and they watered it down to help with the dust.It ruts down about 3 inches and then it's hard packed. The paddle tires were useless.Had them still on from yesterday's ride.My friend was using my pro wedges. He beat everybody. His should be making around 55-60 hp.Mine should be around 90.I'm thinking maybe the pro wedges and gear it really high.Any suggestions?
  16. My wife is a stay-at-home mom.I work in a factory.I make decent money.Money gets pretty tight sometimes. We by no means have the best vehicles. You just have to decide how important her staying at home is.We're going to have one more kid and once they both get in school and then she's going back to work. Extra money? What's that?
  17. Post a picture of the banshee. 300 ft. is a short track.Weight will make a big difference.Get it as light as ya can.Tires and gearing is very important.I'm guessing you still have stock suspension, transmission, and on gas.If so,I'd say that time is pretty good.
  18. I'll be posting a few pictures in the image section.
  19. I thought you was talking about running drag pipes. If you take off the silencer and the stinger pipe you might be blowing exhaust all over your motor and plastic. Not sure then about the jetting.Make sure to check the plug.
  20. I hope mine runs good. I seem to remember that your's wasn't a slow-poke.I thought it run good.
  21. That's great. Maybe I can run a little closer to ya than last time.Hehe! LOL!
  22. Is there an echo in here?LOL!
  23. We'll only be there saturday.
  24. If you're just running gas it would probably be better to set the timing at + 4.I run my alcohol bike at +8.I don't think the crank bearing would have anything to do with your problem.Take you filters off and see if one of your carb. slides is sticking.
  25. No big deal.Just louder.
