  1. Dinner, try to let us all know when you come out to play... I know Shayne, JT and I would all like to buy you a "Molson" for the sigs, and just meet you to hang out and BS. Need to get you out on the ice to ride, too...probably a good few weekends left....as well. I probably live 20 to 30 minutes from the Windsor/Detroit border, and Anchor Bay (Lake st. Clair) is 20 minutes or so from me... You'd have a good time for sho....
  2. No offese, JMD...but power to weight of a quad vs. a car are worlds apart...at this level. I'm not saying this 4 stroke is the shit, but a 250 lb banshee with 120HP (very easy to do) has nearly a 2:1 power ratio...takes a lot more than that for a car. Where a quad/atv fall short is gearing. Enough to pull the whole track and not run out....but a motor to turn that big of a gear... That being said, I think he's full of it...go run him.
  3. Unless you buy Lectrons setup for alky, you're drilling on the Keihins or Mikunis. The difference is you can replace the dump tube in the Miks, not the Keihins. It is all personal preference, price and availability... I agree, 35's would be a good choice for your setup... I ran them on my 4mil cub on race fuel and it ripped pretty good.
  4. They have been around forever... I had an 85 LT250 Quadracer in the early 90's, it had mossbarger... The old school case reed induction vs. the intake blocks most use now....
  5. Hot Rods are the connecting rods, owned by wiseco, used in their cranks.
  6. Can you tell us what you had to change from running gas to E85..how long you've been running it, anything special (purging, etc.) any other problems...etc? I pay about 7 a gallon for methanol (VP Fuels M1), can get it for quite a bit cheaper from a pump or buying in bulk in a drum, but if the same performance can be found with E85 vs. Methanol, I'd love to be able to pull up to a pump like race fuel....
  7. What is a 5 shot of nos? 5 HP? I think I can fart that much....if not, a healthy shit would take care of that... 120MPH in the 1/4..huh? Unless he has a lot more mods or a different secret engine, that just isn't going to happen. It's all about gearing, tire size....and the power to push it. You could gear a banshee to do 150 MPH....good luck building a motor to do it... I call bull, call him out on it...put his money where his mouth is. He'll probably give you a good race for 30 to 50 feet...4 strokes come out of the hole hard. Should be a walk in the park after. Get a time slip from him to prove it.....
  8. Oh nothing, other than that fact I have stock in Millenium and you have them on speed dial...LOL...
  9. I think it will take more heat to activate powder coat than it will to dry paint... The small heat lamps would take a LONG time to do a frame... That heater is 150 bucks. I don't know how much powder coat costs for a frame, I assume 50 bucks. You could have your frame done yourself professionally for 150 to 250 bucks...is it worth it? Paint it.
  10. Waiting on you... I can meet up with JT...should you choose that route...
  11. The only thing you might do is not get the shift forks on their collars right, and even that's not too easy to mess up... JT's done his 4 mil MORE than enough times to hook it up for you...(Just put a disclamer in the box he can't let his brother ride it for "testing purposes...."...Chris is an animal...) I can get the tranny in JT's hands just as easily too....
  12. I've had a few people on PS state you break off an ear, and they'll replace it. If I'm not mistaken, Evan said the same... I can't say for the GYTR...they might get you with "it's sold by Yamie for Hinson" disclaimer or something like that.... I like the look of the Barnett. However...it's rivet holding the stainless ears on...I don't want to think about what would happen if one of those were to go astray in a motor....
  13. I would get a hinson if they were more price competitive... the good thing about a hinson is...you groove up the basket a little, just break an ear off...they'll send you another one...
  14. That's good to know, Brad... If you get a chance to test it on your 10 mil, let us know....
  15. Yeah right, more like a little water in his crown bottle...LOL.
  16. A bit nerdy? That's kinda like saying Michael Jackson has a fondness for young boys... Talk about your understatements.... LOL... Seriously... I run 300 feet 95% of the time on alky, heat isn't an issue... Correction, the kind of heat that could be affected by Chrome won't be an issue for me.... If I had a trail or duner bike, I'd get anodized or bare. Not for the heat aspect, but for the abuse/dirt/mud aspect.... If I didn't personally know someone that has and uses one, Chrome...I may have passed. But I got a good deal, damn near hand delivered...and I like the less Orings!
  17. I'm going on my third year with the Magnum from Jeff @ FAST. A year on my 4 mil cub on gas, last year with my 10 mil on alky, hundreds of passes on it and it still looks great. When I bought my 4 mil cub in beginning of 06, I bought all new OEM hub and pressure plate, Magnum basket...and it all still works just fine... After three years of abuse, I'm going to retire the FAST clutch I have... Not because it doesn't still work, because it's a little worn and has earned the right to retire.... I'll be buying another FAST clutch very soon....
  18. Pull spark plugs. See if they look white/yellow from burning antifreeze. Your oil may look milky white if there's coolant in it as well.
  19. Where is it leaking from? Sounds like you got some problems, head gasket probably....
  20. Well...that's been fixed. I have the Triple plate chome head, domes slapped in perfectly...no fitment issues whatsoever... I actually fired the bike up today for the first time in a few weeks just to purge it...no problems. Will find out next weekend on the ice...but I don't foresee any problems.
  21. You ain't lying... While there is no way I could setup my bike to run effectively there, I'd love to come out and watch a race. Beer in the stands allowed??? JT..we might have to go check it out and make a night of it!!!
  22. Go WAY fat, work down. Start with a 190 main and 55 pilot... Not sure on the needle. CEL was my favorite, but again...that was twin 35s on a 4 mil cub. The member here with good experience is Snopczynski. In fact...he did a write up on 1 into 2 vs. dual carbs...pretty good stuff. here ya go... http://www.bansheehq.com/forums/index.php?...c=89655&hl=
  23. Sounds like it fell out of the fubar tree and hit every branch on the way down....LOL...
  24. LOL...I was withholding any comments like that because I haven't seen it.... Too funny... Well...he could start with a blinged out head...LOL. You'll love it Shayne. I wrote up a little on PS. Don't know if you're going to have the same problem or not. The front studs as you know are longer than the other 8. I had acorn nuts I was already using for my stocker. The front two would not thread down, ran out of thread... I used two of mine on the front. You will end up with two extra orings, depending on if the domes you have are cut for Orings by the spark plug, some are...some aren't. My old cool head domes aren't. The trickiest part is the water neck ORing. It zigzags around...but a little grease or RTV will help it stick, and 4 bolts to hold it on, instead of two. Those bolts holding it on are kinda soft, I might replace mine with hex head shouldered bolts, since I'm running my ground straps off them... I'll throw up a pic or two later....
  25. I was thinking the same thing, lean on bottom and top...those carbs need bigger jets when compared to a twin set of counterparts.... snopcyznski on here is real good with the 2 in 1s....maybe he'll chime in.
