  1. where can i go to get one. do you have a link or anything to help?
  2. i had the same problem with my flywheel rusting. what i did was bead blasted the flywheel at my work which cleaned it up real nice. next i sprayed a rust inhibitor on it which gave it a light waxy coating. then just sanded the pickups on it and its fine. i rode in the snow 3 or 4 times and when i took the cover off last weekend, the flywheel looks the same as the day i bead blasted it
  3. i have the thermo mod on mine. the problem i have is the vibrations of the motor made the needle move out of alignment. it read 58 degrees when i stuck it in the snow. maybe i just need to find a better quality thermometer. i was using a accu-rite i think
  4. .020 is what i have mine set at. works just fine that way
  5. i use all yamalube lubricants. i know it may be expensive, but its made specifically for yamaha engines. i don't see any problem in spending the extra few dollars to keep my engine protected the way it was designed.
  6. thanks guys. helped out a lot. not to mention saving me some $$$
  7. how do you hook up the electrical wiring to the shee. what do you mean by cup?
  8. try reversing your spark plug wires. you said the left side cyl has trouble firing. by reversing the wires, try running it again and side if the troubled cyl switches to the right side. if so than its probly a bad coil.
  9. i am looking at buying new rear tires for my shee. im interested in the holeshot hd's. anyone have any feedback on whether they are good tires or not?
  10. what is the normal operating temperature of a shee. i have many mods on mine and im thinking of getting an infrared thermometer. i don't know if it would be worth buying so i figured i see what you guys think
  11. i do have the stock airbox but i do have the lid off to provide more airflow. im just not sure how much air the gyt-r filter allows to pass through
  12. im running a factory team yamaha gyt-r filter on my shee. i just bought the bike a few months ago and havent ridden it much. its a two stage foam filter which i know is good for protection. my question is, is it good for added air flow cuz i have toomey pipes, porting, and v-force reeds. i wanna feed it as much air as possible while staying with foam.
  13. check the choke jet in the bottom of the left side carbs float bowl. it is located in the bowl where the straight brass tube enters. try blowing through it to check if its plugged. i had this problem and without the choke jet working, its a pain to start. it basically makes your choke useless if its plugged. hope this helps
  14. i just ordered a chain and sprocket set the other day. i got a 15/41 ratio, but the thing is, the chain that came with it is a 104 link. my question is, is the 104 link gonna be long enough? 104 is stock length and the front sprocket is 1 tooth up. i don't know if i will have the reach. please help
  15. im looking to buy new rear tires for my shee. i wanna go with the new holeshot hd's. anyone know where i can find the best deal for them. ebay didn't have any posted
  16. thats what im saying. mine pulls great but im always shifting. i wanna space out the gears a little more without hurting it in the trails. thats what made me think about going with a 15 front
  17. i have a lot done to my motor including porting. i know i have enough power. just wanted to space out my shifting.
  18. i just bought a new chain and sprocket set. my old set up that came with the bike was 13/41. i now have a 15/41 ratio. my question is will i notice a huge difference in performance. i felt that i was shifting way too often with 13. i do trail/mx riding
  19. im a machinist too! i myself milled my stock head .030 and its fine. just bought a stock head gasket and everything clears just fine. i suggest you do the same and when you put it all back together, just kick the kickstarter real slow. if there is a clearance issue, the kickstarter would get stuck from the piston. i also have a adjustable timing plate on my shee and i have no problem at all with overheating. hope this helps
  20. i was thinking about cutting the front plastics on my shee, but was sure if i would end up liking it. i live in ohio where we get a lot of snow in the winter and rain in the spring. if i cut the front plastics, am i gonna get pelted with snow or mud?
  21. i took the float bowl off the choked carb and tried blowing in the choke jet. at first it felt plugged but the second time i blew in it, it passed air through it. maybe my choke jet was plugged and was giving enough gas to the motor.
  22. check your air filter. i had k&n filters that were plugged up and didn't feed enough air to the carbs. made it run on one cylinder, smoked really bad and would not rev out. just bogged horribly when i rapped the throttle. sounds pretty similar to your symptoms. maybe try revving it with the air filter off and see if it runs better. excesive smoking from the pipes is a sign that the engine is not getting enough air
  23. where in the choke side carb is the starter jet located
  24. never tried that. how do i perform leak down test
  25. you can just disconnect the tors system at the harnesses. if still no spark, you might wanna use a multimeter and start testing components to make sure they still carry a current
