  2. I've tried quite a few different brands of deck's, Pioneer, JVC, Clarion, Kenwood, Panasonic, and Alpine.... Alpine is hands down the best deck I've ever owned...and I wont hesitate to buy another one again...they may not be the coolest looking, but the work and dont break!
  3. yet those same banshee's should beware of a piped and airbox lid less 450...the 450's go pretty damn good.
  4. yea too bad its powered by a DODGE CUMMINS engine!
  5. if they're in your house or garage, you can shoot them. Obviously if they're running down your driveway like the school bully is after them, you cant shoot them in the back. Not that I'd actually do it, but it would probably make most thieves poop their pants.
  6. I want to copy you guys a post from Planetsand, put up by someone who sells insurance for a living... "Here is a tip from the insurance guy. Although you may think your custom quad is insured because you are paying a premium and you have a policy, you will not be happy with the settlement you will receive come claim time. Unless your policy is insuring the qaud for a stated agreed price, then the claim will be settled on a actual cash value basis. That means if your custom quad is a 1987 Banshee that is all done up with over $20000 in mods, you will get what a 1987 stock Banshee is worth, about $1000 if you are lucky. No matter what year your quad is you will only get ACV on the year of a stock vehicle. NONE of the custom mods will be covered because first you probably didn't tell the insurance company you had them and if you did they would cancel the policy because you now have a machine modified to go faster then it was intended which is specifically exluded on almost all standard vehicle insurance policies. You can find companies that will insure the quad for its actual value but the premium for such a policy would be in the neighborhood of $2500 a year. Because of this you are probably better off self insuring it because is four years your custom quad will pretty much be paid for by the premiums. Once you make your first modification to a quad (ie adding pipes or even just removing the airbox cover) you are making the quad unqualified for a policy because of the no modification rule. You may still be able to make a claim and get some money, but if the insurance company finds out you modified the vehicle and you didn't tell them, they will deny the claim saying they were misinformed and you will get zero! I sell insureance for a living and beleive me I have checked EVERYWHERE and when it comes to any form of modified quad, you might as well self insure because even if you do get a policy, you won't be happy come claim time and that is if they even pay the claim. If any agent is telling you differently, then you had better ask for a copy of the policy and see how claims are settled before you buy it. I would be glad to review ANY policy for anyone to show them the wording of the contract. With all of my searching, there is no policy that is affordable that covers what you want covered." that being said, heres my choice HOME DEFENSE!!
  7. http://www.packing.org ....big thumbs up from me!
  8. I haven't heard of any tranny problems with YFZ's...not like the Raptors have had anyways. Some are a lil sticky due to a burr on the shift drum, but it wears off and everything is fine.
  9. having that 1 reed not seal the best *might* make it a bit hard to start, but I wouldn't worry about it if it isn't.
  10. here's my slant. stock banshee wins in a drag race R's handle a TON better...the front ends on the Banshee's (to me anyways) feel too far forward you can tell the front frame rails are as wide as Michael Moore's mouth. There's a reason the R dominated MX for so long! still love the Banshee tho..now one of those outlaw frames for a Banshee with R geo..that would be fun.
  11. finish a project??? are they ever done??!!! lol. I love my 450...its a badass trail/dune bike. I'll just say that my 250R projects are always evolving...I have something new in store for next year.
  12. I left you a reply in the 927 topic regarding this.
  13. teamriot: I run Klotz Supertechniplate in my alcohol engines...it works great...leaves a film of oil over EVERYTHING. I believe its Klotz R or something similar thats the full synthetic. I ran it in my gas motor with fantastic results. For anything other than fast trail blasting and drag racing, I still dont recommend castor oil..its just too hard to keep the RPM's high enough to keep the engine clean..
  14. lol....give Dan at Patriot or Jeremy and SandTrix a shout..they'll both do you well. http://www.patriotracing.net http://www.sand-trix.com
  15. do it yourself! 250R's are a peice of cake to rebuild. Make sure you check the lower rod bearing for side to side and up and down play when you have it apart. There is a spec for side to side between the thrust washers and rod. Have a good quality bore job done (need piston first to do so), and put it together using ONLY OEM HONDA gaskets. other gaskets are junk and do not work as well, only use OEM Honda! Servicehonda.com can get you a complete upper and lower gasket kit for $35 so it doesn't pay to skimp here.
  16. ATF Type F is what you want to run to avoid clutch slippage. That being said, Barnett clutches are crap. If a new clutch doesn't help (it should), you might want to check for an air leak in your motor by leakdown testing it.
  17. agreed..for gasoline applications a synthetic lubricant is FAR superior to castor. Castor works great with alcohol.....
  18. been running it in my 250Rs about as long as Walt has in his Banshee. 0 problems and in my bikes at least, there is no performance difference compared to race gas. The extra money in my pocket is nice too.
  19. castor oil burns too dirty in gas bikes. I only run castor with alcohol. For gas your best bet is a good synthetic oil.
  20. when you go to save the file after cropping it, use the dragdown box and select .jpg instead of .psd
  21. why? do you have any scientific or personal proof against it? Most people wont even try it, or if they do they don't bother rejetting so they can say it runs too hot bla bla bla.
  22. Charlie Ohton did dyno tests and not only did Av Gas perform better in a 'borderline' race gas shee, it also ran cooler!
  23. they must have merged with TeamGoons.com and are good buddies with Absolute.
