I went with a new brake pads, stainless brake lines, and some Motul fluid. It made a huge difference. A streetbike master cylinder would do more to get a one finger stoppie. Dual piston caliper will be the ultimate mod. I know that Duncan does a two caliper mod for PDV. Stops real well, they just don't sell to the public.

If you are rich, then buy all new stuff. I'd recommend Elka/Roll. Otherwise, you would probably be better off having what you got rebuilt, and updated. For the price, you'll get almost as much f a difference.

I was kinda hoping for an answer from the guy building the shocks that they are testing. But I will read u pon the Elka's. Personally I have always run MX shocks in the dunes and been really happy with them.

What's a dune shock? As opposed to a MX shock or a drag shock.

What do the YFZ spindles do to the Banshee's front geometry? Sure they fit, but those are two completely different suspension arcs? Has anyone set this up and checked the arc of travel to make sure there is no binding, excessive bump steer, or caster/camber changes?

I'm not here to bash anyone. If you ask my opinion I will give it. To answer the point of this thread, and get thing back on topic, Just replace your ball joints. The heims of the right size to fit your arms will not be strong enough. And for final reference, I have an old set of Fireball arms when they still had balljoints. One of their first 200 sets of Banshee arms. They had poor geometry, poor balljoints, and when I tried to replace them, Fireball was nowhere to be found to get new ones. They resurfaced about a year later.

Yes, just cause you designed it, paid for it, and invested your blood sweat and tears, keeps no one from running to the patent office and patenting the design first. 85 huh? There were no atv suspensions in 85 since there were no atv's yet. The LT250R was the first and it came out in 85. I give my opinion on Fireball because I think that people should avoid the crap they build. They have a mediocre design. They use inferior parts. Their customer service when I bought mine was nonexistant. They moved and never would return calls to my dealer. I had to figure out where they moved to, and by then was so fed up, I replaced the ball joints myself. All I wanted to know was what the balljoints were from so I could replace them. The only reason they are still on the bike is I am not sure if I want to sell the arms, or the whole quad. I will never purchase another part from them, and I make sure I know who they supply and avoid them too.

On which arms? The 250R and 400 EX was uniball, the Yamaha arms have all been Warrior balljoints. Leaves the LTZ/KFX. Could also be a move to a better design. Roll has been around much longer than Fireball. A patent doesn't mean you were the first, just the first to run to the government and fill out the paperwork.

Those are horrible pictures. Look at the steels for burn marks or discoloration. If there is none, reinstall and readjust the clutch.
