  1. The FMF pipes need a fatter pilot, so I have to agree with the previous post, and say to bump the pilot up to 27.5, and your 270 may be lean, with those temps. Like someone previously stated, start fat with the main, and work down. I'd start with a 290, or 300, and see what it runs like. You're better off being a little rich, than a little lean. Too lean, and you will have to rebuild the top end, unless you like pistons with holes in them.
  2. Nobody is talking shit. It doesn't matter that you paid for your quad. I paid for mine, but I don't go around doing things with it, that are stupid, or break laws. It's been proven, time, and time again, that people that do dumb things get riding areas shut down. Having a loud set of pipes is stupid. The packing is there for two reasons, and those are, to keep the noise down to an acceptable level, and two, to help with the performance. You appear to be one of the types that doesn't give a damned about your actions negatively affecting others, and that's just plain stupid. You're in the minority around here.
  3. It's people like you, that give all the anti-ATV crowd some more reasons to raise HELL, and shut down riding areas. Many riding areas have already been shut down, for various reasons, but it's stupid to give them another reason, just because you think it's cool to have really loud pipes. If you want loud pipes, stay on your own property, and off public lands, and riding areas, so your actions don't negatively affect others that follow the rules, and use common sense.
  4. Actually, running without the packing hurts the performance. The pipes, and silencers are designed to be ran together, and the silencers are supposed to have packing in them. Believe it, or not, but two strokes need some back pressure to work the best. Running your silencers without packing screws that all up, and besides it just makes for more noise, and gives people something else to bitch about. Running without packing, just makes more noise, and hurts the performance. The guy that ported my cylinders used to race go-karts, so he has many years of R&D with two strokes, and he said that running without packing is doing nothing but hurting the performance. What kind of sense does it make, to put all kinds of performance parts on, and then run the silencers without packing, just because you like the sound, and end up hurting the performance?? Loud pipes don't mean it's fast.
  5. The Shearer pipes are more of a top-end pipe, suited more for drag racing. The CPI pipes are a drag pipe also, but are better suited for all around duning, and dragging. I'm running CPIs, and I even trail ride with them with no problems. Personally, I think you would be better off, getting the CPIs. Just my .02.
  6. If the plugs are black, you are too rich. This is probably why it's not running right up top. Go down 2 jet sizes, and run it, to see how it acts. If it was lean, the plugs would be white, or light gray. Before re-jetting, start it up, let it warm up, and then pull the choke out to see if it runs better, or worse. My guess is, it will run worse. If it runs better, you're too lean, but if it runs worse, it's too rich.
  7. Pull your plugs, and look at them, then let us know what color they are, so someone can help you out.
  8. Mains 280-300, depending on elevation. Pilots 27.5, and the needle should have the clip on the middle notch. You will probably have to take it for a few test runs, to get the mains dialed in. Air screws 1.5-2.0 turns out, and make sure both carbs are adjusted the same.
  9. Backfiring is usually a sign of being lean. After cleaning the carbs, check for air leaks, and make sure the air mixture screws are adjusted properly, and the same, from carb to carb. You might have an air leak around one of the gaskets, or even a hole in the manifold.
  10. You need to take your cylinders to the machine shop, and have them look at them to see how far over they will have to bore them. Order the pistons, and take the pistons to the machine shop, so they can bore the cylinders to match the pistons.
  11. I had a similar setup to yours several years ago, at a little under 1,500 ft. elevation, and it was 27.5 on the pilot, 1.5 turns out, and a set of 290 mains.
  12. The float could be out of adjustment, the needle, and seat above the float could be worn, and not sealing completely off, allowing the bowl to overfill, and/or your plug boot may be going bad. Also, check the gap between the pick-up coil, and flywheel. I can't remember what the gap is supposed to be, but some have said a match book cover works great to set the gap.
  13. I had the same problem on my front left caliper several years ago. The piston would push out, and not release. After a big wreck, we got to looking at it, and one of the seals around the piston had started coming apart, and had the piston crooked in the caliper, causing it to bind, and not release. I'd say tear the caliper down, and make sure both seals are in good shape, before the back brake locks completely up on you.
  14. Don't hit the end of the threads, unless you want to screw up the threads, so you can't get the nut back on. Screw the nut back on, but leave some space between the back of the nut, and the outside wheel bearing, then smack it squarely a couple of times with a dead blow hammer. It should jar it loose, if not, try spraying some lube in, and around the bearings, and letting it soak for a bit, before trying to remove the hub.
  15. No problem. If you had very much bad crap on your computer, getting rid of it, should have made your computer quite a bit faster. If you have anymore problems, just PM me.
  16. If you did as you said above, then the bad crap is gone. If you have a good registry cleaner, now would be the time to run it. Keep that Dr. Web on your computer, because it's free, and very handy, even though it takes a while to scan, it's very through.
  17. Try right clicking on each thing found, and a little window should open up, giving you the option to delete, rename, etc. If you can delete them do so, otherwise rename.
  18. Here's some more info for you, in this link. Flash Player Install Problems
  19. You might try uninstalling IE7, or IE8, and then doing a clean install, then try to reinstall flash player. It's worth a shot. Just for kicks, download this, and run a complete scan. Let me know if it finds anything, and if it does, delete it. Dr. Web Cure It Once you download it, and click scan, it will start to do the quick scan, but you need to hit the stop button once it starts scanning, and select full, or complete scan, and let it run, until it's done. It may take a while, but if there's bad crap on your computer, it will find it, and get rid of it. Keep us posted.
  20. The videos all worked for me, without problems. Something is messing up your computer, or has messed it up already. I had a similar problem with my other computer a month or so ago. I finally figured out that there were several trojans on it, no thanks to my wife's niece, so I just wiped the hard drive clean, and re-installed everything. It was simpler, and quicker, than trying to find, and fix everything that had gotten screwed up. Sorry, but it sounds like you've been messing with this for a while now, and you've probably spent more time trying to fix the flash player, than it would have taken to wipe out the whole hard drive, and start over.
  21. Click Start, then Run, and type chkdsk into the window, and press Enter. Let it run, and see if it finds any missing Windows files, or any unneeded files. If there are files missing, it will bring them back, and if some are no longer needed, it will delete them. Go to this link, Flash Player 9 Download, download Flash Player, and save it to your desktop. Reboot into safe mode, and try installing it from there. It maybe, that one of your security programs is blocking the install of Flash.
  22. It should, because I used the same cable that I had on my stockers with the TORS removed, for my 34mm flatslide Mikunis.
  23. Go to the local auto parts store, and buy some aluminum wheel cleaner, and a decent brush. Once that's done, polish them up.
  24. Here's another freebie antivirus/antitrojan that works good. It'll even detect, and remove trojan rootkits. Dr. Web Anti-Virus
  25. Hell, if billet does flake, the airlines, and plane manufacturers are in deep shit. I worked for Alcoa for 13 years, and pound for pound, aluminum is stronger than steel. If the billet impellars are "junk", then how can they make heads, blocks, intakes, wheels, and everything else for cars, trucks, and so on, and expect it too last? Somebody was feeding this guy a line of caca, about the billet impellars being junk.
