  2. Like Banchetta said this exhaust wave from the forces of hot gases creates a sonic wave down the pipe, then it reaches the diffuser channel and the wave reverses itself, returning back to the exhaust port. The TIMING of this resultant mixture of unspent gasses are further used to pressurize the next combustion mixture. Thats why pipes with the correct diffuser size and length is so important for the proper timing. So that this reversed wave hits the exhaust port at the proper time before it closes and you loose the benefit of this pressure wave. This is the most critical part of tuning a 2 stroke motor no doubt.
  3. Where did you get those air craft grade heims? Thanks for the info.
  4. I think my cbr929 hits close to 80 before it redlines in 1st maybe more. I'm never looking at the speedo when I'm close to redline in 1st. I know in the 1/4 I'm in 3rd just before redline at 134mph through the trap.
  5. I've never used aluminum. I hear they do wear out pretty quick. I currently use the sidewinder ti-moly sprockets. So far so good.
  6. I wouldn't go at it blind for sure. I would get some sport port templates from race logic or there may be some others i'm not sure about. Use these to mark your ports and help quide your grinding. You can ruin a good set of cylinders real quick if you don't know what your doing. All it takes is to miss beveling a 1/4'' of a port and snag there goes a ring. It requires all shapes and sizes of grinding wheel, cones, cylinders of both rock and different grades of sand paper. Dremmel and die grinder are probably the most popular tools but I would recommend a shaft extension for each. The die grinder will be controlled by a foot petal this way.
  7. Good point, but it's just a point where the engines harmonics are out of phase (cancelling each other out). I would think that the more the motor puts out the more noticeable these harmonics will be. It's been around in 2 strokes for years and this is why they have a noticeable hit or powerband. It's all about the engine harmonics, the balance and timing of these, coming together in unison all at one time. I think the more top end power you make by stretching the useable rpm range the larger this out of phase period will last. With porting, simply put, is altering the timing of these harmonics in area's of the rpm range where it is most beneficial to the rider. Just my .02
  8. If you are coughing up green phlegm, you need to see a doctor pretty quick. You may have bacterial bronchitis which can lead to pnuemonia pretty quick.
  9. No wonder there shit is so high, I gotta pay for your fringe benefits.
  10. You need to borrow me some. I love that polish.
  11. Man hate to hear that, she was soo young. I see it all too frequently in my profession and I never get over it very easy. What kind of cancer was it if you don't mind me asking?
  12. Anyone tried the heim joint tie rod ends? I see ASR makes a set but I'm not too familiar with ASR's quality at all. I've not heard good or bad. All I know is that they are relatively inexpensive so I'm a little skeptical. Anyone have a take on their products? I think Gibson makes a set too but they are twice as high. Anybody else make these?
  13. pro-flo.com also. These guys are really awesome, I have to support them for that. Shippiing is blazing fast.
  14. Glad you won!!
  15. Bought time you all got your shit rippin. I see no one has copied my mods in my sig. "1999 Banshee with dice valve caps, duct tape reinforced frame, bailing wire secured grips, PPG chameleon painted zerk fittings, "FEAR THIS" sticker, rope to spark plug kill switch, and sheep skin seat cover with backrest." My shit is beyond rippin, you guys are just getting started.
  16. If I rode all those different types of terrain and rode pretty often I would go the yfz 450. I don't get to ride that often and it needs to be extra special, so it has to be a banshee for me. Kinda like having a classic car for sunday drives ya know.
  17. That stuff is hard to read with no periods. I ran out of breath and almost passed out.
  18. Brock that is freakin awesome, PERIOD!!! Just wish I knew you a few months back, oh well.
  19. I did get beat by a stock raptor once with my modded shee. I had to put my wife on the back to win. Dirt roads ya know.
  20. Believe me your insurance company will try to settle out of court as long as the damages seeking are less than your coverage. If they are more, then they will have to prove it in a court of law. Generally they will find each person at a certain percentage of fault in relation to the accident. The bad part is that if she is awarded more than your coverage allows you will have to pay the rest out of pocket. Otherwise it shouldn't cost you a dime IF and when this happens.
  21. The cheapest way I've found is to just let the air out of the tires.
  22. I went from the fatties to the SS trinity's. I don't think I could ever go back to a steel chrome pipe again.
