  1. Sounds like you made up your mind. But not the way I would go about it. A top end is basic maintenance. Do you plan on keeping the bike??
  2. Okay I just read this is a hjr motor. I had an hjr motor. Now I don't. When I got everything together my squish was a little loose. I called Kevin he said all good. I asked about jetting. He gave me a point to start. Well I got the bike running. Not like a 4 mil tho. So I call Kevin, he would just say play with it your close. And that was it. So after a season of "playing with it" a unrelated issue took out my motor. Went to a local builder, and he pointed out that my domes were wrong, and the porting was a little excessive for what I was doing and the port I was told it was. So my dealing with hjr left a sour taste in my mouth and a unhappy costumer. Now I know I'm going to get pm's that I'm an idiot, don't know what I'm talking about, but this was my personal dealing with hjr. I also know of another member that had exactly the same issues as me.

You almost listed every detail of my bike, just a few differences. 4 mil stock cyl with decent port Trans massaged up Fast clutch and billet basket no lock up CPI 35 pwk +2 antivibe Flexx bars Fox shocks And all the other supporting shit that I over paid for. And yes Cam it's a very fun bike.
  4. Check if you burnt your harness on the pipe. I did that and it popped and one last back fire took out my reeds
  5. I would send the whole motor like that to be rebuilt. Get it ported, go 4 mil, get the trans done, nice clutch and basket. Have a 100% fresh bike for the season. But it might be way out of your budget I don't know.

  12. I think the wiseco paper that's folded 1000 times says to put the open end opposite the open notch on the piston
  13. People powder coat cylinders all the time. The cylinder shouldn't get that hot to mess up powder anyway. I used high temp black before. Never had an issue. Never had to touch them up either. Not much debris hit the motor directly

  15. I usually go with the first set that pops up in eBay. 99% of the time it's all balls.
  16. Stock location. One has factory plug on it, other dosent. 100 plus shipping. I just put some polish on a tag and wiped it off in one light, will clean up really well if some one took the time to do it. I will do it for a few extra bucks if wanted. On a bench buffer with compound and polish not a elbow grease job.
