I would absolutely agree w/the 27.5, but once you open them up to 2.5 turns, you could have closed them down to 1 turn out w/25 and be about the same spot. But hey, there is more than one way to skin a cat, if it works for you, rock and roll!
I have a full set of red drag cut plastics that have been painted w/chromabase Dupont automotive paint. Not sure what kind of riding you do. They look great, but have there small blemishes here and there. If you are at all interested, lemme know and we could talk a price. Also have a black stock seat in almost perfect condition, could maybe work one big deal.
Agreed. And throw that boost bottle in the trash! If you spoke w/Kevin and he recomended a mx/trail port than that is what he got out of your conversation w/him. Do you have more fun riding trails or running the hill and drag racing. That should make up your mind between the two.
You could do it to simply gain adjustability of your main jetting ckt from outside the carb, but it is not necessary and will not yeild any power gains. They do it on alky carbs because you can not get enough fuel to the motor through the main jet and emulsion tube. They can only be drilled so big. Alky motors need more fuel than a carb in stock form can supply. Some of the smaller alky motors can and do get away w/o power jets, but anything above a stock cylinder setup, forget about it.
39 PWK snomo pumper carbs setup by GT performance. Dumps and mains are .120, pilot is 55 and PJ's and barbs are drilled to .089. Billet boss bowls that have been welded on(see Pics, not sure if previous owner did for more volume or what) but look great and work fine w/no leaks. Comes w/slides and springs, needles, etc.(just not pictured). Also comes w/throttle cable and Mikuni octagon pump. $550 shipped for all. Lighting does not do polish justice. Will get better pics if anyone wants them.
You do not have to use Race fuel for purging. Since the motor is not under a load when purging you do not have to worry about deto. I run premium pump fuel to purge.
I use Klotz Supertechniplate 32:1.
You will shit purple twinkies the first time you ride it if that is what you are coming from
You will love a 10 cub, they are bullet proof motors and run very hard.
All of Rob's(RDZ) dyno numbers will be w/alcohol unless he states otherwise.
Here is another look at one. The black you see on the plug should basically go from 3 to 9 o'clock like Dave mentioned. I am not exactly sure why this burnt the way it did but you can get the idea from the picture. You can actually lean it to where the whole ring turns black but there will be no power gain and will only be approaching the danger point. If you are real rich(and you should be to start), your plugs will look brand new and wet looking when you pull them out.
You said these were origionally for the drag frames but adapted to stock frames. Are you still doing the pre-adaptation pieces. I am assuming they were a little more trimed down?
Cam, there have been a lot of small turbo bikes together that run just fine. Brad Tyson and Dan Hull have done quite a few 350's that rip. Dan did a 10 mil cub that dynod 240 and ran in the .40's. Gt performance has had a lot of success running turbos. You may not see a lot of PS winners running turbos just because they are hard to keep in perfect tune every time you run it. I guess my point is, it can be done and would be a lot of fun to tinker with so why the discouraging words?
I say good luck w/the project. It would also be cool to hear some feedback on that 10 mil mini lowrider.
If the bowls have been flip floped the choke on the right side will not work. The one that goes on the left side carb is usually numbered 1-1 inside the bowl. The other will be numbered 1-2.
