  1. If you don't get a pro-flow adapter for the airbox, you are going to get sand and debries past the filter no matter what. If you do have a proflow adapter make sure you don't tighten bolts too tight into plastic airbox, it will create a recess on the bolt holes, and adapter plate will not seal well to airbox and you will get dirt in that way(dont' ask how I know that ). Once I got all that straight, k+n has never failed me as long as you keep it "charged"(oiled) and I run no lid.
  2. 420, I think you missed my question.
  3. I run Fmf Fatty's now and am thinking of buying a set of rockets for the new season, can't say I'm unhappy w/fatty's, but starting to look rough, and have heard so many good things about Rockets. Wondering if anyone has upgraded to Rockets from Fatty's, and would love your opinions.
  4. What do you mean 10 minutes?
  5. No plans at this point, will hollar at some of the bro's, sounds like fun. I'm from Battle Creek. Is it typical to have enough snow on the ice to run paddles, don't have any studded?
  6. Depends on how bad the gouges are, if you cant get a head gasket to seal it, you are screwed.
  7. I agree w/staying semi-single during college. You also have to remember that your girl back home is only sixteen, and believe me, unless she is totally sheltered you are not the last person she is going to want to ever "experience". My highschool sweetheart broke my heart after six years of dating. We were way too young and way too serious. Besides, I'm glad she wanted to "experience" w/other guys, am now 27 and things are too much fun still to think about settling down w/one.
  8. Partying in a de ja vu one night and vinnie, dime, and rex came strolling in after a show, they stayed open till 5am and we had a blast partying w/most of pantera. R.I.P. Dime, will miss your live guitar riffs and solos.
  9. There are floats in the carburator in which control the fuel level in your carb, there is a spec in the manual(which i don't have on me) and you turn the carb upside down w/float bowl removed and measure the height of floats. when those floats are all the way up(or down when carb upside down) it shuts off the fuel supply in the carb so it doesnt just run out your overflow lines. If your float level is off too much either way you are just going to be spilling gas, or your engine will be starving for fuel.
  10. Engine ice is about the best coolant for your quad, if not just make sure you mix distilled water with the 50/50 mix. radiator should be full, just pay attention to your reservoir and fill it up a little at a time as you see the level go down(level in reservoir) Eventually it will stay pretty much at a constant level.
  11. Check any website that sells oem yamaha parts, they break down each part cluster and you buy just what you need.
  12. Need to find out what you are running right now, assuming it ran good this summer, and go up 2-3 sizes and see how shee runs. But the only sure way to tell is a plug chop.
  13. I am at 94db at Silver Lake w/fmf fatties, pc2 silencers, and sparky spark arrestors.
  14. I'd run it just a little fatter, worst that will happen is it will bog up top and you will have to go back down a size.
  15. Fixitrod is right on the money, pin only comes out one way and is just pressed in. wont take much force to shove it out.
  16. Stock carbs? Airbox or not? what other mods?
  17. One weekend off from you, going 17-19th. Have to try and catch up w/you all next year.
  18. I like the k+n w/outerware and proflow adapter. It is more crucial than anything to get the adapter sealed well. Tighten the nuts too much and you will create a recess inside of your airbox from the nuts to the adapter and it won't seal correctly. I've gone through an airbox like that before. And i have found that I can pinch the outerware in the clamp for the filter to make sure it stays on.
  19. Sorry to hear that brooke, my sympathys go out to you and his would be wife.
  20. I have only slight mods and I have never even come close to seeing the ass-end of a raptor. They just don't want to get smoked.
  21. JT, live in lower Michigan, how far do i have to go to drop off quad to get loaded?
  22. If you can't keep the front end down then extend the swingarm, may sacrifice a hair on hookup, but that is what you claim to be the problem is.
  23. I agree w/sredish on the pilot issue, and I would try moving the clip back to the middle position.
