  1. I picked through Dave's list and here are are the only folks I would recommend based on talking to them or woking with them in order (the ones without numbers are tied in my book: FAST Kevin Herr (never talked to, but I have heard good things. Kind of an up and coming shop.) A&S 4.)LC Performance 3.) Nate McCoy (I generally don't get along with Nate on technical issues, but he's a good worker all the same) Rudy Kurtz (Port Magic) 5.) Redline 2.) Cascade (actually uses other folks, but they are usually big name folks) 1.) Twister
  2. One inch of play is reasonable on the undriven (bottom) run of chain.
  3. ......................That one was a bit of a stretch. Maybe you need some more coffee or something this morning.
  4. I have mounts built into my frame for the coils and the bottom of my engine is rigidly bolted to the frame, so I suspect what I have set up for ground straps will be fine. As for linign up the flywheel, is there a mark on the moon somewhere or am I missing something obvious? :geek:
  5. Bump for a great guy!
  6. Word.
  7. Nah, you just need a bigger budget, then you won't have any trouble.
  8. You'd have it sold if you ever got back to me on the shipping thing............
  9. Someone beat me to posting that auction link in here....... That is definitely a case of throwing good money at crap. That nickel plating wasn't cheap.
  10. Yeha, I know. I wasn't planning on using any lights. :geek:
  11. When I get the cylinder to the .085 mark, where on the unductor (moons) do I line the flywheel mark up to? :geek:
  12. My coils seem to have straps that ground them to the frame. Should I extend them to my head?
  13. Word. They have much cooler stuff in the classified section over there (mostly because the site is full of people with high limit credit cards that can't figure out how to use the stuff they buy). I don't post over there much because I usually get in an arguement with well-known folks over there.............
  14. I pretty much just buy chemicals and last minute trip stuff there. Although, I may buy Banshee there if I can talk them down on the price enough.
  15. Where do you put the ground straps at? To clarify: If you are facing the stator side of the engine, to set the timing, you roll the engine to TDC, then roll it cloackwise .085" on the dial indicator and attempt to lock the PVL and flywheel down? Thatnks for all the help, that is exactly what I have been looking for out of this thread! :geek:
  16. The Bullet stayed with Sterling, but it's won't stop using some Shryselr parts until 2009.
  17. The people that work at Action are retarded (they give themselves nicknames like "Nitro" and have it sewn on their uniforms). I suspect I can use that to my advantage though..........
  18. The Sterling Bullets will be back to all Daimler by 2009. You will have to put up with their divided crap until then. It should be easier to get Cummins engines in them by then as well.
  19. I generally like the Kenworth/Peterbuilt interiors better than Daimlers, but our new Coronado and Western Star replacement model are going to be pretty hot. :geek:
  20. I am thinking I am going to give it a try............... The Dyna ignition and Nology coil set up will go on the shelf until I get it run on the dyno a bit.
  21. Is that .85" before or after TDC? How did you arrive at that number? I have a PVL puller, so I am good there. Can you explain mooning the flywheel and the tape thing. Are you saying that the flywheel center gets out of round? How does that happen?
  22. I've got one now, but I am not sure if I want ot run it or not.

Detroit came to see me this week, so I should be good for atleast another couple of months.
  24. I am figuring I can get one for $4k and out get out the door for anoth $500. I was thinking about using it as a piece of furniture in my extra bedroom. :geek:
  25. I think Cascade sells new caliper pins (the bolt you are talking about). :geek:
